  1. Shalom, choir loft. No one that I've read so far in this topic is denying the Law. I know plenty of the Law. I've studied the 613 commandments 0f God, but you need to realize that God Himself had to make a way for His Law to be IMPLEMENTED where it otherwise could not be obeyed. NO ONE is "defending SIN!" Are you meshuggah?! We are ALL SINNERS, even you, my friend! And, no matter HOW MUCH you try to adhere to the Law, you will NEVER be able to keep it all! For example, every commandment that requires an animal sacrifice in the Temple upon the brazen altar is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE right now, even if you WANTED to follow the commandment! While the Temple was present before 70 A.D., He performed every rite and ritual that was necessary, according to God's Law! Moreover, He had God's testimony, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am WELL PLEASED!" NO! He is not a liar! He said He came to fulfill the Law, and HE DID! He kept the Law of God PERFECTLY, COMPLETELY! That is what He meant, and that is what He did. How do you figure? The churches are NOT "in love with its own sin." That is NOT what Yeeshuwa` the Messiah or the apostles taught! This teaching, namely, "The LAW and GRACE work together. One is saved by grace according to the LAW so that they may live lives of holiness, apart from the world, according to the LAW," is TRULY egregiously appalling! It doesn't match any of the teachings of the Bible! Galatians 2:15-21 (KJV) 15 We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall NO FLESH be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. 18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Ponder this carefully before you type another word! Be careful that you are making a distinction between churches that preach the truth of God's Word and those that teach a religious "political correctness." Okay, now I know that you are "preaching" against the established denominations that hail from Catholicism. But, "choir loft," you're "preaching to the choir!" Repentance is turning 180 degrees FROM the sins in one's life and turning TO God for His help. That is what repentance is. However, a human being CANNOT live righteously no matter how well intentioned he or she may be! One must turn TO God and let HIM make the exchange of "our SIN" for "His RIGHTEOUSNESS." Once we have made Yeeshuwa`s soul our sacrifice, then the transfer is complete, the Ruwach haQodesh 'Elohiym (the Holy Spirit of God) comes to live within us, ahd HE does the righteous living for us!
  2. Shalom, @R. Hartono. That's actually a GOOD thing! It's the next step for the sanctification of the Temple, which I've heard they've been designing and are ready to build once the site has been set and approved. They have the garments and the utensils and furniture ready to go. It's even been reported that they are using the pre-fab method to make the Temple's construction go faster. Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") said, Matthew 23:37-39 (KJV) 37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 "Behold, your house is left unto you DESOLATE! 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, 'Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the LORD!'" And, this last sentence comes from Psalm 118:26 ... Psalm 118:21-27 (KJV) 21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. 23 This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes! 24 This is THE DAY which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. 25 Save now, (Hebrew: Howshiya` naa' = Greek: Hoosanna) I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. 26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: WE HAVE BLESSED YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD. 27 God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. So, it won't be long! "The House of the LORD" is the TEMPLE! especially with the mention of "the altar!" Yeeshuwa` foretold that they would not see Him again UNTIL they could say these words, which whill be said from the Temple! Also, "Armageddon" the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew words "Har-Megiddown," is about the Messiah's war against the invaders of His Land! He will drive them out of Jerusalem, across the mountains of Israel, and fight them in the Valley of Jezreel, below and north of Tel-Megiddo, or "Har-Megiddown." It's a WONDERFUL promise that may be taking place very soon!
  3. Shalom, choir loft. Numbers don't lie, but people frequently lie with numbers! And, his Name is actually Yeeshuwa` (יֵשׁ֡וּעַ pronounced "yay-shoo'-gah"), which is Hebrew for "He shall save/rescue/deliver.") It is a verb with the 3rd-person, singular, masculine prefix. The `ayin, the last consonant of the name [on the left end, btw] is the same as the first letter in "Gaza." It's a 'swallowed g' sound, like when a person gulps. Only a "Sabra" (a native of Israel) or an Arab or an Egyptian will pronounce it correctly. Also, the "her" reference is NOT about the "church!" It's about BABYLON the Great! Revelation 18:1-10 (KJV) 1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, "'I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.' 8 "Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her." 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, "Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come!"
