  1. I look at the beauty of the mountains and sunsets, and a golden summer day with the birds singing and children playing and I think this is just a shadow of what is to come. Look at the beauty in the ocean, and hear laughter ringing out loud. It's beyond my imagination, and I just can't wait to get there. Try to imagine the wedding feast and all of us there. One great big party with Jesus to celebrate the ending of this horrible world. How long do you think the party will last? What does food made in heaven taste like? Ok I'm getting exited now. Actually it has nothing to do with weakness. Look around it has to do with people accept what the majority accepts. Alot of christians fall into this trap. But the snare it set by Satan and any christian willing to overlook that is not in a good place themselves. We are not capable of being weak or strong. Only Christ can do that for us, if we have a close relationship with Him. As a christian who has to struggle with the issues of life and make decisions based on what life has to offer I do not ask everyone around me, so do you think this is ok. Or come on Teri just pull yourself up by the boot straps you'll get through it. No I ask Christ for strength and I ask Him is this ok? What happens then such as in the instance of reading material that is unacceptable to God is while I'm doing it I get convicted. Every swear word is like a pain, by that I mean I flinch. Early on in my walk I tried to get away with such behavior like watching movies that took the Lords name in vain. I even tried to change the words I was reading or skip them. Bottom line was I couldn't get around it, and I couldn't continue doing it without some sense of guilt. My relationship with Christ became more important and it wasn't such a big thing to give up compared to what I was going to receive in the end. The simple truth of the matter is we can live a decent life without this kind of entertainment and why would we not want to. There is so much good entertainment out there, you know stuff written before our lifetimes did not include all this vulgarities. I just see it as another way to feed our carnal natures. But I do trust God and from what I know of Him now that the subject is out in the open here He will bring it to the attention of those who need to pay attention. So my advise would be ask the Lord if it's ok with Him and see what happens. Love in Christ Teri

    Few are chosen

Did it ever dawn on anyone that it is not that God chose us by some random act. But that He actually knows the beginning and the end which would mean He knows ahead of time who will accept Him and who will reject Him. In that He puts us as evangelicals in the spots to tell those He already knows will listen. To that effect all we have to do is simply tell the truth of the gospel to those around us and let God take care of the rest. I don't believe in predetermination, what I believe is God knows the outcome already. He knows from the womb the condition of our hearts at death. Love in Christ Teri

The bottom line on it is the authors of these kind of works makes the real world of Satan look not only appealing but entertaining. It is called fiction and becomes fiction in peoples heads so the real trajadies that satan commits becomes ficticious. People don't understand it is a very real threat. As far as reading the Bible 24/7 nobody said that. If one were truly interested and went down to their local christian book store they would discover theres as many fiction writings there as there are learning tools. I just finished a book by Randy Alcorn. It was about a man who lost his sister and niece to gang fighting. It was about his journey to refind his faith but also contained the mystery of who dunnit, and the very real spiritual warfare going on in our streets for the souls of our young. So no you don't have to just read the Bible but there are many good christian fiction writers out there if you want to be entertained. We are only really here for a breath in time. Our real home is with Christ, I think if we truly understand that we are going home someday we can get through anything here even boredom. The thing I find funny is people actually think the Bible is boring. Nothing could be less true, and there is nothing boring about telling someone about Christ and see the dawning of understanding on anothers face. To watch the miracle of them getting it is exilarating. Love in Christ Teri
  5. Rollin Thunder Hi I had this same thought I think last Feburary. I mean about the one day a thousand years. I never calculated it out as you have. But I just knew it was right and the calendar was wrong. Nobody really wanted to hear about it though, so I quit saying it after a while. But I do believe you are correct and it does fit in with prophecy as i understand it. Thanks for the reminder. Love in Christ Teri
  6. Yes I have been betrayed by a friend in Christ. I spoke with her about personal matters in which she spoke to others and they spoke to others until it all came back to me. Albeit a bit twisted. I spoke with her about it, and asked why? She really didn't have a good answer and simply apologized. And she is my very best friend to this day. I am so grateful I did not walk away and just forgave the indiscretion because her husband died a year later and I would have had a hard time forgiving myself if I hadn't of been there. She sometimes brings it up and still seems to have a difficult time with her betrayal, I just tell her to forget about it. It's not like I lost my salvation or anything important over the whole deal. Sometimes I believe God uses situations like this to show someone something they may need to clean up in their lives. If they didn't hurt someone who they really love it wouldn't be as effective and as memorable. If you are a recipient of it just try to remember none of us are perfect. And you may just be being used for the good of others. Love in Christ Teri
  7. I like that Astralis, God does have a wonderful imagination and I also believes He loves to create. I like Xan had the experience of the more I got into Gods word the less I desired to read or watch anything of the dark side. It wasn't a big conviction thing, I just lost interest. There are many great fiction writers that don't go into those areas. I've gotten so disgusted with TV that I rarely watch it except to see the news, and even that is questionable. Idols is putting something in place of God. If I were to look around my house and say well what can I not live without it would have to be a clock. Our world runs by it, but that does not mean it takes precedence over God. I really do need it and He knows that. Love in Christ Teri

    If you....

