  1. WE HAD our water turned off for 8 hours...years ago, while a pipe was being repaired...you feel it right away...no running water, we just need it and in many countries, that is normal life...to have water when ever we wish. It has been easier to have the power off than be without water...this is real suffering to me.
  2. This will be a major story for a long time.
  3. I like to memorize Christ centered verses... Isaiah 52:13-15; Chapter 53 I have also wroked with several Psalms...1; 23; 121; 103 Isaiah chapter 12...it is such a surprise and joy to find the gospel in the OT. I also have most of Ephesians chapter 1 memorized and the beginning of Ephesians chapter 2. Thanks for this thread, I need the encouragement to keep this up.
  4. i'm not sure about the 300 number. i read there are more like 2000 in mexico. but, of course, i don't know if that's true or not. the really big part of this picture, though, is the fact that the ONLY deaths have occurred in mexico. so it's really not fair to say this flu kills half the people it infects--it has killed 0% of the people living in countries other than mexico. so these numbers do not truly tell the statistics of the mortality of this di I know one thing for sure. FEAR is a great manipulator, and we have the evidence of this from the historical happenings in the past. We HAVE to do the opposite of what the manipulators are expecting us to do. We have to STAND IN FAITH because a one world government is what they're trying to create. The Scriptures are honest and true, and they reveal to us where civilization is headed. It boils down to one fact: Who can we trust to tell us the truth? I'm putting my faith in the spirit of Daddy and His word only. I'm not going to be swayed by any man or demons. We have to STAND and not LET FEAR PARALYZE US, TAKE OUR PEACE AWAY AND MAKE US ITS CAPTIVE. I'd advise us all to pray to Daddy and ask for His guidance. FATHER, We don't know if this is the end of life as we know it, but you are STILL in control. We know that you have a plan, and that plan is for our good. Yes, we want you to return and take us home, but none of us want to go through the process of getting there. We know one thing though--if you're in control we can trust you explicitly. All we have to do is read your word and see how you spared the Hebrews who occupied Goshen during Jacob's life. You terrorized the Eygptians but shielded the Hebrews from all harm. YOU ARE GREAT and have overcome ALL evil. We could see you coming any minute. Give us expecting and rejoicing hearts as we go through our days. YOU WILL NOT FAIL US!!!!!!!! Thank you!! Amen to this prayer...
  5. Just by chance, because I am seldom up late watching TV...I saw Richard Widmark in a movie with Doris Day last Friday night...they gave him a tribute at the end of the film. This was a light comedy...with a "wholesome" wife played by Doris Day.
  6. I will miss him and I hope he is in heaven.
  7. This gives me more food for thought here. The Lord recently gave me a picture in a dream...I have had several understandings come to me personally. I saw someone in deep water near a ship that was "sinking". The person is crawling onto the boat...I'm thinking in the dream if I get into the bowels of the ship I will be safe. I can see the mast of this sailboat...can't see the sail. The "bow" is up out of the water....but the hold would still be under water. My first thought was the ship was sinking...then a few days later a different understanding came...the ship IS Rising. The Lord has drawn me out of "many" waters...it is the story of my life.
  8. You know my kids are grown..but this is hilarious...
  9. This made me think of a story I heard years ago...of a preacher missionary dying under a tree over in Africa. He had requested "no sad songs for him" when he died. So they sang and danced and praised the Lord and had a joyous time celebrating his arrival in heaven...It still blesses me today to think of it. There was a favorite song of his that I learned...but I have forgotten the words...but not the joy.
  10. In returning to Israel from Babylon...during Ezra's time...part of the spiritual renewal for the whole congregation was the "putting away" of pagan wives. Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, "You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel. Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers, and do His will; seperate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from pagan wives." Ezra 10:10-11 "Please, let the leaders of our entire congregation stand; and let all those in our cities who have taken pagan wives come at appointed times, together with the elders and judges of their cities, until the fierce wrath of our God is turned away from us in this matter." Ezra 10:14 This is not exactly the same problem as divorce and remarriage...Christians "usually" marry other Christians. But it does show God's will and His holiness...it makes me shake. It also shows God wants us to "get right with Him". These paid a dear and severe price to honor the Lord...some had children by these pagan wives. Ezra 10:44
