  1. What is the difference between "Discerning of spirits" and the spiritual gift of "discernment"? What is the evidence for your conclusion?
  2. In the Bible, some of the main characters often have a pastoral/spiritual guide to get Godly guidance or to get a better understanding of God's Will. King Saul --had--> Prophet Samuel King David --had--> Prophet Nathan King Hezekiah --had--> Prophet Isaiah Even some major evil characters had pastoral/spiritual guides King Ahab --had--> Prophet Elijah I suppose the following association is probably really really weak but if you consider John The Baptist's water baptizing Jesus Christ then Jesus Christ --probably had--> John The Baptist as a sort of guide if you take the water baptism into consideration but this is really a weak argument In any case, I don't want to kind of stray away from what my real question is going to be. When does a Christian person go directly to God Himself , and when does said person go to a pastoral/spiritual guide to get Godly guidance or to get a better understanding of God's Will ? One of the reasons that I ask said question is because (Mark 15:37-38) 37 And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed His last. 38 And the veil of the temple was Torn in two from top to bottom. Jesus Christ's death on The Cross allows us to approach God directly. Furthermore, I really do Not want to keep approaching pastoral/spiritual guides as if they were soothsayers/seers/fortune teller all the time. Therefore, When does a Christian person go directly to God Himself , and when does said person go to a pastoral/spiritual guide to get Godly guidance or to get a better understanding of God's Will ?
  3. My opinion is that as Christian's we should not dismiss trying to find meaning in the dreams that we have as some are from God. BUT also We should be very careful to use proper discernment in our interpretation when we do: Is it completely biblically sound e.g. the dream may have felt good but was it sin - wrong interpretations may make your heart justify sin when you wake up.* How did it feel? Most likely if it made you feel rough then the dream was of the enemy, a nightmare. Sometimes a warning from God too though. Maybe it is just your brain processing the day if you dream about potatoes if you had a jacket potato for dinner lol. https://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-dream-interpretation.html this IMO is a good bible based website, and this is some useful advice from it: If it is, prayerfully consider what God would have you do in response to your dream (James 1:5). In Scripture, whenever anyone experienced a dream from God, God always made the meaning of the dream clear, whether directly to the person, through an angel, or through another messenger (Genesis 40:5–11; Daniel 2:45; 4:19). When God speaks to us, He makes sure His message is clearly understood. *I don't think I have been led into sin by a dream but I have been led astray by them before e.g. in a time when I was desperate for a breakthrough, the enemy gave a dream of doing a job that I was not ready for. I tried this job and found I had to leave as it was a massive stress I could cope with. I have been led into big seasons of struggle and confusion as I had put my hope in a dream that was not of God. Sometimes we should do this: Hope I have not been too serious, watch out for Nephilim size potatoes running after you with a peeler. ? Shalom
  4. The Passion Translation, authored by Brian Simmons, has inserted these words into the mouth of Christ: "For you reach into my heart. With one flash of your eyes I am undone by your love, my beloved, my equal, my bride. You leave me breathless-I am overcome by merely a glance from your worshiping eyes, for you have stolen my heart..." Song of Songs 4:9 (TPT) Much can of course be said about interpreting Song of Songs/Solomon to be about Christ and the Church, but to even suggest, nevermind blatantly have Jesus call us His "equal", is beyond erroneous, it is heretical and even blasphemous. The worst of it is that, thanks to Brian Simmons and his "Passion Translation", people can now argue that mankind's equality with God is Biblical. Honestly, I do not know how terrible the deception in the Church has to be before more people are willing to stand up and speak up to warn brothers and sisters in Christ. The Passion Translation is used and promoted by Bethel Redding, (Bill Johnson) and by Georgian and Winnie Banov, and who knows how many others. It seems to be a favourite "translation" in the loosely organized but very broad and fast growing NAR. I encourage all Christians to do their research on this. Here are several screenshots from the Banov's Facebook page, where they repeatedly promote this heretical and blasphemous doctrine of equality with God (among other equally horrendous claims). Thoughts?

