  1. Is it Better to Avoid rebuking or even mentioning demonic spirits or even the devil/satan during prayer/fellowship/ministering to The Lord? I attend a Pentecostal/Charismatic church, and in the Pentecostal/Charismatic churches, we usually hear about rebuking demonic spirits that cause problems. However, I heard a Pentecostal/Charismatic pastor ( please watch: https://youtu.be/gIjse3H9bNE?t=1200 ) mention that the following Ecclesiastes 10:1 verse suggests/hints/indicates that it is better Not to mention anything about demonic spirits during prayer/fellowship/ministering: (Ecclesiastes 10:1) (NASB) Dead flies make a perfumer's oil stink, so a little foolishness is weightier than wisdom and honor. (Ecclesiastes 10:1) (KJV) Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour. (Ecclesiastes 10:1) (NKJV) Dead flies putrefy the perfumer’s ointment, And cause it to give off a foul odor; So does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honor. Also, I personally noticed that I have a tendency to start blaming demonic spirits or even the devil/satan for some kind of sin that I committed when in reality, I should be blaming myself because my sin was caused by my flesh. (My concern is that when we rebuke or mention demonic spirits or even the devil/satan in some kind 3rd person form when we pray to God then we are actually getting distracted from Jesus Christ Himself, and we want to stay focused on Jesus Christ, and Not get caught up and/or Not become obsessed with rebuking and/or being worried/concerted about demonic spirits and/or satan/devil) Therefore, Is it Better to Avoid rebuking or even mentioning demonic spirits or even the devil/satan during prayer/fellowship/ministering to The Lord?
  2. We Christians have two natures one utterly corrupt the other totally divine Eph 4:22-24 (Written to Christians) That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man (human nature) which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts… and that you put on the new man (divine nature) which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. What the old man, human nature really looks like, The truth about the characteristics of my human nature, this is what the Bible refers to as my flesh, and this was the nature I lived in until I was born again. This nature is inherently selfish, self absorbed, self promoting and self pitying. It’s most dominant characteristic is pride, which man defines as boastful but which God broadens to mean a rebellious independence from Him. This nature secretly envies, covets and lusts after what others have. It lives entirely in the material visible realm, living by faith in God is foolishness. It makes all it’s choices and decisions by physical senses, human intellect and reasoning abilities, therefore it can only be content when all its circumstances are favorable. It falsely assumes that the accumulation of much stuff will result in happiness. Since these desires are seldom achieved it is prone to constant worry and anxiety over the potential lack of things. Even when they are achieved it is prone to worry and anxiety over the loss of those things. This nature, since it can’t find contentment within itself, is touchy and irritable about many trivial things; it is very easily angered and offended by others, and virtually incapable of truly forgiving them. It will bear grudges for a lifetime. It struggles to keep its basic animal wants in check and they often become compulsive or addictive. It tends to be lazy unless motivated by gain or glory, it is deceitful and manipulative. Because its core nature is so rotten it becomes a master at concealing and camouflaging itself with all manner of outward false airs and graces, that mask its true inner motives. If you ask me did God make me with this horrible nature? The answer is no. Where then did I get it? I got it from my parents who in turn ultimately got it from Adam and Eve. And they in turn got it from Satan when they believed his words – that’s how his nature got into them – instead of believing God’s words to them, so that His divine nature could have remained in them. We all, if we’re honest would agree that even if these characteristics don’t always manifest themselves outwardly, they are alive and well in our thoughts, Eph 2:2-3 In which you once walked according to the course of this world, NKJV/AMP according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]. Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh, our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature, obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind. We were by nature children of wrath like the rest of mankind. Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells… Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me… Jer 13:23 Neither are you able to do good—you who are accustomed to doing evil. As a Christian I will live in and continue to be controlled by this evil human nature, unless: (1) I consciously and very deliberately choose to live in, that is, for my will continually to be controlled by, my new nature. This nature is my spirit or heart, and it was created in Christ the moment that I was born again. However to live in this new divine nature requires that I remain in continuous submission to God’s Holy Spirit, as He directs all of my steps. Eze 36:26-28 I will give you a new heart…put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, (God) responsive heart…I will put my (Holy) Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes (words), and you keep my judgments (words), and do