  1. I hope nobody here minds if I skip reading what others have put down already and post this. If anyone does have a problem with it, please pm me and I will stop. I have a comment about the proof given for "once saved, always saved". To my understanding, you have misinterpreted what Jesus said. He is not saying that believers will always have salvation or even that they will only lose salvation if they want to. John 10:28 says that believers shall live eternally because they believed. The last two verses says that nobody else can take away a person's salvation.
  2. I constantly feel impatient and when I'm tempted to sin, it seems I'm forced to sin (such as if I'm tempted to play video games when I know to work on homework, I feel like I have no choice) and I regret my decisions later on. Am I still saved? I've been going through a lot of trouble, not on the outside but on the inside with something, yet I can't recognize what the problem is. I typed topics earlier about certain problems I had, and it did seem that those problems were going to go away, but the seem to always come back. When I try to pray to become saved, I feel like I can't. I was thinking maybe this was because I committed blasphemy against the holy spirit, the one "unforgiving sin". When I did commit this sin, I wanted to purposely commit that sin because I was mad at god for my confusion (of course, I now know it was my fault for my confusion, but I am slightly mad at TBN because they were the ones that I listened to and I'm pretty sure they added to my confusion). Does this mean I have no hope to go to heaven? My family and me used to be good Christians, but it seems that my brother is just as confused as I am, and my parents seemed to go farther away from god.
  3. I have great news. I haven't talked to a doctor or anything, but my relationship with God is slowly being restored. I think all I needed to know was how much he really loved me (and how much he really loves everyone).
  4. I voted yes, but I feel bad for those who are on drugs.
  5. I'm a little confused right now in my life. For the last few years (about 3 or 4 years), I've been "out of reality". Every year it's been getting worse. At first when I started to go "out of reality", I was the closest to God as I have ever been, and I was persecuted. Because of that, I decided to become more part of the world by becoming prideful during our Summer break, and ever since, even though I've stopped my pride, I've still been going "out of reality". When I wasn't out of reality, I was smarter, more athletic, and more social than I am now. Today, I'm still known to be a great Christian, while other Christians seem that they're trying to prove I'm not a Christian. I'm expected to do a lot of great things by my parents and everybody, but where I'm out of touch with reality, I can't do anything. I know some people would say my self-esteem is the cause of the problem, but I know as a fact it's not my self-esteem. I literally am much worse than I used to be and I don't know what to do. I'm very shy, and just recently I've seen something called asperger syndrome (I looked on www.webmd.com for all of my symptoms, and right now it seems I have at least 5 out of 9 symptoms - 1) dislikes change in routine, 2) unusual face expressions, 3) difficulty learning new things, 4) socially withdrawn, 5) difficulty solving problems. There are other things I have in common of people with this syndrome, according to WebMD.com). The reason I want to post this is because I'm confused what to do. I've been embarrassing myself everyday, and it's hard for me not to get mad at God, knowing that he can instantly get rid of whatever problem I have. What do I do? What's wrong with me?
  6. I'm confused about this because I've met many people who calls themselves "christians", and then cuss, say the name of god in vain, etc., and I don't know what to do about it. And what about body language? If someone looks at you like they hate you, shouldn't you judge them as someone who might have a hard time, or maybe even does hate you? The following scripture is why I thought we can tell if someone is a christian or not by their works, or in other words, "fruits". Please understand, I don't want to condemn, spread rumors, complain, etc., to anyone at all!!! Instead, could I judge these christians by their works so I could maybe talk to them? Of course, I would have to find a way to talk to them without insulting them, because the thought just came to me that people would hate it if you judged them, and then you were talking about how they needed Jesus again. I would hate it. Tell you the truth, I would probably immediately become blinded with anger, and call the person a hypocrite. I don't know what to do, please help me with this question.
  7. But what about the "fruits they make", or their works? As I've said at the top of this topic, Jesus warns us of false prophets, that we should "look at the fruit they bear"
  8. Sorry, I guess I got a little scared about this. I shouldn't be, though. God's in control.
  9. Yet, the bible also says this... How far should I judge? I know some people that I'm afraid say they are christians, and they got saved, but I've noticed that they've cussed and commited blasphemy almost everyday I seen them. I can't "see" Jesus in their hearts. Is it a sin of judging them as hypicrites and non-beleivers? You are finding that Christians outside of your circle have their own belief system that works for them. Trust me, they find passages in the Bible to reinforce their beliefs. Just like you do. The next time, why not ask for 'an exchange of ideas' party. But exactly how should we judge someone? By "their fruits" as the bible says, or am I wrong about this?
  10. ...and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Jesus said himself that Judas was lost, but only so the scripture would be fulfilled. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Judas was a disciple (he was saved), we all know that. Yet, Jesus said he was lost, he was the only disciple that didn't go to heaven. Why? Because he backslid. Despite all that I've said, though, I beleive Paul in one of his letters said that we didn't need to worry about topics like this. As long as we were close to Jesus (had Jesus in our hearts), that's all we really needed to worry about. Don't let these debates confuse you and separate you from god as it did to me. I was confused, and I paid more attention to these debates, looking for answers, instead of paying attention to god (which was completely foolish of me!!). he was never saved. this is confirmed by the last thing Jesus said to Judas. If you wouldn't mind, please give me the book, chapter and verse for the part you're talking about. I understand, though, if you don't have the book, chapter, or verse for it. Usually, I don't know where the things are that I type about, but I do know it's in there. And what about this?