  4. Shalom, choir loft. Right. Paul said, they are a "law unto themselves." And, they were given certain laws by God after the Flood. They were not to eat meat with the blood still in it, and they were told by God, Genesis 9:6 (KJV) 6 "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." This law of capital punishment fell upon ALL human beings (and animals, too) after the Flood. Thus, these laws are common to all. As far as the Law given at Mt. Sinai to Mosheh ("Moses"), not all Gentiles are privy to it; however, they can still be held to the Law because it is God's requirements for the children of Israel who were to be the priests to the Gentiles. Correct, again. The Law was our schoolmaster - our teacher - to show us our complete need for God's justification (not "salvation"). It shows us that we are INCAPABLE ON OUR OWN of appeasing God, no matter how hard we try. Well, this is close, but there seems to be too much emphasis on keeping God's Law, which it's been demonstrated we are INCAPABLE of doing. God is a COMPLETELY HOLY GOD and a PERFECTLY RIGHTEOUS GOD! If one has sinned even once, then it is IMPOSSIBLE to undo the sin in one's life! God sees all of time at once! No future deed is going to wipe out the past deeds we have done! God HIMSELF must step in and do what is otherwise impossible for us! THAT is how God JUSTIFIES an individual. He CALLS us "RIGHTEOUSNESS" IN SPITE of our sins! This can ONLY be done through the finished work of Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") on the cross, for it was there that God called His Son, "SIN!" and poured out His wrath upon that SIN! By making Him our Sacrifice for sin, God can perform the transfer, and we legitimately, legally are called "HIS OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS FOUND IN HIS SON!" (2 Cor. 5:21) But, remember, "by the deeds of the Law NO FLESH shall be justified!" (Romans 3:20). Absolutely not; the Law is PERFECT because GOD is PERFECT! Paul said, Romans 7:7-12 (KJV) 7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, "Thou shalt not covet." 8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without (outside of) the law sin was dead. 9 For I was alive without (outside of) the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. 11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. You're right ... up to a point. However, Gentiles are not among those whose "minds and hearts of those He has redeemed by His blood" NATURALLY! Only redeemed Gentiles are! Natural Gentiles who have not yet known to make the Messiah their sacrifice for sin aere NOT (or NOT YET) redeemed by His blood! You're confusing the Law, which is the set of rules governing the sacrifice, with the sacrifice itself! God's LAW is the "HOW" the sacrifice is to be made; the Sacrifice is the "WHAT" (or rather, the "WHO") is being sacrificed. Well, we AREN'T "saved by the LAW!" We are JUSTIFIED by God THROUGH HIS SON keeping the whole LAW! That's not a "license to sin," because God won't put up with that! Once we are His children, He deals with us as sons (and daughters), chastening us as necessary! Once God through His Ruwach haKodesh has put His Law into our hearts, we don't WANT to go against it! He has given us a conscience to do His Law, not because it's required, but because we LOVE HIM! It's not a matter of "what we have to do" anymore; it's a "what we GET to do" now through the power of His Ruwach! The matter of our justification and our redemption and our adoption is SETTLED! We become His children, and He never forsakes us! No, they are NOT the same thing. The Law are the RULES to follow that God has established; the Grace of God is the MEANS by which He has provided justification THROUGH HIS SON'S FINISHED WORK, both in KEEPING the Law completely, and in DYING as our Sacrifice for sin. We cannot be justified by God without the Sacrifice called "sin" being killed on our behelf (when we make His death our sacrifice for sin)! Only then, can God pronounce us "His own Righteousness" found within His Son! "Emasculate?!" That means to make someone "less than a man!" No, Jews are required to keep the commandments, all 613, of them because they are God's chosen people! But, Paul - a Pharisee - told us that NO ONE could keep all of the commandments perfectly (and he should know)! No one, that is, except the Messiah of God. The animal sacrifices would only COVER sins for a year, but the Lamb of God - haKeves 'Elohiym - REMOVED our sins completely! The author of Hebrews told us this, Hebrews 9:23-28; 10:1-25 (KJV) 23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation (RESCUE)! 1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can NEVER with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. 7 Then said I, 'Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.' " (Psalm 40:6-8) 8 Above when he said, "Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure" therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, "Lo, I come to do thy will, O God." He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting (anticipating) till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. 15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, 16 "'This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,' saith the Lord, 'I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.'" (Jeremiah 31:33-34) 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. You're correct on several fronts, but don't think for a moment that believing in Yeeshuwa` as the One through whom we are justified means that we have replaced God's Law! The Law hasn't been touched or abandoned (by those who know better); we still must keep God's Law, however, not to be accepted by God, but to make God happy because we LOVE God! Only the Old Mosaic Covenant, i.e., the Covenant that God made with the children of Israel at Mount Sinai, will be replaced by the New Covenant that God will make with the houses of Israel and Judah. That is the ONLY thing that shall be replaced. The current Covenant of interest, though, is the DAVIDIC Covenant of 2 Samuel 7, repeated in 1 Chronicles 17. THAT is the Covenant that was repeated by Gabriel to Mary in Luke 1, and it is THAT Covenant that was presented to the Jews for 1/2 a Week of Daniel 9. For three and a half years, the Gospel of the Kingdom (Isaiah 52:7) was heralded to the Jews, but they rejected their KING-APPARENT (the MESSIAH), and He left them DESOLATE (as predicted by Gabriel in Daniel 9:27) until that which is decided against them is poured out upon the desolate. He said He would return when they can say, "Baruwkh haba' b-shem YHWH." (Matthew:23:37-39). Perhaps, but all we can do is control our own actions, and I prefer to keep God's Law to honor Him because I love Him and want to please Him through the power of His Ruwach haQodesh. Oh, and one more thing; if a person has been justified by God through the finished work of the Messiah, then he or she will NOT go to the Lake of Fire.