them. NKJV Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if…the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. Acts 5:32 …The Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him. Gal 5:16 So I say, walk in (every step directed by) the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (2) I consciously and very deliberately allow God to grow my new nature with more of that nature, by daily feeding me more of His words, by His Spirit, which words are that nature. However for this to happen I must continue to live in my new nature and to fully believe with that nature, my spiritual heart, the words that God personally brings to me each day. The genuineness of my belief will always be evidenced by my own words and actions being consistent with those words of God. A mere mental acknowledging or memorizing of His words keeps their life from my heart and makes me falsely assume that I know them. Jer 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate them (believe them in my heart), and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart… ESV 2 Cor 4:16 …The inward man is being renewed day by day (or God intends it to be). Jam 1:21 …Receive with meekness the implanted word (from God), which is able to save your souls (your will from being captive to your flesh and so to sin). 2 Pet 1:4 …There are given us exceedingly great and precious promises (God’s words), that by these you may be partakers of the divine nature… Unless I choose to do both (1) and (2) above I will remain, that is, my will or soul will remain, under the continuing dominance of my corrupt human nature. This is what the Bible refers to as a Christian who is carnal, born of the Spirit but has returned to his flesh, 2 Pet 2:22 But it has happened to them…“A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” What our inward man, new divine nature looks like, If I do consciously and very deliberately choose to do (1) and (2) above I will be living in my new and ever growing divine nature, in which Jesus Christ, by His Spirit and by His words, ever increasingly lives. Let me share with you what this new nature is like: It is always forgiving just as it is forgiven; it is loving, but with a purer divine love rather than a highly conditional and often impure human love. It is increasingly patient and considerate of others and constantly thinks about their spiritual and eternal welfare. It is humble, in the sense of knowing its total dependence on God, therefore it isn’t envious of what others have, even what they have spiritually; instead it is charitable without any need to be given credit. It is not easily angered but rather seeks peace as it keeps getting stronger in faith toward God and bolder in its witness of Jesus Christ to others. Because it trusts God it is free from worry, it always wants to please God so it doesn’t sin. It is immensely joyful often for no apparent visible reason. This nature is “supernatural” it is the very nature of Christ, Col 1:27 …God willed to make known…this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. John 15:7-8 (Jesus) If you abide (live) in Me, and My words abide (live) in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. 1Cor 15:49 …just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the Heavenly Man (Jesus Christ). KJV To live permanently in my new nature requires my becoming dead to my human nature, If I consciously and very deliberately choose to do (1) and (2) above then the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, will guide me to certain specific truths in God’s word. Truths that tell me Christ, by dying to His flesh on the cross, has already provided a way for me to die, in Him, to my flesh. As with the initial gospel truths, this deeper truth of the gospel simply needs to be revealed to my inquiring heart, and then just believed, so as to become mine, Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Rom 6:11 Likewise you also, reckon (believe) yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Then in order to stay dead to my corrupt human nature I simply need to continue to believe, each day, that I am dead, in Christ, to my flesh. This is taking up my cross daily, Luke 9:23 Then He (Jesus) said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me”. My human nature will not want me, that is, for my will, to be dead to its sinful influence; nor will the devil; and nor will unconverted people and fleshly Christians around me. But my love for and gratitude to God, my knowledge of just how evil my human nature is, and the powerful growing nature of Christ in me, will both motivate and easily enable me to overcome my enemies and to be made conformable to Christ’s death - which was for me, Phil 3:10 That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, Gal 5:24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh… These two natures of ours, one evil and one good, are in total conflict with each other. The conflict ends when we choose to die to our evil human nature and live with our will under the continuous influence of Christ’s nature within our hearts. This is what it means to be a disciple of Christ, now we will bear much fruit, through our words, into the lives of others. And our heavenly Father will be glorified and our eternity will be secure, Gal 5:17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, NIV 2 Pet 1:8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Pet 1:10-11 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you Father, You keep us, You water us every moment, so nothing harms us, and all this by faith!
