  1. From Daily Blessings....by J. C. Philpot “You will subdue our iniquities; and will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” - Mic 7:19 Sin subdued is the next greatest blessing to sin pardoned; and wherever God pardons sin, he subdues sin; for the same grace which saves sanctifies; the same grace which casts sin behind God’s back, puts its foot upon the corruptions of the believer, and prevents iniquity from having dominion over him. The Scripture is very plain and express upon this point. “Sin shall not have dominion over you.” Why? “Because you are not under the law,” which gives sin its strength and power, “but under grace,” which is able to subdue its dominion. Nor do I believe that any child of God can ever rest satisfied except by the subduing of his sins as well as the pardoning of them. To have his unbelief, infidelity, worldly-mindedness, pride, and covetousness subdued by the grace of God, its power taken out of it, its dominion dethroned, its authority destroyed, and its strength weakened and diminished, that he may not be under the dominion of any lust, or carried away by the strength of any secret or open sin, but may walk before God in the light of his countenance, as desirous to know his will and do it—this is the desire and breathing of every one that knows sin in its guilt, filth, and power. How gracious, then, is the promise, how sweet the favor, that the Lord has promised to subdue our iniquities by the same grace as that whereby he pardons them; that, as we receive the blood of Christ to sprinkle the conscience, so we receive the grace of Christ to sanctify and renew the soul, and the strength of Christ to overcome all our inward and outward foes.
  2. Charles Spurgeon's Faith's Checkbook has many gems of thought in it. I'll try to add more of these devotionals, hopefully each day or so. Divine Recompense He that watereth shall be watered also himself. (Proverbs 11:25) If I carefully consider others, God will consider me, and in some way or other He will recompense me. Let me consider the poor, and the Lord will consider me. Let me look after little children, and the Lord will treat me as His child. Let me feed His flock, and He will feed me. Let me water His garden, and He will make a watered garden of my soul. This is the Lord's own promise; be it mine to fulfill the condition and then to expect its fulfillment. I may care about myself till I grow morbid; I may watch over my own feelings till I feel nothing; and I may lament my own weakness till I grow almost too weak to lament. It will be far more profitable for me to become unselfish and out of love to my Lord Jesus begin to care for the souls of those around me. My tank is getting very low; no fresh rain comes to fill it; what shall l do? I will pull up the plug and let its contents run out to water the withering plants around me. What do I see? My cistern seems to fill as it flows. A secret spring is at work. While all was stagnant, the fresh spring was sealed; but as my stock flows out to water others the Lord thinketh upon me. Hallelujah!
  3. What is your favorite devotional? I have a few: Drawing Near (John MacArthur) My Utmost for His Highest (Oswald Chambers) -- very challenging! Becoming a Woman Who Walks with God (Cynthia Heald) And I'm using a current book I'm reading as a devotional by looking up the many Scripture references to learn and memorize them: Overcoming Fear, Worry, and Anxiety (by Elyse Fitzpatrick -- an excellent Bible-based book). I'm interested in knowing what others use to enrich their Bible study and quiet times with the Lord.
  4. Psalm 139:23,24 - "Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." Observation: THE ENEMIES WHICH DEFEAT ME ARE HIDDEN AND LATENT WITHIN ME. THE HOLY SPIRIT MUST EXPOSE MY FOES BEFORE I CAN CONQUER THEM! AM I TOO PROUD OR TOO INSECURE TO ADMIT I NEED HELP? John 10:10 - "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." The Holy Spirit, the Helper, is ready to give out gifts and is giving out gifts to those who are ASKING,KNOCKING and SEEKING and BELIEVING that God will do what He says He will do. Divine increase abounds right and left. Curses will be broken and blessings of God will be released. AFFIRMATIONS: I CONFESS THAT JESUS CHRIST HAS COME THAT I MIGHT HAVE, KEEP, AND CONSTANTLY RETAIN A VITALITY, GUSTO, VIGOR, AND ZEST FOR LIVING THAT SPRINGS UP FROM DEEP DOWN INSIDE ME. I'M TAKING MY EYES OFF THE LOW ROAD, AND I'M HEADED FOR THE HIGH ROAD OF BLESSING GOD HAS PLANNED FOR ME! Isaiah 55:1,2 - "Wait and listen, every one who is thirsty, come to the waters, and he that has no money: come, buy, and eat; yes, come buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which does not satisfy? hearken diligently unto me, and eat that which is good and let your soul delight itself in fatness (the profuseness of spiritual joy)." Observation: WHY DO I OFFER THE SILVER OF MY WILL FOR WHAT IS NOT BREAD (THE BREAD OF THE DIVINE SPIRIT) AND WASTE THE LABOR FOR MY APPETITES ON WHAT CANNOT SATISFY THEM? I WAIT AND LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HAVE THE FOOD I DESIRE AND MY SOUL DELIGHTS IN ABUNDANCE. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  5. Jeremiah 15:19 - "If you return, then I will restore you - Before Me you will stand; and if you extract the precious from the worthless, you will become My spokesman." OBSERVATION: If I allow the Holy Spirt to move through me, I will be constantly searching for those whose lives are formless and void. I will become a bridge for them into the glorious, creative purposes of God. Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me." Imagine awakening every morning with the confidence of God's strength in you. And this strength in you according to His wealth, according to the riches of His glory, according to who He is. OBSERVATION: GOD IS GLORIFIED WHEN I CHOOSE NOT TO LIMIT HIM AND NOT TO LIMIT MYSELF. Genesis 1:26 - "The God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and LET THEM rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." WITH THE WORDS "LET THEM" THE CREATOR DEFINED THE BOUNDARIES OF HIS RIGHT TO LEGALLY INFLUENCE AND INTERFERE IN THE EARTH REALM. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  6. 1 Timothy 2:1 - "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men." We can bear the burdens of others and we are the go-between for them before God. We identify with the weak, helpless, fear-filled, unborn, sick, poverty stricken, homeless, hungry, depressed, and spiritually destitute. We ask on their behalf, in faith, believing. Then, as the Father gives direction, we GO and minister to them and His power becomes available to set them free. AFFIRMATION: I inwardly ask for the joy of the Lord and a deeper awareness of His presence to rise up within every person I meet. 1 Corinthians 15:34 - "Awake to righteousness, and sin not: for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." AFFIRMATIONS: I press-in to and become conscious of the reality of the righteousness God birthed in me the moment I received Jesus as Lord. As that righteousness consciousness grows and develops within me, it will eventually become bigger and more powerful than all the problems that surround me as I seek God's purpose for my life. I am becoming more skillful in "the word of righteousness." Hebrews 5:13 - "For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the Word of righteousness; for he is a babe." Matthew 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Affirmations: I CANNOT HAVE A GREAT LIFE UNLESS I HAVE A PURPOSE CENTERED LIFE. I CANNOT HAVE A GOD'S PURPOSE FILLED LIFE UNLESS I HAVE A PURE MIND. I CANNOT HAVE A PURE MIND UNLESS I WASH IT DAILY WITH THE WORD OF GOD. 2 Timothy 2:16 - "Keep away from godless and foolish discussions, which only drive people farther away from God." ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  7. Galatians 1:10 - "If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ." Observation: IF I AM TO WALK WITH CHRIST I NEED TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE FEAR OF MAN, THE COMPULSION TO BE ACCEPTED BY MEN, AND THE MOTIVE OF WANTING TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM THEM. Acts 6:4 - "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." TO PRAY IS TO CHANGE. Observation: PRAYER IS THE CENTRAL AVENUE GOD USES TO TRANSFORM ME. IF I AM UNWILLING TO CHANGE I WILL ABANDON PRAYER AS A NOTICEABLE CHARACTERISTIC OF MY LIFE. Psalm 63:1 - "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is." John 15:7 - "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you." Some are willing to spend hours in prayer asking for a miracle instead of planting the Word of God in their hearts, which in time would produce the miracle. Prayer is what water and fertilizer are to a seed. They help the Word release its life. But if you haven't planted the seed, it doesn't matter how much water and fertilizer you apply, the soil still won't produce fruit. It's the seed that has life! AFFIRMATION: The creative language of God is demonstrated when I speak forth the creative word of God in boldness and confidence because it is abiding in my spirit. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  8. Romans 6:11 - "Likewise recon ye yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Affirmation: I DEEM MYSELF TO BE DEAD TO SIN, ENERGIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT TO WALK IN THE RESURRECTION POWER OF JESUS CHRIST. Hosea 4:6 - "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." This infers that if God's people had knowledge of who they really are in Christ, of who God is, and of the rights and priveleges of their DOMINION -- they wouldn't be destroyed. Jesus walked in union with His Father. We too must do the same with Him. We only have true SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY to the degree that we are abiding in Him. The angels do not respect us and the demons do not obey us because of who we are, but because of who is in us. Affirmation: MY IGNORANCE OF THE WORD OF GOD IS THE ONLY EFFECTIVE WEAPON AN ENEMY CAN USE AGAINST ME. John 15:7 - "If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." Observation: ONCE THE WORD OF GOD BEGINS TO ABIDE IN ME AND IT BECOMES A RHEMA WORD (A WORD FROM GOD SPOKEN TO MY SPIRIT) THEN WHEN I TALK OR SPEAK IT, SITUATIONS WILL CHANGE. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  9. 1 John 5:3,4 - “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” AFFIRMATION: The Word is born of God. The Word of God will overcome the world. World-overcoming faith is in my spirit right now. John 15:10 - “If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” Jesus’ loving me has nothing to do with me. It has to do with Him obeying the Father’s command. Mat 22:37,39 - “Jesus said unto him, ‘Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.’” Romans 14:17 - “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” AFFIRMATION: Christianity is not about what I put into my life. But what God has already put in my life. The new covenant is: 1. I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus. 2. I am filled with the love and Spirit of God. 3. And All God has for me is already inside of me the moment I was born again. