  1. My eight year old son keeps asking to visit a friend whom I've been attempting to contact for a couple years now each time he asks to see them. The mother is a fun-loving Christian(as far as I know) who used to have him over for sleepovers with her son who is a few years older than mine. He's always asking to visit the mother though. She was always the cool mom/babysitter. I miss her as well. But since I last contacted her I learned her teenaged girl has become transgender. My son used to see her daughter every Sunday at our old church and she used to help with the kids often. I'm not ready to talk to my homeschooled 8 year old about LGBQT.... anything yet. It's hard enough going into the birds and the bees as it is (though we've had many age appropriate ones as my husband and I see fit). But her daughter looks very different and calls herself a different name. How do I explain that his friend insists on being called a different gender and name without totally confusing him?
  2. Hello I had a dream about 6 or 7 months ago after I returned back to live with my husband after our 5 separation. In the dream I saw myself and my children with chains around our necks. God also called this place the wilderness (our home) Anyone know what this dream means?
  3. Daily Reading 23 If you prefer, you can look up the following verses in your own Bible, of by whatever means and in whatever version you choose. Luke 18:1-17 Genesis 29:31-30:43 Psalm 23 Audio 5:27 Audio 9:~ Audio 0:53 The above addresses are linked to Bible Gateway. That is an easy way to read (or listen to) the Bible verses, and choose your version. Personally, I prefer written, that way I can go at my own pace, on think about it, before moving on. Nothing wrong with doing either or both. The Bible says faith comes by hearing. See the picture below to get an idea of what to expect if you follow the above links. Thank you Lord for making the your word so accessible for us in these times. Amen
  4. I teach English in a state (public) school and, which is a junior secondary one I mean a middle school. Well, in state schools we do not teach the Gospel but most of my pupils are Christian or attend a church then I would like all of them to know Yahweh the Lord God and obey Him every day and every where. Then I think of teaching them the Lord's Prayer for example which they canb repeat every day before starting a class ort another prayer I found online and in which we are going to pray with submitting the whole of our school, including all the teachers and the head teacher and the pupils and all clssrooms so that everything be under the Holy Spirit's control. Most like singing and I also want to teach them English canticles without neglecting the fact they dislike English for most I wonder how I could manage with. I am very motivated to do it when thinking of Colossians 3:23 and 1 Corinthians 10:31. Thanks for your replies and God bless you in Jesus Christ. Amen!
  5. Over the last several months, several loved ones have passed away, one of which chose to die at home and we were with him until the end. What really happens to us when we die? Do we go to be with Jesus or do we wait until he returns to call us home?
  6. Matthew 18:10-14 10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. 11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. 12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? 13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
  7. I found this from a journal entry almost 10 years ago, and thought I would share... sweet memories of when my children were all still at home. It's been a quiet and relaxing day... I'm grateful for that! ...even though my silly kids (ALL of them!) tried to save all the tadpoles in the drying-up "pond" (1/2 acre mud hole) out in "the desert" ...last time they did that, I wasn't aware, and started seeing little froggies hopping around the boy's room from the fish tank - double UGH!! This time they are keeping them outside in tanks and containers ...silly kids! Can't blame them though... but if there happens to be a world-wide frog epidemic, don't tell anyone who is responsible! (Hehe!) I asked Chrissy why they were doing that, and she said the water was drying up and the tadpoles would die ...I said we couldn't possibly save them all and asked how they chose which ones to "save" ...she smiled and said (as she demonstrated with her hands), "We're scooping them up like this... and the ones who stay in our hands are the 'chosen ones' and they are the ones who get saved." (Interesting!) So we discussed that a bit more with how GOD calls and draws people, but only those who hear and choose to come to Him and stay in His hands are "saved." (For many are called, but few are chosen.) Being "chosen" simply means we heard His call, and came and decided to place our lives in His hands! This was very interesting and timely discussion for us and these talks are right up Chrissy's alley! Oh, to see her eyes light up... it's a beautiful sight! Matthew 22:14, "For many are called, but few are chosen."
