  1. Wishing A Happy Thanksgiving To My Worthy Family May God bless you all in your celebrations tomorrow
  2. THANKSGIVING Thanksgiving comes but once a year And now that day is almost here To count our blessings; and in love Bring praises to our God above *Gifts come down from the God of light And we're beloved in His sight We don't deserve the wondrous grace He offers to our human race *For Jesus died on Calvary So we could live eternally And in great victory rose again To bring salvation to all men To those of us who know Him In this, we shall rejoice And to our precious Savior We will lift a grateful voice For on this day we celebrate With so much to be thankful for We'll fellowship and eat our feast But it's Christ we shall adore * "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17) * "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:3–5)
  3. @angels4u Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving, sister! I'm enjoying the trivia questions you are posting. December 25th is coming quickly. You are one step ahead. God bless you. answer: the angel Gabriel
  4. I thought this was a fitting hymn to post with Thanksgiving Day being tomorrow August Storm composed this hymn in 1891: Thanks to God for my Redeemer, Thanks for all Thou dost provide! Thanks for times now but a memory, Thanks for Jesus by my side! Thanks for pleasant, balmy springtime, Thanks for dark and stormy fall! Thanks for tears by now forgotten, Thanks for peace within my soul! Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered, Thanks for what Thou dost deny! Thanks for storms that I have weathered, Thanks for all Thou dost supply! Thanks for pain, and thanks for pleasure, Thanks for comfort in despair! Thanks for grace that none can measure, Thanks for love beyond compare! Thanks for roses by the wayside, Thanks for thorns their stems contain! Thanks for home and thanks for fireside, Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain! Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow, Thanks for heav’nly peace with Thee! Thanks for hope in the tomorrow, Thanks through all eternity! REPORT THIS AD ~ August L. Storm, 1891
  5. @maryjayne Thanks for posting this. It is so comforting. I love it!
  6. @other one Thank you for sharing this beautiful personal testimony. I will be praying for her. I praise the Lord that He has been helping her to function better. He is an amazing God. He heals us in His way and His time. Little by little sometimes. I love how He answered you in that undeniable voice of His. It is so HIM. This moved me to tears. Though I know it has been really difficult for both of you, God has managed to bring meaning and beauty out of it. Your love has further blossomed and He has strengthened your marriage. God is awesome. He often works in mysterious ways. Just the fact that you are sharing this now and it will speak to some who needed to read this... I know I sure did.
  7. Wishing you all a happy fall. Enjoy. Winter will be here before ya know. THIS LITTLE PUMPKIN IS THE BEST ONE IN THE PATCH "Blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock. (Deuteronomy 28:4)
  8. @maryjayne With these charlatans, it can be almost funny in that some of the tactics they come up with to get at your money are so ridiculous. But thanks for bringing this aspect up, sis. The faith healing movement is a serious matter indeed, in that it can place false condemnation upon those who are the weakest... the elderly, those with incurable diseases, etc. I call that the 'kick them when they're down' syndrome. Scripture calls Satan the accuser of the brethren. Case in point. Promising healings that do not come is (imo) insensitive at best; reckless and cruel, at worst...Telling folks to throw out their medications and stop seeing doctors (even pregnant women) is dangerous advice.
  9. @Blood Bought 1953 You know what? They really do crazy stuff like that. They will claim they are sending you dirt from the holy land. Or what about the handkerchiefs they claim will emit healing power to you? All for a tidy fee, of course. Ahem. News flash. They are not the Apostle Paul.
  10. I've also heard it called 'blab it and grab it.' I just thought of one now...'stake it and take it.' As in stake your faith in what they teach ya and you will be able to take away the 'harvest' from your 'seed faith' Yeah...right. When pigs fly.
  11. Yep. Laughing all the way to the bank... him (not the one who was duped.)
  12. @maryjayne What wonderful lyrics these are! Thanks so much for posting this. I came across this just when I needed it. How refreshing to my soul! I have a thread where people share hymns with each other. I welcome you to visit it for edification for yourself. And anyone else who is interested... Please come and join me in lifting up the name of Jesus. Maryjayne, I'd love for you to post "Nearer, still nearer" over there. Here is a link that leads to it:
  13. Where The Truth Is Found Charlatans are everywhere Of their charms we must beware Smooth and buttery lies they tell What they do, they do so well Signs and wonders are the bait Mass deception is the fate The ungrounded follow soon When the piper plays his tune Non-offensiveness endears Tickling throngs with itching ears Those not rooted in God's word Often fall for what they've heard They pretend they're seasoned sages But look deep in scripture's pages You will see what they are hiding And how they are not dividing Scripture in a balanced way That's when error comes to play In the Bible we've been told We must be like men of old Those Bereans day and night Wanting to know wrong from right Sought the scriptures eagerly So the truth of God they'd see With false prophets all about We must flesh its pages out That is where the truth is found Though deceivers may abound Hearken not to all you hear... Let God's Spirit make it clear!
  14. @Debp Excellent tips. Refreshing to read. Thanks.
  15. @Debp This is a beautiful version of a comforting hymn.
  16. Thanks for both videos and the link to the hymn... I look forward to more by them being posted.
  17. Here are the lyrics to this thought-provoking and touching song. How can they live without Jesus? How can they live without Jesus? How can live without God's love? How can they feel so at home down here When there's so much more up above? Throwin' away the things that matter They hold on to things that don't. The world has gone crazy But soon maybe a lot more are gonna know. For maybe they don't understand it Or maybe they just haven't heard Or maybe we're not doin' all we can Living up to His holy word 'Cause phonies have come and wrongs been done Even killing in Jesus name And if you've been burned here's what I've learned The Lord's not the one to blame For He's not just a religion With steeples and bells Or a salesman who will sell you The things you just want to hear For His love was such That he suffered so much To cause some of us Just to follow, follow So many laughing at Jesus While the funniest thing that He's done Is love this whole stubborn rebellious world While their hate for Him just goes on And love just like that Will bring him back For the few He can call His friends The ones He's found true who've made it through Enduring until the end The ones He's found true who've made it through Enduring until the end
