  1. Thanks for all who have been praying for me and my kids. Thought I'd update you.

My daughter has been diligently doing job interviews and has still not received any call backs. My son is having ongoing stomach pain. My neurological problems have been more frequent and severe lately. I so need a break from them!

Wish I had a good report. But when I do, I will let you guys know and be sure to give the praise to the Lord. :emot-nod:

  2. Sometimes trials come at us fast and furious. In the midst of it all we may find ourselves feeling overwhelmed. I know I do. There are parts of our life that just don't seem to make sense. At least as far as human reasoning goes. This is when the Lord tells us that we are to "walk by faith not by sight."

Scripture says this on the matter-

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

    (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Keeping this in mind, we can pray something like this:

Oh Lord who knows all...I have no idea why all of this is happening right now. From my human rationale it seems pointless and even too much. But I know Your word says that You will "never allow me to be tempted above that which I am able but will with the temptation give me a way of escape that I may be able to bear it."

You also said that "no weapon formed against me shall prosper" and that "all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose."

I believe Your word is truth. These scriptures can be trusted. YOU can be trusted. You must have your reasons. So help me to trust You and bring me through to the other side without crumbling. Comfort me as only You can. Strengthen me.

Let me take a lesson away from this that I can one day use to help someone in a similar situation. I love you and thank You for loving me.

    In Jesus' Name, amen.

  3. The Lord knows we are weak and dependent on Him for our every breath. Never hesitate to cry out to Him in your darkest hour. This form of prayer should not be suppressed. After all, He knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We can not fool Him by putting on a mask of false bravado. We should rather approach Him as little children who are unpretentious  and say just what they mean. Often, they blurt stuff out in what some may call 'inappropriate' ways. But at least they are being honest.

Remember-we are never telling God something He does not already know. But in His longsuffering He allows us to pour out our hearts. In doing so, He is giving us an opportunity to choose to trust Him. This conflict in prayer can give way to surrender and perfect peace.

The NLT words it this way...

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

  4. Could you please pray for my ankle and the top of my right foot? There is pain and difficulty in flexing my foot backwards. This is making it hard to get up off a chair, walk, climb stairs, etc....pray I don't fall.

Also, my neurological problems have been especially bad lately.

@marvelloustime I pray these promises minister to your :broken_heart: heart and restore it. Along with the various ones I am posting for you throughout the forums. May the scriptures soothe you...

    Please can you pray.

@marvelloustime :12:My heart has been so heavy for you ever since your prayer request. It sure seems that 'when it rains, it pours.'

Father, I don't pretend to understand why so much is happening all at once. But I do stand on Your word for my precious sister. You promised You would never leave us nor forsake us. You said You would supply all our need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  You said You would keep those whose minds are fixed on You in perfect peace. Please surround Becky with Your presence right now. Give her a strengthening reassurance that You will help her at this overwhelming time. I know she loves You and looks to You. You know how she would rather not go into the hospital. Touch her body with Your healing. Thank You for hearing our prayers for her.

    In Jesus' Name, amen

I will continue to pray for you, sis.

@EllaGrace :th_wave: Nice to see you again!

This scripture is part of my life verses.:D

"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."  (Ephesians 2:8-10)

  8. The power of the tongue should be stressed in raising children.

We must teach our kids by example by watching what we ourselves say.

Letting them know that controlling the tongue is vital, as the book of James so strongly admonishes.

Teaching them not to cuss, not to speak unkindly to others, not to repeat gossip, and not to sass parents and authority figures such as their teachers...are all cases in point.
