  1. Jesus said it would be 3 days and 3 nights. Friday afternoon until Sunday morning is 2 nights and one day using elementary mathematics. This is another example of how understanding the hebraic context of the scriptures is helpful. The Passover is a Sabbath no matter what day of the week it lands on...but besides that the Essenes held a different calendar than the Judeans so there was even a dispute as to which day Passover really began on in those days... It is entirely possible (maybe even likely) that there were two different days observed by the two different groups much the same as the Eastern Orthodox celebrate christmas and ishtar on different days than Roman Catholics (and thus Protestants by default) Jesus also said "On The Third Day". This example is from the link that I posted earlier: A literal 72 hr. example in scripture; Let's say this is on a Wed. A:)Acts 10:3 Cornelius recieves a vision about the ninth hour(3 pm) b:)Mark 15:34,37 Jesus, about the ninth hour(3pm) cried out with a loud vioce and gave up the ghost. Lets say This is on a Thursday A:)Acts 10:9 On the next day,the servants enter Joppa, and meet with Peter B:)This day is supposably a Sabbath, although "feast days" were never ever called a Sabbath(outside of the books of Moses) through out the rest of the Bible. Let's say this is on a Friday. A:)Acts 10:23 On the next day, Peter leaves with the servants to go to Caesarea. B:)From about 6pm, after Thursday Sabbath and ALL daylight hours Friday, Mary is buying and preparing spices, and runs out of time to go to the tomb. Let's say this is a weekly Sabbath, not the feast Sabbath,as it was called on Thursday. A:) Acts 10:24 The Next day, Peter and the servants enter Caesarea where Cornelius is waiting for them. B:)Jesus supposably is risen about the ninth hour(3pm), The gaurds are sleeping. No one knows that He has risen.. A:)Acts 10:30(still the same day)" Cornelius said, FOUR DAYS AGO I was fasting until THIS HOUR; and at the ninth hour(3pm)............." The first day of the week A:)Mark 16:1,2 The Marys went, very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. About 15 hours after Christ had risen, they finally find out......... According to this theory, Jesus would have, burden a donkey the previous Sabbath, and He would not be the anti-type of First Fruits/Wave Sheaf. AS we see in JOHN 19v 16-31, we see that it is a (HIGH DAY) and in which there where to be know bodies "hanging around on that day, so to speak. that HIGH DAY is actually, a sabbath so, now that is wednesday over with and the beginnig of a HIGH SABBATH. then the next day wich would be a (thursday), we se in MATHEW; 28 V62-66, THAT THE CHIEF PRIEST & PHARISEES are still trying to "catch out christ", by sending soilders to guard the tomb where christ was. so this was thursday gone. end of the (HIGH SABBATH). Know when we read about the MARY'S PREAPARING THE SPICES (LUKE 23 v54-56) before the sabbath, that is the "sabbath" that GOD had commanded. when they rested it was friday everning to saturday everning. so when they went to the tomb and saw the ANGEL OF THE LORD (mathew;28 v 2-6), you see that the LORD had already risen, meaninnig that JESUS was in the tomb excactly 3 days and 3 nights. Not only does that prove that JESUS was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights, it also proves that (a) HE still keeps the sabbath that HIS FATHER IN HEAVEN commanded and (b) that the 1st day of the week is SUNDAY , AND NOT THE " HOLY SABBATH " that christains today believe. MAY GOD SPEED .
  2. NO complaints here brother working on a SUNDAY it is the 1st day of the week any way. GOD BLESS
  3. Well...from what I understand from scripture, and from what Jesus proved Himself to be (in all, through all, sustaining all... God), It seems clear to me that the rest we're supposed to have isn't in a "Day", but in Him. my dear brother, so where do the ten commandments stand?. if you are saying that it is all done away with ("old testament") and pick and choose what is relavate and what is not then CHRIST really went to the cross for nothing. HE came to fullfill "what the prophets of old prophisied", not to do away with any thing but the burnt offerrings e.c.t.. For if it is all done away with then why are we all still here then? and what is the government, that GOD is going to bring back on HIS return? (REVERLATIONS). MAY GODSPEED
  4. I use to keep the traditional SUNDAY and then i did the most remarkable thing i read and reserch THE ALMIGHTY GOD'S WORD, the bible. in GENESIS 2v 2-4 GOD never asked us weather we wanted to keep the HOLY SABBATH, it was a command that should be kept by all. It was changed by a man named constintine, it was always meant to be the seventh day,( which is saterday), man has always liked to change GOD'S ways to suit thier own ways. The other question about strictness? my dear sister if you look on into EXODUS 20v8-11 you will see that it is a commandment, you will find others say that "christ did away with it", e.c.t.. but the fact that THE FATHER never ever changes, his mind, or his word. oh and by the way the sabbath came before the LAW WAS HANDED DOWN TO ISRAEL. A BROTHER IN CHRIST GOD SPEED.