  3. This is a post I made on my blog site well over a year ago, in 2017. Given the opportunity to teach soon, I asked a friend if he had any ideas. He thought for a second and said, what about Strongholds, those are the things that I need to hear about. I know I do, I battle with aspects of this every day. By the way; I am very much aware that there is always more that defines this aspect of strongholds. Think of this as a primer that motivates you to dig deeper. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 MKJV For though walking about in the flesh, we do not war according to flesh. (4) For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, Though we walk about in the flesh, There is no escaping that condition, and yet the concept is that we can set aside the "flesh." There are only two situations in which that happens: Death – that state in which you are then separated from the body. Or, the rapture (a moment in time in which we will be changed – an act in which God causes this permanently damaged body to be altered.) We do not war according to flesh. Harsh words, swords, and guns are not going to help. This war we are in is a spiritual battle and Satan is the enemy. The battle you are facing is a spiritual one and it is primarily in the mind. Pulling down – Is the Greek word kathaíresis and means demolition or the destruction of a fortress. The enemy (Satan) promotes the building of fortresses in our mind. This process happens slowly through the deceptiveness of words. For example: In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he tells us we are: Blessed; holy; blameless; in Him; living in love; adopted; chosen; redeemed and bought back. However, these are not the words we hear; mostly we hear the opposite, such as: You will never be holy; you are to blame for everything; unlovable; unwanted, and that you will have to struggle all your life to attain some state in which God would want you. Strongholds – The Greek word ochúrōma; to hold fast. A stronghold, fortification, fortress. The Greek allows for something much less invasive; a holdfast. Compare to 3M sticky hooks. Why use the analogy of a temporary wall hanger? These issues are often temporary annoyances. The simplest of solutions is to pray. A verse we did not cover defines these strongholds and where they come from. 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Again we will dissect this a few words at a time. Casting down Casting down is the Greek word kathaireō and means to lower (or with violence) demolish. The Word Study Dictionary adds, “to take for oneself. To take down or away. Imaginations The Word Study Dictionary says this Greek word logismós means a reckoning, calculation, consideration, reflection. To logismós a thing means that you are giving more than just a passing thought to a matter. The implications are that you are ruminating on the issue at hand. Since not all things are a worrisome bother, then the other application would apply to the voices that tell you that you will never live up to the things God says about you. Other translations use the words: reasoning; arguments; intellectual arrogance; theories, and speculations. All of these fit the concept. And every The word "every" is the Greek word pas and includes all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole: - all (manner of, means). Declension according to Webster's dictionary means literally, a leaning back or down; hence, a falling or declining towards a worse state; a trend toward a lesser degree of excellence or perfection. High thing High thing is the word hupsōma, an elevated place or thing, that is, (abstractly) altitude, or (by implication) a barrier. Who is it that does the elevating? We do, as we put that thought on a pedestal. That exalts itself The phrase exalts itself, is the word epairō meaning to raise up. Since the context has to do with casting down imaginations and every high thing, then the idea, worry, or promotion you have spinning in your head is trying desperately to exalt itself by raising up; but against what? In reality, the voices, whether they are in your head or fed to from some well-meaning “friend,” are intended to exalt themselves above God's word, nature, and character. Against the knowledge of God So, just as I said, the voices are attempting to exalt themselves above God. There is truly, only one person that does that, Satan and his minions. And bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; As I said, you are the one who has to take care of this. It is, by-the-way, your psyche that is being toyed with. Doing nothing only adds to the fortification that is being built in your mind. While it is necessary that you bring these thoughts that are contrary to God into captivity, you must subject your thoughts to the obedience of Christ. Obedience is the Greek word hupakoḗ; to obey, listen to something, hearken. This is you with purpose resetting your mind to consider with an overriding confidence, the true nature of Christ Jesus. I get it; there are understandably some people who are so far gone, whether from alcohol, drug abuse, or trauma, that they do not live in a functional state of mental health and may not be able to make these decisions for themselves. With those people in mind, I am reminded of what the Apostle Peter told us Jesus did; and, in so doing, demonstrated not only the character and nature of the Father but our mission as well. Acts 10:38 MKJV ...and He went about doing good, and healing all those who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him. So, once again, you are not dealing with the flesh, but demonic forces, in all but rare cases. Let's just assume that this is not you and you continue to function with relative normalcy while fighting against these small, annoying mental skirmishes, many of which we lose. If these strongholds are merely a hold fast and not a fortress in my mind, why I am I continually bothered/tortured by this same problem? You, with Christ living in you, are a target. I know you did not want to hear that, but it is information that you needed to know. Ephesians 2:10 MKJV For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus ... There are plenty of people who will say that this does not define us as being in God's image, so allow me to give you another piece of proof. Genesis 1:26-27 MKJV And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion ... over all the earth, ... And God created man in His image;... Some might say, I don't believe in this God of yours. Their challenge does not matter; the mere fact that we were created in the image of God caused Satan to set his destructive sights upon them. A simple hold fast may restrain you for your entire life. Satan, we are told, constantly accuses us of sins. We see this in Revelation of all places. Revelation 12:10 MKJV ... For the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. Our broken flesh is centered around selfishness; the motivation to satisfy the flesh. We quickly and easily call this a sin conscience. We religious folk, love to fling the word sin around, especially once we've decided that you need more restraint in your life. The word “sin” is simply an old English term, taking from Archery, in which the competitor missed the bulls-eye in the center of the target.