  8. Genesis 28:12 - "And he had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven; andbehold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." The word translated "angel" in the text is the Hebrew word "Mal'ak" (mal-awk'), which means to despatch as a deputy; a messenger; specifically, of God, ie. an angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher). The point is the messengers that are to ascend and descend upon this ladder are not just angelic beings, but God's messengers, which WE ARE CALLED TO BE. 2 Timothy 3:5 - "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." ANY REVELATION FROM TODAY'S WORD THAT DOES NOT LEAD US TO AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD ONLY SERVES TO MAKE US MORE RELIGIOUS. THE CHURCH CANNOT AFFORD "FORM WITHOUT POWER" FOR IT CREATES CHRISTIANS WITHOUT PURPOSE. THOSE WHO RESTRICT THEMSELVES TO MERE WORDS LIMIT THEIR GIFT, AND MAY UNINTENTIONALLY LEAD BELIEVERS TO PRIDE BY INCREASING KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT INCREASED AWARENESS OF GOD'S PRESENCE AND POWER. MOVING IN THE IMPOSSIBLE THROUGH RELYING ON GOD SHORT-CIRCUITS THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRIDE. Matthew 10:7,8 - "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." PRAYING FOR YOUR CHILDREN: 1. That they will know Christ as Savior early in life. Psalm 63:1, Timothy 3:15 2. That they will have a hatred for sin. Psalm 97:10 3. That they will be caught when guilty. Psalm 119:71 4. That they will be protected from the evil one in each area of their lives: spiritual, emotional, physical. John 17:15 5. That they will have a responsible attitude in all their interpersonal relationships. Daniel 6:3 6. That they will respect those in authority over them. Romans 13:1 7. That they will desire the right kind of friends and be protected from the wrong friends. Proverbs 1:10-11 8. That they will be kept from the wrong mate and saved for the right one. 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 9. That they, as well as those they marry, will be kept pure until marriage. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 10. That they will learn to totally submit to God and actively resist Satan in all circumstances. James 4:7 11. That they will be single-hearted, willing to be sold out to Jesus Christ. Romans 12:1-2 12. That they will be hedged in so that they cannot find their way to wrong people or wrong places and that the wrong people cannot find their way to them. Hosea 2:6 QUESTIONS TO ASK MYSELF: What am I willing to do to affect the spiritual destiny of my children? Am I willing to pray the above verses over my children every day? ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY

  11. First i would like to say may the Lord God bless your family and your health. 'Jesus said let the little ones come to me for the kingdom in heaven is theirs ' matt 19:14 OR Mark 10:14 That means the little ones are a blessing and you need to teach and train your children about the ways of God and this will help them grow in the light and helps them archieve a solid relationship with God . Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.Proverbs 22:6 Read stories to them and teach them the book of life .stay blessed may God be with you
  12. I am not in an ideal situation. Currently, I live with my boyfriend and we have a baby together, he is three months old. Since having our son I have felt strong conviction to turn my life to Christ and be a Biblical example of a mother and raise my child to know and love Christ. Unfortunately, my boyfriend doesn't see eye to eye. Because of my strong conviction that we should not live together unmarried and that I want to be more involved in a Christian community, and follow Christ completely, we have talked about splitting up. However, if we did I would have no where to go and I would have nothing. I am a stay at home mother, my bf does all of the working and so we only have one vehicle as we only saw the need for one because the plan was always for me to be a sahm. The vehicle is registered in his name. I also cannot get a job and save up to move out of the house because his work hours are crazy and change every week and I haven't been able to find a job that would work with his changing schedule so I could have the car when he wasn't etc. Also, around here there are no open spots for infant daycare until next year. So even if I could find that miracle job, I'd have no one to watch my child. I do have my step mother that has agreed in the past that she would watch the baby, but only 2-3 days out of the week. The only real option I have came up with is to stay with her, but she lives an hour a way and is pretty manipulative and has lied, lied, and lied again to my face and I don't think I could manage to do that. On top of that, she would not help with transportation so I still wouldn't have a viable way back and forth to work if I did stay with her. she also lives out in the middle of no where, so if I did stay there I would not even be able to walk back and forth to work. (I don't blame her for having boundaries with what she will and will not do for me, she's grown and done raising kids and shouldn't have to drive anyone around or help raise another one at this point) I don't have any other family that is capable of taking me in at this point. My dad lives states away, he has to live separate from my step mother for work. and my mother is not in the picture. My grandparents live somewhat further away, about an hour and a half and I can't put all of this stress of having a baby in their house on them at their age, that'd be pretty unfair of me. This is my situation that I have put myself into and nobody should have to take it upon themselves to help me out. I don't have access to any money but my boyfriends and he is not willing to help me leave, he is actually quite upset that I have taken this route. I would like to see myself living with my son in our own apartment, being an active member of a church community, having a steady job, and being able to provide for him on my own so that I could honor God and not live with someone unmarried. (my bf also refuses to get married at this point) I also see myself in the future getting a degree in Biblical studies and hopefully working for a ministry doing something like counseling or youth ministry. Does anyone have any advice for my situation or any resources to help me obtain this goal? If nothing else, prayers are totally accepted!