  5. Shalom, JoeCanada. Do you ever read the harmonies of the Gospels, Davies' and Robertson's, for instance? There were FOUR Passovers in total, and the last One was just after the Messiah died. It was the Shabbat ("Sabbath") that was "an high holy day"; that is, an extra Shabbat - a Day of Rest - in the week! It occurred two days before the regular weekly Shabbat. Yeeshuwa` died on the Day of Preparation, when they were killing the sacrificial lambs for the Passover meals. This is why He is called "HaKeves 'Elohiym" - "The Lamb of God!" It can be shown from Scripture that Yeeshuwa` was not born in December: His cousin was born six months before Yeeshuwa` was born: Luke 1:26-38 (KJV) 26 And in the sixth month (of Elizabeth's pregnancy) the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name [was] Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, "Hail, [thou that art] highly favoured, the Lord [is] with thee: blessed [art] thou among women!" 29 And when she saw [him], she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, "Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end." (This is a restatement of the Davidic Covenant found in 2 Samuel 7 and 1 Chronicles 17.) 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible!" 38 And Mary said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word." And the angel departed from her. He was more than likely born in Autumn, with the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). I believe that He was born on the FIRST day of the Feast, and He was circumcised eight days later, the LAST day of the feast. This is why all the Gentile nations who will come against Israel will be required to come to Jerusalem by the New King of Israel, the Messiah of God, the One Anointed by God to be Israel's King, Yeeshuwa`! (See Zechariah 14.) His cousin's father, Z'charyahuw ("Zecharias"), was a priest of the house of Leviy, a Levite, who was also of the course of 'AViyaah ("Abia"): Luke 1:5-25 (KJV) 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias (Z'kharyahuw), of the course of Abia ('AViyaah): and his wife [was] of the daughters of Aaron ('Aharown), and her name [was] Elisabeth ('ElishaVet). 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were [now] well stricken in years. 8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, 9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without (outside) at the time of incense. 11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12 And when Zacharias saw [him], he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said unto him, "Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. 14 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. 16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." 18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, "Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years." 19 And the angel answering said unto him, "I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. 20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season." 21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple. 22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless. 23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house. 24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, 25 "Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach." The course of 'AViyaah (אֲבִיָה ==> "Abia" or "Abijah" or "Aviyah") was for a week twice a year in the rotation of 24 courses, and the Jewish year began with the new moon of the first month after the spring equinox. Passover began on the 14th day of the first month, and lasted for 7 days (8 for orthodox Jews). Thus, he would serve in the eighth shabbat to the nineth shabbat and then again in the 33rd shabbat to the 34 shabbat in each year. This fluctuates in the Gregorian calendar, but not in the Hebrew calendar. It's always in the sixth week after Pesach (Passover) and in the seventh week after Sukkot (Tabernacles). Based upon the timing of GaVriy'eel appearing to Z'kharyahuw and then to Miryam ("Mary") six months after ElishaVet's conception, Yochanan the Immerser was probably born in the first month, Nisan. Six months later, in Tishrei the seventh month, Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") would have been born. This puts His birth near Sukkot, when Yeeshuwa` "dwelt (tabernacled) with us" (John 1:14). Eight days later, He was circumcised. Yeeshuwa` started His "ministry" (actually, His "offer of the Kingdom" to the children of Israel, beginning with His own tribe, Yhudah or Judah, the Jews, just as David did before Him, see 1 Kings 2:11), when He was about 30 years old (Luke 3:23), probably on or around His birthday. Half a year later, He celebrated the FIRST of the four Pesach celebrations (Passover). He was followed by not only the Twelve, but hundreds of others throughout His offer of the Kingdom. He demonstrated many infallible proofs through the power of His Father, performing miracles to prove that He was not only "the Son of God" (fulfilling the Davidic Covenant in part), but to also provide partial fulfillment of the first half of the Seventieth Seven of Daniel 9. It was the MESSIAH who is the "he" of Daniel 9:27! Now, I know that this is a LOT of information to dump on a person all at once, but you must understand that I've been studying this for DECADES!