  4. Wow! The Holy Spirit is to be acknowledged as a person at all times. Why? Because He is. I didn't understand what it meant for the the Holy Spirit to be the access point to Jesus until the closer I think I am to Jesus, the more the Holy Spirit shows me that there is a process to get to the King. Firstly, it is important that we get to know who the person of the Holy Spirit is. In my experience, He is the 'information center' who is willing to reveal all that one needs to know 'if' we are obedient to His instructions. I say this because the Holy Spirit speaks to us everyday; He answers questions, comforts us and guides us in all things but our obedience to His voice is what really determines whether He can trust us to share even more truths with us. He speaks to us in our dreams While I understood that the Holy Spirit will teach us everything and remind us of all that Jesus has spoken John 14:26, it was only two months ago that I learn that He is the One who has given all of us our dreams. There are different kinds of dreams; some are for warning, some are prophetic and some are for making intercessions etc. But for us to identify the kind of dreams we have it will take more than our physical understanding to interpret such. I wasn't able to distinguish my dreams until after a few months of spending time with the Holy Spirit. He knows every person from our past and those who are in our lives presently The Holy Spirit uses people who we are familiar with to bring across His message in our dreams. Though I always understood that He does that, I never appreciated its importance until the Lord showed me in my dream someone I knew from High School but only keep in touch through social media. But as there is no partiality with God Romans 2:11, He revealed that this person was very troubled and in that case I was to make an intercession. Not surprisingly, when I reached out to the young lady on Facebook, she confessed the exact, and I repeat THE EXACT issue that the Holy Spirit had shown me in my dream. Isn't our God amazing!? It was in that moment of confession that I recognized that our dreams are probably the most common medium through which the Holy Spirit speaks. Continual Fellowship strengthens the Holy Spirit's trust in us We will rarely find ourselves sharing very sensitive information with strangers. It is the same with the Holy Spirit. He will put us through all kinds of tests to see how trustworthy we are and two ways to show our trustworthiness is by being obedient and engaging in prayer and worship. I cannot help but emphasize the word obedience, after-all the bible states that Obedience is better than sacrifice, a listening ear than the fat of rams, 1 Samuel 15:22. So I found that the more I worship, the further the Holy Spirit takes me into the spiritual realm. I am truly humbled to know this much more to experience it. All honor and praise to the Holy Spirit. Continual Repentance It is so important that we repent of our sins daily as we serve a holy God. As for me I sin everyday - not only by my deeds but by my very thoughts. Getting to know the Holy Spirit speaks to understanding His standards and meeting His expectations according to the Word of God. I struggle at times to be consistent in worship and reading the word but thanks be to God He understands that the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak Matthew 26:41. Therefore the Holy Spirit being fully aware of our weaknesses just wants us to seek cleansing so He may continue to work through us as He so desires. I can do nothing without the Holy Spirit. I literally ache in the spirit if I ever feel like I've disappointed Him. How can you tell that you have disappointed the Holy Spirit? Let me hear from you...