  13. A Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI) of $583 might work in the U.S.A.? Here’s a summary of how this would work from this second article from Business Insider in 2013. Which by the way, initially seems a lot more plausible that the $1000 a month article I linked earlier this week. 1. Settle on a monthly benefit. This 2nd Business Insider article initially proposes $583 a month guaranteed basic income for all Americans. 2. Not universal or for all citizens. But not so fast! The “rich” (anyone making over $60,000 a year) are excluded from this guaranteed income so it’s not universal. So this is essentially a tax on the “rich” and indeed a redistribution proposal. The math is a little fuzzy here. They proposed $500 in one paragraph but $583 is the number used in the example. Benefits are reduced by $233 a year for each $1,000 rise in income over $30,000 a year. The article proposes that someone earning $45,000 would receive a guaranteed basic income of $3500 yearly or $291.67 a month. Anyone earning more than $60,000 a year receives nothing. I did the math myself and this would likely cost about $700 Billion based on a articles I read from Think Progress and this US Census source for 2014 Population, % of Population under 18, % of Population over 65. Here's a breakdown: $30,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $6,996.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. $31,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $6,763.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. $32,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $6,530.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. ... $40,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $4,666.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. ... $45,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $3,501.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. ... $50,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $2,336.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. ... $55,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $1,171.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. ... $65,000 yearly household income would see a GBI benefit of $0.00 yearly. Plus $1500 yearly per child. 3. Adults with children receive an additional benefit. All parents would receive$1500 yearly or $125 monthly per child. I personally think there probably would need to be some sort of maximum benefits for say 4 or 5 children. Assume about 54.2 million children so $81.4 Billion. 4. Seniors (over 65) do not receive this basic income. The argument is senior citizens have social security with an average monthly benefit of $1,3000. I think senior citizens are a huge voting block and would likely never go for this if they were excluded. How to pay for this? From the article. In parenthesis my thoughts. It would potentially eliminate a lot of jobs. It would potentially create a lot of jobs. It would allow those with lower income to use the money where they needed it. What do you think?
  14. Hey all! Did you all know that there is a great need for the Gospel right here in the United States? I love missions, both international and domestic gospel missions. People all over the world need Christ. In our own backyard, the need is just as great. Just a couple of weeks ago, two kids I was working with told me they had never really heard of what Jesus did before. Where is this? In the Baltimore-DC area! Opportunity abounds all around us to proclaim the Gospel truth, whether it's to our neighbors, coworkers, friends, acquaintances, doctors, clients, and business associates. Many people have never heard of the Gospel before. Or, they have sat in church all their life and they have never considered the Gospel for themselves. Or, perhaps their church was not sound and did not really emphasize the Gospel. The Gospel needs to be proclaimed everywhere, both here and abroad, and Open Air Campaigners lives to encourage people to do that. Open Air Campaigners is an international missions board, having missionaries in places like India, Africa, Ukraine, the UK, and parts of South America. OAC also has missionaries in Canada and the US, and has multiple branches in the States (where I'm located). We're probably best known for our "sketchboard", what we often use to share the Gospel with people in the public square and in schools. This creates a visual background and an opening to share the Gospel with people. Along with other creative aids, we strive to reach people with the Gospel with love, passion, and clarity. I would love to share what I do with the folks here at Worthy Forums. There's a few ways you can keep up with my updates so you can see what OAC is like and my missions work. God willing, I hope to hear from you guys soon! God bless! :-)
  15. http://nypost.com/2014/12/12/christian-leader-isis-savages-behead-four-children/ All of them under the age of 15, God Bless them for their moral courage and unwaivering faith. I pray that all Christians will have the moral courage these children had. “The children, all under 15, four of them, they said, ‘No, we love Yeshua [Jesus], we have always loved Yeshua.’