  6. Shalom, choir loft. Keep on hollerin,' bro. You're way off base, and one simply needs to read the Scriptures as they were intended to be read. You should know better.
  7. Shabbat shalom, everyone. Two words that one should be aware of. 1) Satan, and 2) angels. The word "saataan" (שָׂטָן) is a HEBREW word that means "enemy," and in particular, it is a "courtroom enemy." All names in the Bible mean something. This word was transliterated into Greek as "satanas" (σατανᾶς), adding the "-as" proper masculine noun ending. So, when we read the following, Mark 8:33 (KJV) 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, "Get thee behind me,Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men!" Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") was NOT calling "Kefa" ("Peter") the being with the NAME of "Satan!" He was calling him an "enemy," because his response was contrary to the will of God for Yeeshuwa`s near future! The word "angel" is an ENGLISH transliteration of the GREEK word "aggelos" (ἄγγελος), and the word means "a messenger." (The gamma-gamma consonant blend is the "ng" sound in Greek.) It is a translation of the Hebrew word "mal'akh" (מַלְאַךְ), which also means "a messenger." An interesting fact is that this Hebrew word is used three times in the book of Job (1:14; 4:18; and 33:23), and NONE of them are about Satan or any supernatural messenger! The first verse is about a "messenger" who comes to tell Job about the loss of his oxen and donkeys! The second probably more refers to the priesthood who could be braggadocious. And, the third is about a witness to the uprightness of a person, to turn away God's wrath against the person. HaSatan (The Enemy) was there presenting his case to God against IyoV ("Job"), but he was NOT in "heaven." He was where the "sons of God," human beings, could go before God - the Altar of Sacrifice. That is where God has met with men in the past! Many of the "messengers," both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, were HUMAN messengers, although there were some who were supernatural messengers from God. Some read too much into these "messengers," and we have let this view get WAY out of hand! Even in Hebrews 13:2, consider seeing this passage as HUMAN messengers. Hebrews 13:2 (KJV) 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby somehave entertained angels unawares. It's not something "spooky and mysterious"; this passage could refer to ANYONE whose identity is not known! These "angels" are simply "messengers," whether supernatural or HUMAN! Not only do we have the account of the "three men" coming to Avraham, but we also have the "great woman of Shunem" who had fed and boarded a prophet of God before she and her husband knew that he was a prophet of God! And, what is a "prophet" if not a "messenger of God" sent to give God's message to the children of Israel? The same can be said for 1 Peter 1:10-12: 1 Peter 1:3-21 (KJV) 3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven (in the sky) for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation (rescue) ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, [even] the salvation of [your] souls. 10 Of which salvation THE PROPHETS HAVE ENQUIRED AND SEARCHED DILIGENTLY, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; WHICH THINGS THE ANGELS DESIRE TO LOOK INTO. 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, "Be ye holy; for I am holy." 17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. And, this passage begs the understanding of two more words that need to be better known: "heaven" (ouranos, οὐρανός) means the "sky," from which the Messiah will return, and "salvation" (sooteeria, σωτηρία) means "rescue" or "deliverance" and speaks of that rescue of His people that will happen when the Messiah returns to earth! Just some things to consider....
