Hello Worthy people and God bless your souls with the rich Kingship of Yeshua! This has been a huge issue Christians I know and myself have had to encounter recently. At times it has felt like Jesus Himself was the stronghold trying to move against me, then I realized Jesus is in the savage people trying to heal, and claiming a quite acceptable position for Himself with every tribe and tongue. Hello new wine skins!! During the conversion process (for them and myself) I am serving beyond the boundaries of human culture I am used to, and acceptable behavior. Jesus has said, "DO NOT LAY YOUR HANDS VIOLENTLY ON A MAN IF YOU'RE FACING THREATS, BUT REBUKE THEM WITH MY AUTHORITY." He who lives by the sword dies by the sword, this is the faith and patience of the saints. Have courage, believe me this is needed for the church now. IF WE DON'T SURRENDER AND FACE THREATS THAT HE SAYS WE NEED TO FACE, THEN OUR SECURITY AND LOVE FOR THE WORLD WILL NEVER FADE. AMEN.

South African society Yesterday I described my church background. Today I will focus on my South African background. I have spoken about South African history and society in the past and information about this is widely available. This just a brief summary which i hope will help you understand where I am coming from in future entries. Let me begin with a terminological difference. The terms conservative and liberal mean very different things to a South African. In fact, almost the opposite from how it might be understood in America. Except that here, conservativism is a very complex concept. Diversity is considered a strength here and multiculturalism is encouraged. Many groups have their own traditions and from that perspective, each group have their own brand of conservatism. The other thing to remember is that the native people of the land are both the majority and, as a result, also dominate in government. However, in many areas South Africa has been westernised. It is also a very religious society, although it does not usually look like you might expect it to. By far the majority of people believe in God. However, many of these people are not well educated and only know the basics. They also freely mix Christianity with their own beliefs. There are strong anglican and catholic communities. There is a fairly large Muslim population. But protestants form the majority. Many of these are quite nominal, although church attendance here is still quite high (when it isn't restricted by Covid regulations). A lot of things have been influenced by our past. This includes education and this is our biggest issue. There are plenty of problems. Yet you will find that many South Africans are quite resilient and intensly patriotic. I can consider myself blessed. I am well off, in spite of struggling to find work. I have had one of the best education available to a South African. I've been birn in a part of the country that is well ordered and economically stable. And I've been exposed to a wide variety of viewpoints. My more problematic circumstances are partly the result of the problems facing our country as a whole, but they have affect me less negatively than it would had I not been born into an academic, Christian family. I am a compassionate person and when I look around me, I often feel uncomfortable because I am in a better position than so many who are working so hard to make ends meet. There is a lot more to what I have said here. And if you have any questions you are welcome to ask. But I think this should be enough for now. Next time I want to discuss my own personality and where I am, mentally, at this point. Again, I'm doing this, not to focus on myself. But I believe that so much of how we approach scripture, has to do with our background and our current ways of thinking. And that's why I'm beginning this way.

the reason why moses told the jews not to eat pigs is because it wasn't part of their natural diet and if u eat any animal that's not part of your natural diet it can make u ill, which it did to them in Hosea, likewise our western culture doesn't eat cats and dogs but many eastern cultures do, clean and unclean is just as much about culture and health as religion.

My first Pastor talked about the way the staff may have been used in the time of David and Goliath. I seem to remember him stating that it was a custom to mark on the staff you carried, victories you had won. It went something like, when David killed the lion and bear, he drew on his staff ta picture to represent this event. Then when he fought Goliath, he may had had the staff with him and held it up in front of him. This would cause him to see the staff, and not Goliath as it would block his view partially. I love the image and lesson in this, even if I never learn more about it. The idea is, that you only see your victories instead of the the enemy before you. Does anyone know of any customs like this? I figure it may be cool to hear of this a little more. I will just visit this post from time to time to see if anyone does.

I propose the following consequences are the result of de-volution of cultures due to sin... Summary of Sin's Progression in a Culture: 1. Mankind rejected God’s truth. 2. Not only that but we have suppressed God’s truth and followed after unrighteousness. 3. Because of Mankind’s rejection of truth we fell into idolatry. 4. This leads to fornication and adultery in heterosexual relationships. 5. This is the classic example of the consequences of men not being spiritual leaders in their homes, in the Church, and in society at large. 6. Marriage is no longer valued. So... 7. This then leads to unnatural relations between women. 8. This then leads to unnatural relations between men. 9. God allowed mankind to have a degraded mind and be consumed by all sort of sin. Is this the case in the U.S. today and abroad? Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?
