  1. This topic has caused a lot of confusion due to the fact that people seem to have different viewpoints on eternity. Lets get one thing straight. No one knows when the Lord is coming back and if they claim to know they are wrong. There are 3 verses that clearly state this fact. Matthew 24:36
  2. Faith is such a small word yet it has such a powerful impact on Christians and non-christians alike. For non-christians, they have to have faith when accepting Jesus into their hearts because they can
  3. The Lord put a message in my heart after I was discharged from the hospital recently (Yes God has wierd timing but he does things under his own timeline so who are we to question him) that I would consider a devotional/witnessing tool. So I will ask you to pray and find out what way God wants you to use this message. There will be many times unfortunetly in your walk with Christ that when you witness to someone they will reject what you are speaking. This is when you must remind them that when they say no to God's Word they are saying no to God himself because in John it states that God is the Word. You need to also spread the message to fellow Christians so that when they face the same rejection they have something to reply back with. We as Christians must keep this in mind. We were called by Jesus to bring the lost into the Light. So if we suffer persecution from 50 lost souls and still 1 comes to Christ that day we can consider it a successful day. Psalm 14:1 - Only fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." They are corrupt and their actions are evil; no one does good. This is a short but powerful verse. It is very specific. You have a choice to either stay corrupt and remiain doing evil things or see the truth and come to the Lord. Consider this, the true atheist is either foolish or wicked. Foolish because he ignores the evidence that God exists or wicked because he refuses to live by God's truth. We become atheists in practice when we rely more on ourselves then on God. To speak in direct defiance of God is utterly foolish according to the Bible. John 8:24 - "That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am who I say I am, you will die in your sins." Even though everyone will die at one time, it is up to you on where your final resting place will be. If you choose to live in sin then when you die your soul will join those sins in hell. But there is another way, a better way. This way is Jesus Christ. Even though we are all sinners we can choose to repent and ask the Lord to clean our hearts, come into our life and secure our final destination with him in heaven. John 5:39-42 - "You search the scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me so that I can give you this eternal life. Your approval or disapproval means nothing to me, because I know you don't have God's love within you. We must not get wrapped up in the religion that we lose sight of the real meaning of the Bible and where it points. Be careful not to seek out approval from your peers, for it only matters what God thinks about you and his approval. Another problem that some people have is they read the Bible and forget to spend time in prayer. They end up thinking they know what the Lord wants them to do without hearing his voice. Hebrews 6:18-19 - So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold onto his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God's inner sanctuary. This is such an encouraging set of scriptures if you truly understand them and take them to heart. One key part to this passage is it is impossible for God to lie. While many non christians may have a hard time believing this, it is very much true. When you ask God with openness, honesty, and sincerity to save you from your sins, he will do it. This truth shoud give you assurance and confidence. Becase of this truth, we can feel rest assured when we accept the Lord into our hearts he will indeed do it. Another fact that we can take to the bank is God is truth. And because he is truth we can be secure in his promises; you don't need to wonder if he will change his plans. Matthew 11:28-30 - Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light. All of us at one time in our life will fight through some battle or burden. While it may seem like we are alone with our battles but the Lord is there for us. All we have to do is call upon his name, ask him into our life and that burden will be taken care of. It is s great to know our Lord is humble and gentle and that he is able to relieve us of our troubles. The rest that Jesus promises is love, healing, and peace with God, not the end of all labor. A relationship with God changes meanigless, wearisome toil into spiritual productivity and purpose. Hebrews 10:26-30 - Dear friends, if we dilberately continue sinning after we have received a full knowledge of the truth, there is no other sacrifice that will cover their sins. There will be nothing to look foward to but the terrible expectation of God's judment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. Anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Think how much more terrible the punishement will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God and have treated the blood of the covenant as if it were common and unholy. Such people have insulted and enraged the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to his people. for we know the one who said, "I will take vengeance, I will repay those who deserve it." He also said, "The Lord will judge his own people." Yes, I know these are lengthy verses but they contain some very important parts. If you hear the Word of God and the path to eternal life and you still turn your back on it, then I am sorry, your eternity has been chosen. There is nothing that can forgive you because you have just said yes to the evil one and no to God's glory. God will look down on you without pity when judgement time comes. He will not feel sorry for you because you turned your back on him. These verses should be a STRONG! wake up call to those of you who do not have a personal relationship with Christ. God is offering you a life with peace and love. A guaranteed resting place in heaven with him. PLEASE DO NOT TURN AWAY FROM THE TRUTH!!! If you choose Jesus to be your Savior then you will have a friend who will never leave you. During any struggles, you can be assured that the Lord will be there by your side every step of the way. However if you say no to all of this and choose option #2, you have just condemned your soul to spend the rest of eternety with satan in the Lake of Fire. So please choose wisely. Dear Jesus, I come before you today during these rough and trying tmes. Despite my troubles I know you will protect me from harm. Your hand is always outreached so when I fall you can pick me up. But today I am calling for your mercy on those who do not know you. I pray today that those lost souls will realize their wrong doings and cry out to you for salvation. I am asking you Lord to hear their cries, feel their pain that the evil one has placed in them all those years without you and if it is your wish allow them into your family. I praise you for your every flowing love that you have showing to your children. In your name I pray. Amen
  4. We all go through many tough times during our life, some seem worse then others. When we hit those walls sometimes we don
  5. This is especially difficult for veteran Christians. When you first become saved your fire for the Lord is unbelievable. You want to spend every waking moment with Jesus. It is when you have been saved for a little while that you can tend to become quieter about the Lord. We know we should be like the baby Christian all the time but it gets harder and harder to be like them. Satan attacks us more often and harder. We get the mindset that since we have been saved for so many years that we know everything there is to know and we don