  8. Shalom, @DoaK1992 No, since you didn't act on your feelings, you only have been introduced to a weakness you might have. It's only sin if you act upon it, and go against what you know to be wrong. We all have tendencies toward something that could lead us into sin. Everyone has a weakness toward something that could be considered a temptation for him or her. Some are prone to like alchohol; others are prone to enjoy the feelings that certain drugs induce; still, others might be tempted by the look of a person of the opposite gender; others by the look of the same gender. We just have to guard our hearts and give their control to the Master, who has shown us how He dealt with His own temptations. Hang in there. Just remember that we are ALL sinners - those who have crossed the line in one way or another and have done something against God's Law or have neglected to follow something in God's Law, but God has given a way for His Law for us to be completed by His Son in dying upon the cross on our behalf. He provided the way through His Holy Spirit to give us the power to resist the temptations and minimize the errors in our lives, while He already took care of the RESULTS of those errors through His Son's death! One should also take to heart Yeeshuwa`s ("Jesus' ") words: Matthew 5:28 (KJV) 28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." This can be extrapolated to the other gender, as well. For the SAME GOD who said, Exodus 20:14 (KJV) 14 "Thou shalt not commit adultery." also said, Leviticus 20:13 (KJV) 13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." There are NOT "many laws"; there are MANY COMMANDMENTS (613, not just 10) within the ONE Law of God. We just need to come humbly to God and ask Him for Yeeshuwa`s sacrifice to be applied to our lives: Yeeshuwa` ("Jesus") said, Luke 18:9-14 (KJV) 9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, "'God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.' 13 "And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, "'God be merciful to me a sinner.' 14 "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." We exchange places with God through the sacrifice of His Son: 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) 21 For he (God) hath made him (the Messiah or Christ) to be "sin" for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made "the righteousness of God" in him (in the Messiah or in the Christ). This is the transfer! Yeeshuwa` (Jesus) BECAME "our sin" on the cross, and God the Father poured out His judgment against Him as "our sin!" Now, we CAN BECOME "God's Righteousness" found in His Messiah or in His Christ! So, when God looks at you (after you've made Christ's soul a sacrifice for sin), He no longer sees your sins; He sees HIS OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, instead! When that application of Christ's sacrifice has been applied to your life, then you become a NEW creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)! You are "born again (John 3:3-8)!" All you need to do is ASK HIM to apply it to you! Isaiah 53:10-11 (KJV) 10 Yet it pleased the LORD (God the Father) to bruise him; HE hath put [him, the Messiah] to grief: when thou shalt make his (the Messiah's) soul an offering for sin, HE (God) shall see [HIS (God's)] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his (the Messiah's) soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. This is how God JUSTIFIES you, and He DECLARES you "His own righteousness!" This is how you are "BORN AGAIN!"
  9. Shalom, Slibhin. Sorry, but being a "Jewish Christian" only SEEMS like an "oxymoron" TO YOU! And, what will you say when Yeeshuwa` (יֵשׁוּעַ) returns and you realize that He IS G-D'S ULTIMATE MESSIAH after all, WHOM YOU REJECTED?! Choose your words more carefully. You DON'T KNOW what you don't know, and G-D has a way of keeping the Jews BLIND to their Messiah until it is their time to see G-D'S POWER REVEALED!
  10. Shalom, @NConly. Sorry, but your statement is not necessarily correct. There ARE some situations where the life of the child may be sacrificed for the life of the mother. A couple may have another child, but not if the mother dies, and the child will not have the love of the mother's care if the child survives the mother's death. Sometimes, the doctors may rule that it's an "either ... or" situation, where it comes down to the life of one must be sacrificed for the life of the other. On the other hand, it should NOT be required by law to make such decisions! Nor should it lie in the hands of the doctor! It must be the will of the parents, preferably under the guidance of the Ruwach haQodesh Elohiym (the Holy Spirit of God), to make this decision, and the decision should NOT be made lightly! Occasionally, it may be the choice of BOTH parents to sacrifice the mother's life for the sake of the child's life. Sometimes, it may be the will of the parents to try again in the future, and say REVERENTLY AND WITH MUCH SORROW AND REGRET to say good-bye to the child and end the life of the child, who would not make it through the birth anyway! Again, this should NOT be left up to the courts to decide! Each situation is DIFFERENT AND UNIQUE! Only by much prayer and seeking God's will should such a decision be made! However, in ALL cases, the life of the child should be VALUED and RESPECTED as a gift from God that should NEVER BE TAKEN LIGHTLY! Just some things to think about BEFORE we make this a court matter!