  16. I have heard the quote. " God does not imbue/hold accountable children for their sin until they reach the age of accountability". I have searched and searched in scripture for this to no avail. Does anyone know where this is located in the bible? I'm starting to think this is like the sea of forgetfulness. I have heard so many people talk about the sea of forgetfulness. Preachers give entire sermons on this subject and principle. Quote the phrase " sea of forgetfulness " over and over. People will say that God casts believers sins into this sea of forgetfulness and tell you it's in the bible. I've heard preachers defend this to the point of calling me a heretic for not believing in a literal sea of forgetfulness. I searched scripture. After much study I came to the realization that the bible never one time mentions a sea of forgetfulness that God casts our sins into. It's a coined phrase out of these verses I think. Micah 7:18-19 Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. 19 He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea. These verses, to the best of my understanding, is where people get that God casts our sins into a literal Sea of forgetfulness. While the principle that God does cast our sins into a sea is correct and scripture. God will remember our sins no more is also correct and in the bible. There is no Sea called the sea of forgetfulness ever mentioned in scripture. It is a tradition. Man's tradition, not scripture. So is the phrase and principle of " God does not imbue children with sin " in the bible or is it tradition of men? If anyone can show me I would be grateful. If the basic principle is there and the phrase is not, I would still appreciate if you could point me to, or show me the verses that states this belief. I am looking for this in the bible, so as many verses on this subject as possible would be appreciated. Thank you Firestormx Joseph
  17. I found this while surfing for news. I really think this is going too far. (I hope I did this right. I never tried to post a video before ) http://video.foxnews...intcmp=obinsite
  18. I am not a mother however I have some VERY picky siblings that do not seem to like real food as most kids I have seen. However even if your children are eating sugary cereal you can use this trick to get some nutrition in their bodies. It may NOT work on all children seeing as how their pallet is very sensitive at a young age however it does not hurt to give it a shot. Buy what is called Silk Soy Milk chocolate flavor. If your kids like bananas or strawberries or anything that goes good with chocolate grab that as well. Make their cereal like you normally do but instead of using normal milk which contains a high amount of fat, and other things I have noticed, use the chocolate Soy Milk and but their favorite fruit in it and mix it all up. Some kids won't taste the difference but some might. Give it a try.
  19. So I've been studying Ezekiel this week and came across chapter 18. See Ezekiel 18. So first, what does Ezekiel 18 say to modern parents? Second, what do you think of the following thoughts and passage below? It is not the responsibility of parents’ for the actions of their children. Children by the same token are not responsible for the actions of their parents either. Each must give an account to God for his or her actions. Ezekiel 18:19-20 19 “Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?’ Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live. 20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. God bless, GE

  21. This will dovetail well with wingnuts article on homosexuality, because these are the two bastions that remain for upholding our rights. Like so many other things, on the surface this may look good. You may want to look deeper. http://www.corestandards.org/ I first heard about this on radio while driving, a few days ago. I missed the program the next morning, then today I happened to be driving again and heard Glen Beck speak about it. This is not going to be something I want for my grandchildren, nor for your children. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/03/27/indoctrination-and-data-mining-in-common-core-heres-why-americas-schools-may-be-in-more-trouble-than-you-think/ There are videos embedded in this article, but I did not see any of them, though I did click on one to see if it would come up - it did. Mods, if the Beck article needs to be moved, please do so.
  22. In bringing up our son in God's truth I cam accross this quesiton last night with my wife... The question was this: How do we approach made-up figures like Santa Clause, the Toothe Fairy, the Ester Bunny, etc. when educating our children? I have some thoughts on the matter but I would like to get others perspectives on this. Before the thread get's going I was wondering if we could all who post on this thread agree to the following. A. I agree God is love. (John 3:16, 1 John 4:9-12,John 13:34-35, Romans 5:8) B. I agree God loves us. (Psalm 37:28, Proverbs 8:17, Deuteronomy 7:9, 1 John 3:1) C. I agree nothing can separate us from God’s love (Rom. 8:37-39) D. I agree we need to be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit teaches us through His Word. He primarily speaks to us through His Word which is good for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training in righteousness. (2 Tim. 2:16-17) E. I agree God uses other Believers to stretch us and grow us. (Prov. 27:17) F. I agree sometimes we can do good things with good intentions with the wrong motivations. (Prov. 21:2, Matt. 6:1, Gal. 1:10, Phil 2:3) G. I agree we, Christians, are ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20) who should be known by our love for others. (John 13:35) H. I agree we are citizens of Heaven as Christians (Phil. 3:20) passing through strange lands. (1 Pet. 2:11-12) I. I agree we are to love God above all else (Matt. 22:37) and love our neighbors as ourselves. (Matt. 22:39) If so just start your post by saying... "I agree" please.
