    Mom's that Homeschool

Just want to give an update....on how amazingly God works. My daughter is now starting a homeschooling project at our local community college. They have asked her to help them begin to assemble classes that will be a help to local homeschooling parents. These will be classes to help w/science, math and electives for their kids. I cannot tell you how excited she is to be able to implement these classes and have the local community college come to recognize the popularity of homeschooling and the need for assistance in sciences and other classes that some parents may not feel equipped or comfortable teaching. She also is going to be able to teach some introduction to homeschooling classes for parents who are considering it. This is her dream come true to be able to support more parents in getting started. Funny how things can come full circle! God is great. In His Love, Suzanne

    What's On Your Mind?

This is so true Marilyn! And hopefully my son will come to this realization! This is the big mystery though...why do some come to realize when they do, and why do some not? In His Love, Suzanne

    What's On Your Mind?

My son is at a place where he needs testimony from others rather than mom and dad.......I think that is why I posted this study as I am sure there are other young adults who need this testimony from the Word. Sometimes it's better for mom and dad to pray for someone else to come along as a witness and plant the seeds. Thank you for your reply, I will be sure to take a look. In His Love, Suzanne

    What's On Your Mind?

As someone who knows many young adults who are seemingly going the way of the world, I wanted to look into the topic of "the mind". I confess that this study was originally done because I have an older son who is totally focused on the things of the world at this time and I did this study with him in mind. I welcome your input and studies with regard to the Word on this matter...as I think it is a very important topic for those of us who wish we had something on hand to help us witness and testify to how important it is to examine what we are "thinking about". It is also a reminder for us as Christians to be "mindful" of these things as well. What Is On Your Mind? Romans 8:5-7 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Ephesians 2:3, 4:17 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Philippians 3:19 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Titus 1:15 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. BE RECONCILED AND RENEWED IN MIND Colossians 1:21 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, Hebrews 10:16 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; Ephesians 4:22-24 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Philippians 2:5 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 1 Cor. 2:16 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. Col. 3:2 (NKJV) 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Understanding Job?

Absolutely kwikphilly...there's so much instruction in this book! And it is very humbling. The big message I got from it, and that I've never heard any preacher preach about it, is the huge instruction w/regard to Elihu! His witness, his testimony, his care for Job and the Lord...he was adamant about Who God Is, and he was so bothered that Job was missing it! If it had not been for the witness of Elihu, the story of Job might have gone differently, depending upon what the Lord desired to teach. But to me, there is such a message w/regard to Elihu and the power of a witness who will testify to what they know about the Lord...in their personal relationship. Elihu testified! Thus, he was not included in God's reprimand of Job's "friends" at the end of the book. In His Love, Suzanne

If you will stick to topic, rather than arguing about a side issue, the thread will stay on course, and be much more productive. Just sayin. :-) IN HIs Love, Suzanne

    Understanding Job?

Yes and like mentioned in Job....God will use the enemy(Satan) to deal w/the children of pride in the end: Job 41:34 34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. There is a purpose, even for Satan. In His Love, Suzanne

    Understanding Job?

Good morning all....as the OP of this topic, I just wanted to stop in and say that the symbolism of Leviathan is very significant. To refer to another poster here...the Leviathan is a "type" of Satan...and just as every other created thing, God can and will use for his purposes. Just as He did w/Pharaoh in that time, Leviathan is a picture of one who will deal w/"children of pride"....those who will not submit to the authority of God. Wicked can and will be used towards evil. Psalm 16:4 4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. 5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.c Those who are so stiff-necked and will not submit to God...will be dealt with. John 14: 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28 You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me. 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. Jesus wanted us to watch, so that we would not be caught off guard...He also wants us to be able to stand and not be troubled in times of trouble. It is coming, and we had better be prepared. We had better not be asleep. In His Love,Suzanne

Hi MorningGlory, I'm using Edge, but I have a new desktop, that doesn't have a decent Word processing program on it...so this may be part of the problem as well, with regard to the cut and paste issue? I notice that the cut and paste from Crosswalk Bible Study, doesn't show up right? Anyway, it is too difficult for me to post here, so won't be trying to do any Bible discussions...wish I could. You are all missing the point of this thread...it is NOT about when He returns, it IS about HOW! 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. c 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; It is about who can endure the Day of His Coming: Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the Lord of hosts. 2 "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like launderer's soap. Luke 21:34 "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy c to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." 1 Thess 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. There is also a great contrast between “Peace and safety” and sudden destruction. Sorry, but I will not be able to complete this thread. Here is what Jesus says about His coming and us(believers): Luke 21:3434"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Look, we have to guard fervently against all of the above mentioned things........we also MUST watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape these things (because they will come!) and we must pray that we will be able to stand before the Son of Man. We must watch and be sober......(calm, collected in spirit). We must.... 1 Thess. 5: 22 Abstain from every form of evil. 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rev. 3:2 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. a×References for Revelation 3:2Footnotes u 3:2 - NU-Text and M-Text read My God. 3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
