  1. Thank you, Reinitin, for sharing this testimony....that is a very good thing! In His Love, Suzanne
  2. I'm glad the post is being revisited. In His Love Suzanne
  3. John 14: 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. Jesus wanted us to watch, so that we would not be caught off guard...He also wants us to be able to stand and not be troubled in times of trouble. It is coming, and we had better be prepared. We had better not be asleep. In His Love,Suzanne
  4. Hi MorningGlory, I'm using Edge, but I have a new desktop, that doesn't have a decent Word processing program on it...so this may be part of the problem as well, with regard to the cut and paste issue? I notice that the cut and paste from Crosswalk Bible Study, doesn't show up right? Anyway, it is too difficult for me to post here, so won't be trying to do any Bible discussions...wish I could. In His Love, Suzanne
  5. You are all missing the point of this thread...it is NOT about when He returns, it IS about HOW! 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. c 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; It is about who can endure the Day of His Coming: Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the Lord of hosts. 2 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like launderer's soap. Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy c to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." In His Truth,Suzanne
  6. 1 Thess 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. There is also a great contrast between “Peace and safety” and sudden destruction. Sorry, but I will not be able to complete this thread. Here is what Jesus says about His coming and us(believers): Luke 21:3434"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Look, we have to guard fervently against all of the above mentioned things........we also MUST watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape these things (because they will come!) and we must pray that we will be able to stand before the Son of Man. We must watch and be sober......(calm, collected in spirit). We must.... 1 Thess. 5: 22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. 3:2 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. a×References for Revelation 3:2Footnotes u 3:2 - NU-Text and M-Text read My God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
  7. Why is Jesus so fervent about this? Notice the contrast........sleeping/watching. We know it’s not really about “sleeping”, what then? We can also see this message repeated in 1 Thess 5: 1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 6 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. Let us not “sleep”? Sleep Strongs #2518 Katheudo · to fall asleep, drop off to sleep · to sleep 1. to sleep normally 2. euphemistically, to be dead 3. metaph. 1. to yield to sloth and sin 2. to be indifferent to one's salvation Watch and be “sober”? Watch Derived from the root word: Egeiro Which means: · to arouse from sleep, to awake Strongs #1127 Gregoreuo- Definition 1. to watch 2. metaph. give strict attention to, be cautious, active 1. to take heed lest through remission and indolence some destructive calamity suddenly overtake one
  8. Dear Ezra, It is not only about when He comes, but more importantly.......HOW He comes. (I will try to post the rest of the study tomorrow morning.) In His Love, Suzanne
  9. I am sorry, but I won't be able to post the rest of this...my browser does not work with the forum and I cannot get it to post. In His Love, Suzanne
  10. This message was impressed upon me, as I was in the middle of hearing a sermon regarding the church of Laodicea.....but this passage in regard to the church of Sardis, struck me profoundly. It was a very stark warning that I have seen before, but I had not studied in depth....it is a warning for believers. Rev. 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. Rev. 16:15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame." Sounds familiar, right? Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour a your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. The message is given from Jesus, many times! Mark 13: 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning-- 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!" Why is Jesus so fervent about this? Notice the contrast........sleeping/watching. We know it’s not really about “sleeping”, what then? We can also see this message repeated in 1 Thess. 5: 1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
  11. Very very true Ezra. In His Love, Suzanne
  12. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.’ During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence: 1. from bondage to spiritual faith; 2. from spiritual faith to great courage; 3. from courage to liberty; 4. from liberty to abundance; 5. from abundance to complacency; 6. from complacency to apathy; 7. from apathy to dependence; 8. from dependence back into bondage. (Anybody want to guess where we are as a nation today? I would say #7, “We want Bernie Sanders! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! Take care of us!") In His Truth, Suzanne
  13. Thank you Paul.......I consider it a blessing that it came back up after so many years. In His Love, Suzanne
  14. It means "following Christ Jesus" in the way of His Holy Spirit, by believing His Word, and obeying Him/It. For greater understanding, read Gal. 5:22-25, and then read Romans 8. In His Love, Suzanne
  15. Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness. 4 "Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem Will be pleasant to the Lord, As in the days of old, As in former years. 5 And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien-- Because they do not fear Me," Says the Lord of hosts. 6 "For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. 7 Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you," Says the Lord of hosts. (There is no fear of the Lord, by those in verse 5......, they are among those who call themselves "believers", yet they walk in pride, because they have no fear of the Lord and His judgment....they do not believe what He has been telling them all along. And because of this, He tells them He will come near for judgment, because they do not heed His Commands from His Word.........and they begin to walk in disobedience/wickedness while saying it is "Okay with God". Mal. 3:13 "Your words have been harsh against Me," Says the Lord, "Yet you say, 'What have we spoken against You?' 14 You have said, 'It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the Lord of hosts? 15 So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.' " But there are still those who know Who God Is....and know and believe what He says with regard to those who practice those things...they are those who know and fear the outcome, because they believe HIM in His Word.
