  1. Prove it. Show me some scripture that says the the 144,000 are going to be a special witness to the world. Show me some scripture that says the 144,000 are going to be traveling anywhere else in the world other then in Israel. You can't show me any scriptural proof of your assumption because there is none. In fact the bible doesn't even say that the 144,000 will be preaching the gospel. The only place the bible says that the 144,000 will be is in Israel and the bible doesn't say anything about there ministry taking place during any tribulation period. I do believe that the 144,000 will be preaching the gospel but only to the Jews while they are in Israel and not to the rest of the world. You are right to say that there is no scripture to point to, but just as the Two Witnesses are to be seen by the world, so can the 144,000. In this technical age, it is possible to see something happen on the opposite side of the world in just a few seconds. It is my belief that God will use the same means ... news is news. In Christs Love, OneLight spelling ...
  2. I love your Wisdom you brought to us through the Spirit, Sister.
  3. The 144,000 Jews are those who are sealed by God and will be a special witness to the world during the tribulation. I believe many will be saved because of their witness. I love this scripture. Revelation 14:1-5 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father
  4. Greetings Brother Massorite, I took the time to consider your words and look up what the original meaning of these words are in Spiros Zodhiates Th.D. The Complete Word Study Dictionary, New Testament. During this study, I was directed to another passage where Paul and Timothy wrote to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi. First, you mentioned the word confident. The dictionary describes this word as follows: To be of good cheer, have courage, be full of hope and confidence. In 2 Corinthians 1:1, we read: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia. This would point to the fact that this is how Paul and Timothy believed, and they were bringing the truth to those in Corinth. Then we can look up the word "rather", which is stated to be used in a general use, meaning that they would rather be. There is also the word "present", which is described as follows: One who is home, in his own country, or among his own people, an organized body of people, to be present in any place or with any person. This shows that it is, in fact, being with Christ. So the passage does mean exactly what it says. Paul and Timothy are confident that being absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Then, as stated, I was directed to Philippians 1:19-26. It reads as follows: For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again. This, again, tells us that when we depart from this flesh, we are to be with Christ. Now, one can argue that we all sleep upon death until the last trumpet. I do not argue this at all, for it is stated in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52. Yet, while we sleep in death, time means nothing. So, when we die (sleep), the very next thing we know, we are with the Lord. In short, we are both correct. Your Brother In Christ, OneLight
  5. Yes, I agree. In a communication class I took in college, we spent a good amount of time "putting ourselves in the readers seat" in order to see if what we were putting to print is really what we wanted to get across. Many more times then not, we all had to reword our statements in order to portray the meaning that was intended. The trouble here is that we act way too fast because of our flesh. OneLight
  6. Jesus knows every single thought and word before we even have it. Will we give an account for everything said? Does it say that somewhere in the Bible? I've never read that but I'm not as learned as some here... Matthew 12:33-37 A Tree Known by Its Fruit
  7. There is a BIG difference between being angry for the sake of rebuke or reproof then demeaning another person for the sake of being right. OneLight
  8. First of all you have made the same mistake that many have and always made about these verses. Your highlited words say"We are confident, That was no mistake. I am confident that when I die, I become absent from this body and present with the Lord. I am also confident that I am saved. Both take faith. OneLight
  9. What is to be done about this? How do we see this resolved? It begins in our own hearts and spreads out from there. We, each of us, when we speak to others, must examine our hearts before we allow our tongues/ fingers to relay the message. It is an individual responsibility. If the mods stepped in every time we acted from our flesh, then there would be discord toward the mods, thinking that they are power hungry. They can not be held responsible for what others do. They do a good job putting out fires, but they are only a few and miss flareups now and then. I have reported threads and particular posts that I felt were not worthy of this board and they had to choose what to do. Sometimes they agreed, but other times they did not. In the end, it is up to us, as individuals in Christ, but being of the same Body. If we look with the Spirit, we can see the revelation of the Church. All we need to do is open our spiritual eyes. Remember, the Spirit will guide us in ALL truth. Your Brother In Christ, Onelight
  10. The trailer is intriguing. I'll have to check it out. I'm not scientific by any means ... will this take away from the film and his discussion? OnrLight
  11. Not to take away from what you shared with us, but I also have had a blessing on this day, 24 years ago. My youngest son was born this day. To tie it in with what you shared, he loves nature. God Bless, OneLight
  12. I like this bit of scripture: Ephesians 5:17-19 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, I use to get drunk, to the point of blackouts. It all started wondering if I was doing anything wrong by having just a few ... Funny thing, I found out I was allergic to alcohol. I kept breaking out in handcuffs. OneLight
  13. Here is wisdom that Peter wrote to those whom he taught. As I prayed, the Spirit brought these words to my heart. These words describe what I would like to say to all of us, including myself, as we continue reaching to others. We need to remember, that the Gentiles of yesterday are the nonbelievers of today that read our very words and observe our very actions. 1 Peter 2:1-12 NKJV Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