Yes I would have to say faith is not just intellectual belief. There are many who profess to believe in Christ, but few who actually choose to follow Him. We as christians get alot out of following Christ that others do not understand. The things we get are internal, a sense of knowing we are saved would be one of these things. We can easily throw off the desire to follow the world because we just know we are headed for a better place. People who say they believe in Christ but are for instance unwilling to let go of a relationship with a non-believer because they are afraid truly do not trust Christ to know what is best for them. But I will say here it takes awhile for that level of trust to be established. It takes studying his word, prayer, fellowship and a firm belief. People early in their walk are not sure of their salvation, but it comes with time and developing a relationship with God. I have no idea if someone who was once saved can or would entirely lose their salvation. I do know that when I walked away before it was God that pulled me back. I can not speak for everyone else. And I also know he put in me a great desire to know Him and follow Him. Love in Christ Teri
  9. D I'm not talking politics, or human reasoning. Nor am I interested in a bunch of human logic or opinions. Nor do I wish to give you my opinion on this. What I asked you was if you are interested in going through the scripture to find out what God has to say about it? I'm not trying to convince you your wrong and I'm right. I'm trying to tell you that there just may be a chance the Good Lord has something to say about it. We have been over this alot with others who were only interested in spouting off their man made ideas. All of which were not interested in what scripture had to say about it. Either you believe the bible or you don't. It's a simple request, can you answer it? If you want to argue politics without scripture may I suggest MSNBC.com. Love in Christ Teri
  10. Ok Blind that all made sense but I still am stuck on the jump from England to America. Trust me I don't think the USA has a special place in being the great nation of God. But I am confused on this. Also there was already a people here, but not many. Why would this land have been left so empty back then. Do you have any reasoning why it all came down the way it did. I mean for it to fit into prophecy that was wrote that long ago God had to have planned for others to come here right? So if it was His intention that people came to populate this land from around the world how could that be bad? And for what purpose did God do it this way? As you can see I'm curious as usual. Love in Christ Teri
  11. That is actually pretty scary Wisdom, but don't you think we are also going to have to answer for that. I can't remember where it is in Ezekiel about having others blood on his hands if he doesn't warn them. ok I got it. Ezekiel 3 20 Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did I will not remember, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. I think we will also be judged for this, not in losing our salvation but a tongue lashing like Job got. I am sure there is someone that walks by me every single day that I should have said something to but didn't. I don't feel convicted by the Holy Spirit for this. I did have to have an encounter with a young man I ran into from our church tonight. He was dressed in goth and listening to some pretty horrible music. He is the leader for one of our youth groups, so it concerned me. We talked about it, and he had it all rationalized. The best I can hope for is that it put some doubt in his head. And of course I will be praying for him and talking to our pastor about it. Other than that what can we do. Love in Christ Teri
  12. Hey Jipsah thanks for not being offended. Anyway remember who started this whole thing about Christ's soon return. I believe it was Paul wasn't it. I know what you are referring to though, but I honestly have not met anyone who is doing that and we have a congregation of about 1500. Actually I run into the opposite problem where alot of christians are ignoring the signs of the times and going about their business as usual which is not holy to say the least. I think we should always be prepared for Christs return, but as you say still take care of the things we need to take care of. There seems to be a lack of christians that really dig into scripture which makes me end up here talking to you guys. Love in Christ Teri
  13. How can one say all of that and know scripture too? Read the book the good Lord gave you D and then come back and have a scripture based discussion rather than a media, or own opinion discussion on this. I asked you do you really want to know the truth? you have not responded leading me to believe you don't. That is truly sad. You'll be in my prayers. Love in Christ Teri
  14. I sometimes think of the White Throne Judgement when I read Job and the chewing out some will get. Where you when the earth was made? I read that with awe, fear, and proud to Love God. Love in Christ Teri
  15. Blind could you explain this better, you had me up until the connection of England and America representing England. If memory serves it was actually the Queen of Spain that doled out the ships and money for the first settlers here. The original guys from England ie captain Smith and gang died at Roanoke Virginia. Also the revelutionary war was fought by Irishmen, English, Spanish, Germans, etc. We did not all come from England in fact I don't have one ancestor in my family tree from there. One of my grandfathers is from here, as in native American. This country was founded by many from many nations, and is still that way today. So I guess besides England trying to dominate it I don't see the connection. Not that I think America is some kind of saint. Love in Christ Teri