  6. If you have any specifics that we can pray about please let us know If not thats quite alright also.
  7. Praise the Lord for allowing it to help you Songstress. May your walk with the Lord be fruitful. Never give in to the temptations of the evil one no matter how good they may seem. I will keep you in my prayers.
  8. Promises are wonderful phrases when kept. We have all known someone I
  9. Most people today whether they want to admit it or not is fighting some sort of addiction. The major ones that affect our lives could be things such as alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or pornography. There are also other smaller ones that can still have a strong negative impact on our spiritual life. These could include watching too much TV, eating too much or not enough, being addicted to sex. The list goes on and on but one thing all these addictions have in common is they all distract us from the prize. The prize of striving to live our life how God wants us to live it. This should be our main focus day in and day out. We can kid ourselves and tell us we aren

    Importance of Obedience

Does that mean being obedient to your pastor when you believe he/she is wrong? How do people see obedience in the church? While the pastor does hold a more authoritative role in our society, he is still not the final word. If you feel that what they are saying goes against the Word of God you need to talk to them and bring it up. Look up verses that support it so you can show them how you feel this is not correct. If they still are persistant in telling you to do something because they believe its the right thing to do then you need to respectfully tell them that you do not want to follow that action he wants you to do because you feel it is wrong. They should respect your decision and understand it. If they still don't then it may be time for you to find another Church that has a pastor who follows the Word of the Lord and listens to what God has to say. But I would first find support in the Bible behind why you believe what they are asking you to do is wrong. Obedience in the church I feel is the same as obedience in the household. The church is just as prone to making mistakes as the family is. It all goes back to the Bible. If someone askes you to do something that is supported by the Bible and doesnt harm you or someone else then you can look into it. If you feel like it is wrong you can pray on it and let God give you the answer to your question. Hope this helps somewhat
  11. The definition of obey is To carry out or fulfill the command, order, or instruction of. also could be added with respect to that person giving the command, order, or instruction. Obedience is a crucial part in today's life. If you want a healthy relationship with your parents you should obey them when they ask you to do something. If you want to stay employed you should comply with instruction from your boss. More importantly though if you want to spend the rest of your life in heaven I would strongly suggesting following God's commands which are laid out in his word, the Bible. It pleases God when he looks down at one of his children and see's them following his requests since it shows that you want to stay committed in your relationship with him. If we refuse to comply with your parents request or a boss's instruction then there usually is some sort of punishment that is given. It is the same with the Lord. God put his rule's in the Bible for a reason. They were not there for us to read and say "Oh okay I know what they mean but I don't want to follow them, I think I will go do worldly acts instead." They were put there for us to be able to leave a life pleasing to the Lord which in the end is the most important task for us. There is a difference if we do not obey a command because we didnt understand it or didnt know it was there versus not obeying it because we choose not to. The Lord gets angry if we do not obey him period but there is one major long term consequence that we must all face if we choose to not obey the Word of God. This is judgement day. If we didn't live a life pleasing to God when the time comes then we face our punishment which is eternity in the lake of fire. I don't know about you but I would rather spend the rest of my life after death with my heavenly father up in heaven. Jeremiah 7:23 - "This is what I told them: 'Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Only do as I say, and all will be well.' This verse is speaking about the fact that during your life you may be asked by people in charge of you or your family to do something that may be wrong in the eyes of God. This is where you will have to make your choice. Pick the easy way now and make your friends happy and pay for it at the end of your life or make the hard decision and make God happy now and live with him forever. There is an example of this where a 16 year old accepted Christ as his savior despite his family not being believers. His father one day asked his son to go pick up his girlfriend from her house and bring him to his house while the mother was away. The 17 year old (at the time) knew this was wrong in the eyes of the Lord because he would be letting his father be unfaithful to his mother and instead told his father no and used his example as a way to hopefully show the Lord through his actions to his father. Well his father got angry and kicked him out of the house. Despite the fact that the son was kicked out of his house and his life had reached a rough spot, his actions pleased the Lord. John 14:21 - "Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them." I pray that everyone can be obedient to the Lord's voice when he speaks to us and gives us people to speak to or gives us things to do that will be pleasing to the Lord. The more obedient we become the better our relationship with Jesus will be and the stronger we will be when satan tries to attack us at our weakest point.
