There is more to that verse to keep it in context. That is only a part of the list believers were to do. Some believers combine the meaning of building up yourselves on your most holy faith "by" praying in the Holy Ghost but that is not what was written. It is a list of practises to do as the next verse continued with that list. Jude 1:1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. But to touch on that part of the verse, praying in the Holy Ghost.... So when believers are praying for the Holy Spirit to come, they are praying out of the Holy Ghost. They are not praying in the Holy Ghost. They can't be praying IN the Holy Ghost if they are praying for Him to come. The above verse does not say.. praying TO the Holy Ghost nor does it say praying FOR the Holy Ghost. Jesus is still the only Mediator between God and man. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Did Jesus really mean that or not? So the whole point of telling the Samaritan woman was that a time will be coming ( and now is) when true worshippers will not need to go to the mountains nor to Jerusalem because.. why? Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and we will worship who? The Father IN spirit and IN truth. It did not say we will worship the Holy Spirit. The reference to God is a Spirit is to break away the walls of a building or the confinement of any worship place as a place to come to God, for He will be with us always as Jesus promised at the end of Matthew 28. So do our words match our faith or are we saying and doing things as if Pentecost must occur again and again as if we have not come to our resting place in Jesus Christ when we came to Him and thus never worshipping the Father IN spirit and IN truth?? And remember John 14:6? When there are no place to come to God anymore, then the invitation is the commandment as the only way to approach the Father in worship is through the Son. He'd said so. And the world wonders if the promises of God are really all yea in Christ Jesus when believers do not act like they have received Him yet or see that the promises of God was only partial in that they are not filled with the Spirit as believers must continually seek that which God promised by Jesus Christ so we can rest in Him. How can anyone believe that faith in Jesus Christ is enough when a spiritual yoke is placed for believers to seek after another Spirit.. another door to open.. another invitation to go to? If Jesus is the Good News, then there should be no missing addendum as if He is not the full gospel.

Jesus had massive followings from time to time. They did not continue to follow Him. The disciples were pretty much the ones that stuck with Him during most of His ministry. John the Baptist had drawn crowds. Many believed, but did not remain continuously. It is obvious to me when reading this that they did not know that Jesus was the One that John was prophesying about to come because they were not there at the time He had come. Not everyone that was baptized by John was there. Not every believer of John would be present. Neither would every disciple of John's. Where were they when he got arrested and thrown in jail where later, he was beheaded? This is why they did not know about the Holy Spirit. They were not baptized in Jesus' name: but of John's.

That is not how you discern the gift of tongue. Suffering your houses to be broken through by a thief. No... just what is going on today with tongues. It is not the same as it was given in the early churches and nor is it being practised as instructed in the early churches either. From God that it is accompanied by the interpretation of tongues... it is good. That would be like giving a talent that is profittable to the body withal, but giving tongues without interpretation and to be used as a prayer language is like burying that talent, and I know God would not do that. Not listening to the Holy Spirit anymore nor are we being led by Him to do that #2. Once you get sober, the Spirit is still in you because your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and once sober.. the fruit of temperance (self control)is there as well. We are called to walk in the Spirit... not out of Spirit as if one must call for a continual filling. It is by walking in the Spirit that we avoid walking in the flesh. We can't do that if we are out of the Spirit constantly for the flesh to take over. That is hardly a rest promised by Jesus for coming to Him. Is His promise sure? Then they are wayward in regards to this topic... as in following disorderly and not after the tradition taught of us. Because, brother, one is ignoring the Holy Spirit when they are not keeping their eyes on Jesus Christ. If we are truly led by the Spirit, our eyes are on Jesus Our Mediator, Good Shepherd, and High Priest. It would be the same thing like if you were testifying so as to glorify Jesus Christ, but for some reason, your congregation are not looking to Christ Jesus anymore, they are looking to you as if you are the mediator, the shepherd, and the high priest. Then it is no mystery in how believers left themselves open for false spirits to steal the spotlight in the worship place because by the scriptures, the indwelling Holy Spirit would never do that nor glorify any movement of the "spirit".... but wayward believers will to justify taking their eyes off of Jesus... even for a moment. That is why Matthew 7:13-27 & Luke 13:24-30 keeps telling wayward believers that if they want to be found ready, they need to narrow the Way back to the straight gate in relating to God the Father through the Son only. That is Whom the indwelling Holy Spirit is pointing you towards, brother, if you are ever going to have any hope of avoiding false spirits as well as false prophets.