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  10. I love You, God, because You first loved me. (1 John 4:19) You sent Your only begotten Son, Jesus, to this earth out of Your love for me and for others. I have believed on Him and now, I will not perish - I have everlasting life. You did not send Jesus to condemn me, but to save me, and I thank You for that! (John 3:16,17) God, if You loved me that much, I should give love to others. (1 John 4:11) So, I will love others. It's a sign that I've been born of You, because You are love. But if I fail to love others, I fail to love You. Help me to always love! (1 John 4:7,8) I put on love each day, as if it's a coat, because I know that You consider it the highest of all virtues - Your love binds every other good virtue together and makes them one. (Colossians 3:14) Love is the most important sacrifice to another person that I can make. I will love God with all my heart, soul, mind and all my strength, Lord, and I will love my neghbor as myself. (Mark 12:33) Help me to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me. I do this in obedience to You, my Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:44) I love others because You have loved me, and people will know that I'm a disciple of Yours because of the love that I show. (John 13:34-35) Circumcise my heart, God. Consecrate me and help me to love You with all my heart and soul so that I may truly live well! (Deuteronomy 30:6) Father, help me to remain in Your love just like Jesus. He always obeyed Your commands and always remained in Your love. (John 15:10) Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit! Through Him, You have poured Your great love into my heart! (Romans 5:5) God, I know the Your love matters the most - though I speak many words, including the tongues of angels, if I don't love others, my words are nothing but a lot of noise! I can prophesy, understand everything there is to know, and have faith enough to move mountains. I can give everything I have to feed the poor, even if I give my own body as a sacrifice to You, but without love, none of these things do any good at all: Love matters most! (1 Corinthians 13:1-3) Help me to see Your love for what it is - patient and kind, never envious, boastful, proud, rude, self-seeking, or easily angered. You love stops me from keeping a record of wrongs or delighting in what is evil. Your love helps me to rejoice in truth and always protect, trust, hope, and persevere! (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) Whatever I do, Lord, help me to do it in love! (1 Corinthians 16:14) The covenant I have with You, God, is not because of something physical, like circumcision. My covenant was made through Jesus Christ - and my faith works by love! (Galatians 5:6) The fruit of your Spirit is love. (Galatians 5:22) I was called by God to be free! But, I don't use my freedom as an excuse to live in sin and do only what I want. Instead, I serve others in the way of love. (Galatians 5:13) God, You are rich in mercy and because of Your great love for me, You have made me alive with Christ! Even when I was dead in sin, you made a way of grace so that I could be saved! (Ephesians 2:4-5) I am being rooted and established in love. I'm gaining the power to grasp the amazing measurements of Your love. I realize that it surpasses all knowledge, but in "seeking" to find its measurements, I am being filled with the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:17-19) I'm a volunteer prisoner of You and I will live a life worthy of Your calling. In humility, gentleness, and patience, I will bear what others do in love. I will strive to always keep the unity of Your Spirit and keep the peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3) I speak the truth in love and it causes me to grow up in all things - I'm a part of the body of Christ and we serve under the Head of the Church, Jesus Christ! We work together in love and this unites the whole body of Christ! (Ephesians 4:15,16) Like a child imitates those he admires, I imitate You Jesus, and live a life of love! Because You loved me and gave Yourself for me as a good-smelling offering to God, I will give myself to others, as an offering to You. (Ephesians 5:1) I will speak peace, love, and faith over all my brothers and sisters today! (Ephesians 6:23) Thank You for correcting my heart when I do wrong. I know that You discipline those You love. (Hebrews 12:6) I will live in harmony with others and be sympathetic, compassionate, and humble. (1 Peter 3:8) Above it all, I will love others deeply because love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8) I have known and believed in the love that You have for me. You are Love and I make my life in You. Your great love is being perfected in me day-to-day. I will be able to have boldness in the day of judgment because I have a life of love! 1 John 4:16,17) I won't fear! Your love in me casts fear out! I'm being made perfect in Your love day by day! (1 John 4:18) ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
