  1. The Jabez prayer isn't saying pray those things over and over again in those exact words. It's asking God to use you for his work in the best way he sees fit. IF you see it as asking for me me me I don't think that's what it was meant as. It's meant to be something you ask God for. It'd be like saying, "God prepare me for the trials and make me ready for the ones you're sending my way today." Or even asking God to send you trials. The Jabez prayer says "I want to work for you GOd but I can't do that without you!" Just thought I'd add that )
  2. I think there are times when we all feel there is no reason to keep going or keep trying but that's satan talking. You are allowing yourself to be used by satan. You are making yourself a stumbling block for others instead of going to God and crying out your pain and trouble to him. I will pray for you and everyone else who feels without hope, abandoned and lost because I know without a shadow of doubt that Jesus Christ is alive in the world today and he is moving with force to save the world for him. I know for a fact that he has a plan for everyone of us here and I also know that he didn't promise me a life without pain and I haven't had one but I know that he loves me unfailingly and it is Satan that causes the evil to happen. I know that I need not fear in a place where those around me have been abused, when I have been abused, when I'm in pain I go and seek the shelter of God's embrace. I know that I have no reason to be afraid and everyday have a reason to choose joy. If you are feeling as you are talk to someone close to you who can look you in the eye and tell you what you need to hear because I know that the Holy Spirit is not done with you, will never be done with you, and will wait for you until you decide to return but remember, we are not promised tomorrow and I want to go to my God with a smile and the knowledge that I did my best to serve him with all I am.
  3. But I was under the impression repeating anything (whether it began with meaning or not) for too long makes it become meaningless and the reason I'm asking is. I have a lot of Catholic friends and they say the same prayers over and over and over again to where you forget you're even saying them anymore and totally ignore it. That's wrong right? I'm not sure and I know some people keep them from becoing too meaningless but even the pledge of alleigance grows automated after saying it for the first fifteen days in a row.
  4. Okay I'm going to tell you speaking as a fifteen year old Creed is one of the better "heathen" bands out there. Despite the fact that they say they are not Christian I find their lyrics more uplifting than anything I've heard from P.O.D. I mean even though they are an openly Christian band I can barely make out what they're saying much less it's correlation to God. Eminem is openly hating of God while Creed admits to having been thinking about religion and that is indeed what sparked many of their songs. It's hard to know what to listen to I have the luck of not being able to get the local Christian staion in my home because of our walls. Be careful though, my brother listens to more and more secular music as wee encourage him to listen to uplifting music so don't push too hard. remember: JESUS LOVES YOU!!!
  5. Okay I know in the bible it says not to use repetitive prayer but for the life of me I can't find it right now. COuld anyone help me with this? I don't want to start a huge debate or anything but I really need to know (didn't know where else to put it) Remember: JESUS LOVES YOU!!!