Same way I read this: Acts 4:6And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, That was within the same chapter leading up to the event of verse 31. In other words, the point of saying Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost was to signify that the words he was speaking were the words from what the Holy Spirit was giving him to speak. In the same context, in verse 31, they spake the word of God with boldness. People that look to the supernatural aquaint being filled with the Holy Ghost with the place being shaken where they were assembled together, but Peter was not aquainted with a shaking when he spoke the word of God in verse 8, and yet Luke bothered to refer to the fact that Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost so that as the reader read on, they would know that Peter was not the one speaking per se, but the words being given to him was by the Holy Ghost when he spoke... just as the words that holy Ghost gave are from the Father through Jesus. John 16:13-15 If anyone thinks they have to pray for this to happen as in preaching the word of God with boldness, Peter did not. He has been given instructions by Jesus earlier that he is to not give it a thought or pre-meditate upon it..... so that would include praying about it too. Matthew 10:18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. So wayward believers really need to quit picking out verses in the Book of Acts that clearly goes against scriptures written plainly elsewhere like the letters of instructions to the early churches regarding our faith because they are applying Acts to their supernatural experiences instead of towards the truth of the Gospel to discern by them.

And by knocking at the door of Jesus, you have received the Holy Spirit. When you hear people preaching another baptism of the Holy Spirit that comes with evidence of tongues, will you ask them if they were given a stone, or a serpent, or a scorpion at salvation? For anyone to seek another baptism of the Holy Spirit is a person acting like they did not received Him at all at salvation. For anyone to seek a continual filling of the Spirit, they act like they are not a new creature in Christ Jesus to be able to hold the New Wine. Matthew 9:17Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. God calls the seven churches in evelation to examine themselves in the faith and start pruning those things that deny Him in words and in worship. Titus 1:15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. As it is, it does seem most defenders for tongues are not going to do that, even though some will acknowledge all the bad fruits coming out of it. I believe in the gifts of tongues wth interpretation, but the way they got it.. was not from seeking it from praying to Jesus Christ, but after the "Spirit". I find it disturbing that for those that profess having the Biblical tongues, they do not see the error of how those that got the unBiblical tongues was in the same why they got their Biblical tongues and thus I declare that the interpretors are winging it. If we are to test the spirits, then because of the apostasy that has been prophesied as coming and I say it is now here... those that hear His voice shall heed the call and go to Jesus in prayer for discernment. 1 Timothy 4: 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 2 Corinthians 13:5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? They need His help to discern that which voids the faith. I do not read it as meaning the same thing. If you use the KJV, then use the word it is using. God used this event to bring 3,000 souls into the Kingdom. Yet, you say it is Spirit Worship. Did those that speak in tongues sought the Spirit to get the tongues? No. But yet today, believers have to? And yet Paul exhorted by the Holy Spirit to seek prophesy over tongues but here we are with a teaching of another baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of tongues". What is wrong with this picture? Do you remember how the "holy laughter" movement happen across all denomenations in 1994 as reported by the 700 Club? A little leaven leavens the whole lump. All it takes to not look to Whom the indwelling Holy Spirit is pointing us to is a Nicene Creed to say it is aoky to worship the Spirit to unscriptural hymnals that single the Holy Spirit out in worship, even if it is one stanza after addressing the Father and the son as there are hymnals that focus entirely on the Holy Spirit alone: and the idea of needing a continual filling of the Spirit as in getting more of the Holy Spirit: and the idea that the Holy Spirit can be moving about in the worship place to be felt is why that is happening across the denomenation of the supernatural event that was only categorized as a streamlined pentecostal and charismatic event. Then why do you say believers residing in Christ seeking to be led of the Holy Spirit have a demon? Peace, Dave Those are somebody's else words. That means believers can be led astray in getting tongues without interpretation. 1 John 4: 1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. That means believers can be influenced by false spirits, otherwise, why bother testing them if they could not? Those that follow the voice of the Good Shepherd and not the stranger's voice will heed the call to do this. Luke 13:24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Matthew 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. That means that false prophets will broaden the Way to God the Father by offering another invitation and another Door than just the one to Christ Jesus... and they are doing it by offering one for the Spirit. Thus the call to narrow the way back to the straight gate: Jesus Christ, to avoid false prophets and false spirits. John 10:1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber......4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers........ 7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. A stranger's voice is as the world speaks and as the world hears: gibberish 1 John 4: 4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. You believe in Jesus Christ and thus you are of God, brother, BUT not every supernatural event in life is of God. Believers take pride in something they did not test nor discern by the Word of God.