  11. Shalom, Mr. M. I just did. See my response to enoob57. I dunno. I guess I thought I heard a leaning toward that persuasion. Sorry if I got it wrong. No, I just know that several Christians apply this to the present instead of to the future, as though the "new heavens and a new earth" were symbolic or allegorical. Again, I'm sorry if I read you wrongly. Just know, however, that this "New heavens (skies) and new earth" won't happen until haSatan has been chained up for a thousand years and is once again released. This is what the "Millennium" actually is. The Kingdom of the Messiah over Israel will last FOREVER! And, we will be a part of that Kingdom, for why would we be separated from the Messiah who will be reigning here on the new earth FOREVER?! Furthermore, we shall REIGN WITH HIM, NOT JUST FOR A THOUSAND YEARS, BUT FOREVER!
  12. Shalom, enoob. I'll answer your question with a question: Why would we "take all - total - of all knowledge and remove it?" There are GOOD THINGS that God has revealed through His thinkers - like Sir Isaac Newton, for instance. Not all knowledge is bad! However, the knowledge that one acquires must be tempered with godly WISDOM! And, "the FOOL has said in his heart, 'There is no God'!" In computers, for instance, we have certain hacks that people can learn and use. They can be used to write viruses and worms and other malware to steal from individuals or destroy systems, OR they can be used to PROTECT people through anti-virus programs! The ONLY ONE on whom we need to rely is the ONLY ONE "not of this world," and that is YHWH GOD! However, HE has made the world and will not allow it to be defeated by anyone, least of all by haSatan! He will form the world out of the Fire, just as He formed this one, out of the Flood! And, we will LIVE FOREVER upon the New Earth! The New Jerusalem will be our "house" and the New Earth will be our "backyard!" We were not created to "live in Heaven." We were created to live upon the earth! Furthermore, the REAL "heaven" is the air we breathe! It's where the birds fly, and where the weather is formed! When Yeeshuwa` comes again, we don't go "TO Heaven!" We go THROUGH the heavens - through the skies - and land with Him in the Middle East! He will be zealous for His people! And, He will not only win them back, but He will TAKE back the Land from anyone laying claim to it unlawfully! He will do battle with His enemies, and He will finally reign in Jerusalem on His Father's behalf!
  13. Shalom, R. Hartono. Ah, but that is NOT "the end!" It was only a temporary set-back! The MESSIAH - the One ANOINTED by God to be the ULTIMATE King of Israel - is RETURNING!
  14. Shalom, Mr. M. Ah! But 1 Corinthians 15:28 follows 1 Corinthians 15:20-27! Keep it in its context, and this verse is talking about IN THE FUTURE! 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 (KJV) 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits (singular) of them that slept. 21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: (0) Christ the firstfruits (singular); (1) afterward they that are Christ's at his (Christ's) coming. 24 (2) Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he (Christ) must reign, till he (God) hath put all enemies under his (Christ's) feet. 26 The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death. 27 For he "hath put ALL THINGS under his feet" (Psalm 8:6). (But when he saith "all things are put under [him," it is] manifest that "he" [God] is excepted, which did "put all things under him [Christ].") 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him (Christ), THEN shall the Son also himself be subject unto him (God) that put all things under him (Christ), that God may be all in all. Paul quoted Psalm 8:6; here's the psalm in its entirety: Psalm 8:1-9 (KJV) 1 [[To the chief Musician upon Gittith (a lyre from Gath), A Psalm of David.]] O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, [and whatsoever] passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth! proving that this psalm is about the Messiah. Thus, Paul was talking about DURING the Messiah's initial reign after the time of the First Resurrection "at His coming" and before "the end," which is about the Second Resurrection associated with the Great White Throne Judgment, AND AFTER the GWTJ. This is what Revelation 20 called the "Thousand Years" or in Latin, the "Millennium."
  15. Shalom, Vine Abider. The spirit (breath) is separated from the soul (the air-breathing-creature) whenever a person DIES! They are united again in the RESURRECTION, after the soul (air-breathing creature) is re-created as God remembers him or her. Then, we (our bodies) are transformed into immortal, incorruptible, gloriously bright, powerful, and quite PHYSICAL bodies (still just us)! The word "spirit-ual," as Paul used it in 1 Cor. 15, is contrasted with "natural" (or "soul-ual") And, just as "soul-ual" means "breathing" as in an "air-breathing body" or a "breathing body," the word "spiritual" means "BLASTING," as in an "AIR-BLASTING body," BLASTING LIKE A WIND! This is REALLY important to understand, because "spiritual" does NOT mean "immaterial" or "other worldly!" You're not wrong about "what we need to do on a daily basis," but the TERMINOLOGY is wrong.