  6. Hebrews 2:4 says God also testified to it by signs, wonders, and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. In Matthew 12:39 it says, He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign!" I have always heard the Matthew verse teaching that asking for a sign is what a sinful/wicked generation does. In Hebrews 2:4 though it says that God used signs, wonders, and miracles to testify. Obviously the Bible doesn't contradict itself, but one seems to make signs, wonders, and miracles good, and the other asking for a sign is sinful. What's the difference between asking God for clarity and discernment, verses asking for a sign. My understanding is that we don't ask for a sign, but God still uses them for good. I think the importance of the 1st 4 verses of Hebrews 2, is to caution all believers not to drift away from their first love, Christ. Feel free to share your thoughts to help me understand it better. Maybe I'm just complicating these 2 passages. Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. The phrase, “he himself suffered when he was tempted,” reminds me that refraining from sin/temptation can be hard and cause suffering, but that's what God wants us to do. It also reminds me that it was hard for Christ to resist the flesh, just as it is for us. 2 Timothy 2:22 Run from temptations that capture young people. That's another verse instructing us to flee temptations

  8. Hello, I have an uncle who was brainwashed back in the 70's and moved his family (wife + 5 daughters) into a communal-type of housing facility. He was brutally abusive to his wife and daughters - cruel. She divorced him, he remarried an impressionable young woman who had two boys and he did many inhuman, depraved and cruel things to them as well - all abuse he justified with passages from the bible and by staying close to those who believe exactly what he believes. He went to prison for 15+ years for what he did to the two boys and when he was released, went to live with his mother until he could get back on his feet. Not once did he take responsibility for his actions. He only spoke of prison as "getting sent up river" or "those people who sent me to prison." Always used terms that did not describe the horror he put his families through. One day he made demands of my grandmother and locked himself in his room. Since Grandma is 83 years old my mother went to help and my uncle ended up walking out, quitting his job and we haven't heard from him since. That was over a year ago. What he left behind is why I'm here. The boxes of paperwork he hoarded contained all kinds of references to Wigglesworth, Bonhke and a few other pastors' name I can't recall. He wrote letters while in prison asking for information on these people and was turned down at every request. From what I've been able to find, these two were part of an Evangelistic movement in the early 20th century. But I've found links to reports of abuses of power and possible other crimes associated with at least Wigglesworth and Bonhke. My uncle ignored the court's suggestion that he seek psychiatric help when he was released from prison. In his papers we found his medical records and he was indeed troubled. When he was living with my grandmother, he told my mother that Wigglesworth, Bonhke and the other pastors were second apostles and it was his (my uncle's) job to find the next generation of apostles. This makes me REALLY suspicious of anything written by these people, but curious as to whether my uncle's obsession with them was because of his untreated mental illness or are they actually cult leaders who did bad things but hid their deeds with words about the Lord? If I had to go with my gut, I would avoid anything to do with them, but I'm still curious to find out more about them and what they did - whether it was a lot of good or a lot of damage. Anything you can tell me would be helpful. Thank you!
  9. I would be grateful for your interpretations and discernment about a prophecy I've been reflecting on. It's in an online recording called "The Divine Parallax." It's 20 minutes long, but sprinkled throughout is a clear sense that God is warning us of a nuclear holocaust right around the corner if we don't do something about it. <<<Removed YouTube Link Per ToS>>> I've listened to this a couple of times with a deep spirit of discernment, and I believe I am hearing the voice of God in this prophecy. As Jesus said, "My sheep will know my voice." There's only one thing: the person channeling in the Spirit is using a lot of profane language. This was a bit of a turnoff at first until I reflected on what was actually being said. There's a lot of spiritual warfare going on here, so I wonder if that's the reason for the language. I believe in spiritual warfare, and I also believe in the real possibility that God still uses sinners like He used the wicked Balaam Son of Peor as a bringer of prophecy in the Book of Numbers. I also see the scripture that a "House divided against itself cannot stand," and can clearly hear Satan being ordered to vacate before God's voice can be discerned in the prophecy. Any distortions I see are a result of language alone, and how do you translate the presence of God? Divine imminance intact, God can use anybody. With whatever wisdom and insight God gives you, please interpret with me what this is. What is the meaning of this recording called "The Divine Parallax." What is going on here? I don't think there's Satanic deception going on while he's being pummeled, but what is this? At the very least, we're seeing a very close and personal image of spiritual warfare. It even goes as far as to claim that this is the approaching time of Armageddon.... A section of prophecy from the YouTube description: "Remember this fallen state and do not repeat it. You have the power to nuke the world; now, go be responsible. I don't want nuclear payloads armed at anybody. If there is one nuclear payload left on this Earth, I annihilate Earth. This is God's direct command to the powers that be. I, God, will send a comet and obliterate the Earth if you do not comply. God has the power to send a comet to obliterate the Earth in 2016. Now you have a choice, humanity. You either rot in your *profanity* and let this keep going-- And this is your choice. This is- This is ultimately humanity's choice. You either stew in your own destruction, or you fix this. This is Armageddon. It's real. Either we, the spiritual people of this world, take by force, down, the evil powers of this world . . ." Note: Please forgive that I am new here and do not know how you manage videos. Since I do not know how to embed a video, I have not posted to the General Video section, and since this is about prophecy it seemed more approriate here. It was previously posted to a conspiracy website... (Yes, I read conspiracy websites. Shame on me.)