  12. Please do not thank me for it was Jesus who placed this in my heart. He deserves all the credit. I am just his messenger and instrument to do his deeds.
  13. This was put into my heart while I was in devotion yesterday and I try and put it to use everyday. If you follow these steps you will be able to bring your walk with God to a whole new level. 1) Love More By this I mean you have to follow Matthew 5:43-44 which says "You have heard that the law of Moses says, 'Love your neighbor' and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!" If you are truely a child of God and are trying your best to follow his voice then there will be times where the world will come against you. They will try and mock you and make fun of you but you need remember that the more they curse you the more God is smiling down upon you. Another part of Love more means if you do someone wrong then you must make it right between you and that person. Do not let that action that caused harm sit around because that will do nothing but let it build a negative wall between you and that person. So you must go immediately and ask forgivness as when you do that person will see the Lord through you. 2) Give More This isn't just referring to the titheing and offering aspect of your life when you go to Church but also giving back to the community and helping those less fortunetly. Because everytime you assist someone else you are not only developing a sense of happiness in that person but you are creating a possible opening to witness between you and that person. They see you being helpful and they might want to know why are you so helpful and caring and right then you can start telling them about your relationship with Jesus. It doesn't have to be a monetary gift either it can be anything from building a house, doing someone's lawn, babysitting. Anything that presents itself to you as an opportunity to help. 3) Forgive More This goes hand in hand with step number one you are just taking it one step further. Whenever you feel the need to forgive someone it is showing the love that God has placed within you. No matter how hard it is to ask forgivness for your action, it is a crucial part of your spiritual walk with the Lord. If you wrong someone and you try and brush it off and continue down the path of righteousness no matter how little a mistake you made, that event will slowly open the door for distraction and negative feelings to creep in. Everytime you see that person you will think about that day that you made a mistake. Satan loves to use any type of opening to swoop in and attack. So whenever you make a mistake and God knows we all do so you arn't alone, you must correct it right then and there especially if there is a chance you will never see that person again. Remember God knows whats in your heart so do not try and hide the fact that you refused to fix the problem. 4) Pray More Well this is probably the most important step of the seven to developing a closer relationship with God. Without prayer your communication will be cutoff. Yes you can get information from the Bible but without knowing what changes God wants you to make in order to be the perfect vessel that he can use, you will not be able to progress very far in your relationship with him. Remember dont be afraid to ask because nothing is too big for our Father in heaven. He told us in Matthew 21:22 that "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Now that doesnt mean if you pray for you to win the lotto that you will get it because God's ways are not our ways so no matter what happens, remember that he did hear you and will answer it in his way for that is the right way. 5) Do No Harm This talks about the many examples in the Bible about where you are to respect everyone and treat everyone how you want to be treated. Do not judge others for God is the only person who can judge and he will in the end days. Do not curse others or steal from others. God wants us to be examples of him in every way. 6) Faith We have all heard the expression Ye of Little Faith. Well without faith we are nothing and never will be anything. We must have faith because God called us to receive faith like the children. Luke 18: 16b - 17 says "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, anyone who doesn't have their kind of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God." I challenge everyone to pray to God that he will place into us faith like the children because children do not doubt what is happening and neither should we. We should understand that God is behind everything and nothing that is happening is because of chance. Unfortunetly today's world lacks the faith that our God could of created the world and instead but their so called faith in other false beliefs. We must stand strong no matter what other people try to say. If we put our faith in the Lord no one and I mean NO ONE can defeat us. 7) Never Be Quiet About God Amen to this. We MUST NOT stand by ourselves. We MUST go out into the world and preach the good news of Jesus Christ to all that will listen. We MUST have the faith that our voice that preaches God's word will reach those who need to hear it. We need to take our lamp, fill it with oil and go out into the dark. Turn on the lamp and allow non believes to come near and use the light as you tell them about your undying love for our heavenly father. If we stand idlely by while the world continues to tear itself apart we are just as good as they are. We can call ourselves christians but if we do not do anything about it, its just a worthless title. I do not want to have a worthless title, I want to be PROUD of being called a christian. Do not be afraid to go out there where you have never been. God is always and I mean ALWAYS on our side no matter what. Even though 2 Timothy 3:12 says that anyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution, DO NOT BE AFRAID. Please do not hesitate to go out to the lost. Take a friend with you if needed for God says, If two or more are gathered I am there in their presense. God will ALWAYS be there with us no matter what happens. I hope this helped at least one person that read it because I know it helped me. I pray that everyone will desire a closer relationship with our Father. I pray that we will all be ready for when the end times come God will call us a Good and Faithful Servent. Everyone be blessed today and live life to the fullest with God by our side.