  5. Years ago I was in a place where i could focus on Christ and serving him only. I had been Praying in tongues a lot at the time and had a couple thoughts come to me like lightning. First every believer remembers that time, that place, maybe it was right after they got saved, where they knew when they got down on there knees they were right at the feet of Christ. No one could tell you otherwise. With almost no effort, you just KNEW when you prayed, or even as you just went about your day, You were right there, right at the feet of Christ. The question come to me, What if I could not only get back there, what if i could LIVE there. Live right there at the feet of Christ. Then another remrkable thought entered my heart. When I was speaking in tongues in my private prayer life since the holy spirit gave the utterance (words) why did it have to be in an unknown language? What is one language or another to GOD. If GOD could speak through me in a language I didn't understand and it could be all him, why couldn't he speak through me in english? A lot of verses come to me as I prayed and fasted over this. "when a child asks for a fish will you give him a serpent? A lot verses from the old and new testament about how the men and women of the bible never spoke there own opinion or traditions, or what someone taught them. not even there own conclusion, instead they spoke word for word what they heard and saw of GOD. I remember one person telling me this was dangerous, because how could I know who's voice i was hearing, who I was seeing. Then GOD took me to a verse that I didn't expect, Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and another they WILL NOT FOLLOW. Tradition says you can't know for sure who's talking to you but jesus said HIS BELIEVERS, HIS SHEEP knew his voice and wouldn't follow another. It was possible to hear and know the voice of christ. But where to start? Then christ refocused me. leading me to John 17:3. It was about the relationship, it was about christ, I was to just focus on him. So thats what I did. Every prayer was just about seeking him, just christ. After awhile of just seeking christ and learning that at all times I had to be focused only on him, not power, anointing, position, recoginiton, just Christ. I begin to see a lot verses I had never heard preached or taught, like in one place it says, "and the holy spirit spoke and said seperate unto me paul and barnabus for the work of the minstry." "on the lord's day I was in the spirit". over and over I kept coming to that phrase, in the spirit, How could the holy spirit speak, what was being in the spirit? Walk in the spirit and you will not fullfill the lusts of the flesh. To whom you submit yourself that is your master. We all listen to someone or something. It could be our emotions, our flesh, our traditions, our opinions , we all follow something, what if we only spoke those things that the holy spirit told us to speak? What if I only did the things the holy spirit told me to do. It would require me to stay submitted to christ and not my own ego. It would mean every doctrine and belief I had that was not in line with the real doctrine of christ he would up end. was i ready for that? I decided i was that being close to christ was worth any sacrifice I had to make. As I have walked this road I've learned A few things, This is what the holy men and women of the bible did. This is what christ did. this was also what was wrong in most churches. People following there belief instead of following the leading of the Father and Christ through the Holy Spirit. When the Saints of the bible only spoke and did what they were told by GOD then the power and presence of GOD was always there, because it was not them doing any of it, it was GOD so only GOD deserved the credit, The glory. The final thing i will share that I learned was Faith comes by hearing hearing by the word of GOD. This is used to propmote pushing people to sit under and accept the doctrine of men. but let me share with you the way Christ shared it with me. Faith comes by hearing hearing by the word of GOD. The word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Now say that over and over a few times. Faith comes by hearing hearing by the word of GOD. The word was made flesh and dwelt among us.. Faith comes by hearing christ the word made flesh and the author and finisher of our faith. Not by hearing the opinions and doctrines and traditons of man. Through this experance, I've realized that most of our problems could be solved if we would stop doing what we think and believe is right and do as we are told by the Holy Spirit, If we would focus on Christ instead of everything else. There is a lot more to moving and operating in the spirit but i wanted to know what got others down this path. Walking and operating in the spirit is NOT taught very often. What parts of Walking In the spirit do you think are important that I haven't mentioned. This Doctrinal issue is the most untalked about, But the most important. Chrsit said Those who worship the father MUST WORSHIP him in SPIRIT AND TRUTH. Not flesh and emotion. We are not even worshiping GOD properly if we don't do it in Spirit and Truth. What got you looking at this. What got you seeking GOD for being in the spirit? wHAT PARTS OF Walking in the spirit have become apart of your every day life? Thank You and GOD Bless