  11. The bible says to not judge because it's a sin. Yet, the bible also says this... How far should I judge? 12. Look at what I said about Judas Iscariot from a different topic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Look what god showed me while I was reading the bible!! I seriously think it's a possibility god wanted me to tell you this. In this verse, Jesus is praying about his disciples. ...and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Jesus said himself that Judas was lost, but only so the scripture would be fulfilled. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Judas was a disciple (he was saved), we all know that. 13. We shouldn't take this chip, even if we're breaking the law. This is kind of strange to me, though. I thought the chips weren't given until after the rapture. Makes you think a little since they're making us receive the chips either on their hand or on their drivers liscense on May 12th or the 18th of next year. I'd say either the rapture is going to happen before that time, or (most likely) they will not make everyone use these chips. As I said before, please reach the lost. To learn how to reach the lost, go to www.wayofthemaster.com. It really helped me when I talked to people about Jesus, and it seems to be very effective too.
  14. This isn't too surprising to me. About two weeks ago, I learned that by next year from the show Jack Van Impe Presents (May 18, 2008), that every person is supposed to have either a computer chip on their drivers liscense or to be put in their hand. I was shocked when I heard this. The time is getting closer when Jesus will come, and God's wrath will be poured out onto the earth Please talk to the lost!!! To get equipped to talk to the lost, you can go to this website. www.wayofthemaster.com
  15. I thought the same thing about this movie. When "God" told Evan to build the ark to save people from the flood, I was a little angry. Later in the movie, though, I learned it was just a flood in the small valley they lived in, not the entire world. As a christian, I did like this movie. The problem I had with this movie was that it had a few bad words in it. Although, the lesson of the story is a good lesson to learn (that everyone has a purpose in their lives, and that through god, they can accomplish anything). If they just took out the bad words, I would consider this a decent christian movie. On TBN, they interviewed the director of "Evan Almighty", who is a christian, and who did talk about Jesus and God. (This confuses me, though, because I was sure he would get rid of the bad words if he was a christian) I myself found nothing in this movie that was offensive against Christians.

  17. I know that I'm blessed to even have a church to go to, but I voted that my church was decent. I voted this way because sometimes I feel uncomfortable with the people who go there. They don't do anything wrong, but they seem like they're looking bad at me, like I did something wrong. I could just be paranoid, though. In that case, my church is great.
  18. Stocks are odd. One day you're company's up 1%, then the next it's down 1.5%. I was thinking of buying stocks after I graduated college, but I'm having second thoughts. I still have plenty of time to think about it, though.
  19. Who won? I would like to see the video maybe later, but could you tell me who won? Will they show the debate on TV again? Thanks.
  20. True, other countries do depend on the food we give them, but our military is one of the strongest (maybe not the strongest, probably China is) on Earth. Military in the USA does make us a superpower in the world. Look at the Cold War. We were considered militarily dangerous because we had nuclear weapons. We are still that dangerous today, but militarily, we have more "competition" in the world. (China, Iran, N. Korea, etc) I beleive the USA is better economically, but we are also good militarily as well.
  21. I'd just like to say that this is a good topic. I've heard it both ways. When I was in 6th grade, I got saved, but not baptized. The next year (7th grade) I backslid (and I knew this because I didn't read the bible, I treated people wrong, etc.). Finally, in 8th grade, I got baptized, and that's when I became serious about my salvation. I don't truly know why, but for a long time I thought you were saved by only saying a prayer, and then you received the holy spirit when you got baptized. I was wrong. I admit that when I read in the bible that when Jesus was baptized that the holy spirit came upon him, I thought you could only receive the holy spirit through baptism. What I truly believe now is that you should get baptized right after you get saved, but yet nobody is forcing you to, and it isn't required for salvation. (I am a little confused, though, 'cause earlier, Rtwo said that baptism was 'commanded' by Jesus)
  22. I'll remember you in my prayers, and remember that you should try to receive praise from god, not from the world. And as they said in the posts before this, pray for your enemies.
  23. I'm just a sophmore in high school, but I've had the same problem just a few weeks ago. I was thinking that god wanted me to become a basketball player. During this time, I struggled with god and my calling. 'If god wants me to become a good basketball player, I should start soon' I told myself, but I later learned that god just gave me this talent to have fun, not to make it into my job. Don't let this tear you up spiritually. For weeks, this topic of god's will for me weakened me everyday (not only spiritually, but mentally, emotionally, etc) The best advise that I can give you is to continually pray to god, saying that may his will be done, and that you may see what will he has for you. Remember, don't worry about this. God is in control. If you want to learn more about what god's will is for you, look up the topic I made that is titled, Is my Destiny Playing Basketball? The people who talked to me in this were very helpful.
  24. I'm not god, so I can't judge correctly. If you look at the success the US has had, I beleive that we are "more godly" than most other nations. One thing that I think we do right is that we help Israel when we can. Another thing is that we have a government that says people are equal. Our laws (at least when our country was made) came from the bible. About whether the US should have more judgment or not, I'm a little confused on. Could someone explain this to me a little?
  25. I think self-defense is right to do. You look in the old testament, and it talks about Jews fighting a lot in self defense from other enemies.