  14. I agree with what you have said here Sister, but allow me to comment on a few points of your post. I completely understand your parable about the house and truly accept that others see things different then I do. Never a problem, as long as we can disagree with out hurting each other. In your parable, you mentioned that they all discussed what they saw, not arguing if the house they saw was the correct house and that the others must be blind for they are wrong. There is a difference. Your love shows through. I have seen more of this lately, not only a friend of the devil, but also twisting a Brother or Sister to a point the he uses us for his gain. We have dropped our Whole Armor of God and entered the arena ready for battle. Your Brother In Christ, Onelight
  15. For the whole truth of love, read all of 1 Corinthians 13 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Onelight
  16. You all have kind and loving words. When I say that I'm thinking of taking a break, I mean just that. Backing off until the heat settles and this board is back to it's loving way, people reaching out to help others in pain, wisdom being typed for others to read that they never had met, encouragement being shed as a beam of light in a storm. This is the Worthy Board that I saw when I came on board. Teaching from the heart for those of us who had not learned. Am I blinded? I think not. The Spirit put a peace in my heart when I joined. Why, I'm not sure, but He did. I was searching for a group that Love the Lord with all their heart, with all their soul, with all their mind, and with all their strength. A people who love their neighbor as themselves. I found it here, yet, the past couple of weeks others have brought anger in with their words, typing as if their lives depended on being right at any cost, proving that they are right by demeaning their Brother or Sister. This hurts. Not me as much as the offended and the offender. The one doing the damage is also damaging their own walk and grieving the Spirit at the same time. They are ignoring the gift of the fruits of the Spirit. The offended is left feeling unloved, cast aside and broken. This I see by the Spirit and it grieves me. I also have great love for all here, those who I look up to, those who I am a peer with and those who will come. None of us are less in Gods eyes and should not be less in ours. In Gods Love, Alan
  17. Bless you Traveller. I never knew the history of this place and your words are encouraging, and the same to others. In just the short time, since September, I have spent a lot of my down time here and has been used by God in many ways. It is just recently that I have noticed more hateful remarks then before. Maybe the use of the Soap Box would give people the time to reply in a more civil manner instead of having to race to post ... I don't know. Yes, we are just as human as the next, but our eyes should be on Christ, for we are a people set apart from the world. OneLight
  18. Here is a good example of how Brothers are treating each other ... America has abandoned us. Show me the love in this thread. Axxman ... I see that you have, but does it change the heart of another who does not want to be changed? At the same time, shiloh357 feels that he is being attacked. When does one back off and take a look at the whole instead of what is in front of them and the anger in their hearts? This is the type of anger that does not settle in my heart at all. As I said, I have grown to love people here in Christ and it does hurt when I see those that I have admired for their knowledge and love for Christ, turn and tear someone apart. I am not pointing at the two of you , but it is just coincidence that when I was writing this post, I had noticed that you have just posted a reply. I had already picked the thread I was going to use as an example, so please accept my apology if this example causes you any grief. It was not intended to. OneLight
  19. I admit to my share of heated posts, but I also have tried to bring peace into threads that have gotten out of hand. The reply I have gotten is basically the same as your statement about being passionate. Other replies are basically telling me that we have to correct another when they have erred. Then there are those who just don't care how they address someone else. It 's those posts that personally attack another, trying to make their rival feel inadequate, stupid and inferior in some way. Debating and arguing is not the problem, it is the attitude that is sad. Check through the listings of threads on any given day and see how many are not showing the fruits of the Spirit, but are displaying the fruits of the flesh. We think we are being Christians, but are we really? It seems like we are just trying to act like one. Tell me my friend, when does one say to themselves that nobody is listening? When a person does not want to change, how long is someone to keep trying? Yes, we are all human, not mater how much we desire to be like Christ, but after awhile, watching the same type of arguments go on and on and not see the Love of Christ at all, I do get discouraged. BTW ... I don't consider it running away at all. I consider it keeping my peace by not watching. Can you remember being in a situation where you said to yourself ... enough is enough? OneLight edited for grammatical and spelling errors, plus adding one sentence.
  20. I'm about to take a break myself. I love everyone here, but I can't stand the anger. OneLight
  21. I've not been here very long and I have noticed a sharp change in the threads. I was attracted here because people discussed issues, sometime a little heated, but there was very little name calling and down right anger as I see in new threads lately. Why is this? Have we forgotten to treat each other as we want to be treated? Have we forgotten to love one another? I miss having an honest discussion where different beliefs are displayed without all the meanness. Your Brother In Christ, OneLight
  22. Then it is just on step forward to His Second Coming! I'm just totally embarrassed and sickened by what Washington is doing to Israel.
  23. Do you really support Bush 100%? Do you agree with everything he has said and done?? Praying for them is a long way from backing them, is it not? OneLight edited for spelling
  24. Goes to prove that money is the main issue in movie making. This is a shame all around. Then ... on the other hand, maybe having to "put herself" in the image of Mary will allow her to see how far she really is from Christ? OneLight
