  1. Passover 5781 (Exodus 12:21-51) “This day is to be a memorial for you. You are to keep it as a feast to AD’NAI. Throughout your generations you are to keep it as an eternal ordinance.” Exodus 12:14, Tree of Life Version Moshe explained in careful detail to B’nei Yisrael, what was to occur on their last night in Egypt (Mitzraim). Each family was to take a lamb on the tenth of Nissan, and keep it until the fourteenth of Nissan, when it would slaughtered. They were to take the blood of the lamb, “and strike it upon the two mezuzot (doorposts) and on the mashkof (lintel) of the batim (houses), wherein they shall eat it” (Exodus 12:7, OJB). “The blood will serve you as a sign marking the houses where you are; when I see the blood, I will pass over [Hebrew: pasach] you when I strike the land of Egypt, the death blow will not strike you” (Exodus 12:13, Complete Jewish Bible). The commandment to commemorate this event in the future was given before it occurred. This is the surety of H’Shem’s faithfulness. He commanded the Children of Israel to trust in Him, to the extent of protecting themselves from the Angel of Death, by following the one-time commandment, to take the blood of the Pesach lamb, and place it upon their doorways. This was an act of emunah (faith), and the commandment given to commemorate this event in the future, to remember (zikaron) their impending redemption, served as an assurance that all would proceed, according to H’Shem’s will. Imagine being told that what will occur on a certain day would not only bring freedom from slavery; additionally, that event has already been placed on the calendar every year, so that future generations will commemorate that day. Yet, while still in Egypt, B’nei Yisrael was at risk of being further subjagated to the yetzer hara (evil inclination), especially because of the idolatrous ways that had negatively impacted their lives. While in bondage in Mitzraim, the B’nei Yisrael had sunk to a low level of impurity, having neglected to distance themselves from the surrounding environment of idolatry. The Midrash records that when about to cross through the Sea of Reeds, the angels questioned their merit, saying both these and those, i.e., the Children of Israel and the Egyptians, were both idol worshippers. Why should these be spared, and the others not? Yet, H’Shem honored the covenant that he made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in order to bring His newly acquired nation out of bondage, and into covenant relationship with Him through Torah. H’Shem brought us out of Egypt, to Mount Sinai, where He gave us the Torah. He had said to Moses, “This shall be the token unto thee, that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve G-d upon this mountain” (Exodus 3:12, JPS 1917 Tanach). The revelation of Mount Sinai was the pinnacle of the redemption. Why? “The tables were the work of G-d, and the writing was the writing of G-d, graven upon the tables” (Exodus 32:16, JPS). The Hebrew word for engrave is charut. The Sages note that the word cherut, freedom is from the same shoresh (root word). This implies that our freedom is derived through Torah. B’nei Yisrael was enslaved to sin in Egypt, having assimilated, to some degree, to the immorality of Egypt at that time. Although freed from slavery in Egypt, we were still slaves to sin; so, H’Shem gave us the Torah to free us from bondage to the yetzer harah (evil inclination). Ultimately, we can not do this on our own; rather, our unblemished Pesach Lamb, Yeshua HaMoshiach serves as our means to defeat the yetzer hara (evil inclination), and set us free from sin. For H'Shem, “sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, He condemned sin in the flesh – so that the requirement of the Torah might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Ruach” (Romans 8:3-4, TLV).
  2. The traditional view holds that they crossed the red sea at Gulf of Suez but all the facts points to the Gulf of Aqaba and into Saudi Arabia. And not at the Gulf of Suez. 15th Nissan: Israel travelled from Rameses to Succoth. They travelled from Succoth to Etham. At Etham they turned back and came to Pi-hahiroth (mouth of water). Israel was trapped. Pi-hahiroh was surrounded by mountains that terminated at the sea. These mountains were impassable by reason of their roughness. Israel was shut in by the surrounding mountains and cut off ahead by the sea. Behind them was Pharaoh‘s army. Three days journey It was all a three day event. They were marching day and night to get out of the Egyptians territory domain altogether. They knew Pharaoh would be coming after them if they were still in his domain. In God’s eyes, the exodus of Egypt and the death and resurrection of Jesus are one and the same event. Both events took place at the same time. At the time, they killed the Passover Lamb, Jesus died on the cross. On the 3rd morning after the Passover, at the same moment Israel came out the water, Jesus rose from the dead. At the time Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and the sea returned to its full depth and drowned all Pharaoh’s army, Jesus took the keys of hell and death from Satan and literally stripped him of all his weapons .Both events happened at the same time: while it was still dark before morning Jesus rose from the dead (Exodus 14:27, John 20:1). When morning appear (Hebrew right before the morning). The NIV says: at day break (the last watch before dawn 3-6am) The distance from Suez Canal to Nuweiba beach - Gulf of aqaba is 336 km (210 miles). In 1967, Moshe Dayan marched his troops on foot over the same area, only he marched only during the day and it took him six days. The Hebrews did not stop and camped every night. They travelled day and night non-stop. They travelled with great speed with supernatural help. An average speed of 2.9 miles per hour with their livestock and belongings. The average person can walk 3 miles per hour without any baggage. Before them by day in a pillar of cloud was God to lead them on the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel day and night. It was a LONG distance. They had supernatural strength from GOD. he carried them on eagles wings. That in itself is a miracle and a wonder. Man and livestock were travelling day and night non-stop for 3 days. When they were crossing the red sea, it was in the last watch before dawn 3-6am. Here is another greater miracle! During the yon Kippur war 1973, the Egyptian army was unable to last more than 3 days in the desert. Yet 2.5 million people survived there for 40 days. At least 2.5 million gallons of water a day would be needed for that number of people. They had provision for the pilgrimage. Manna from heaven every day and water out of the rock that followed after them continually. And their shoes did not wear out. No wonder the Psalms are so full of the praises of the LORD, what He did for Israel when He brought them out of Egypt. Who is like the LORD? His greatness is unsearchable. He is mighty to save. Tectonic uplift Pharaoh’s army drowned at the place of the Tectonic uplift Nuweibaal Muzayyinah at the gult of aquba translated waters of Moses opening .That’s where Archaeologist have discovered remains of wheels and parts, remains of man and horses bone. It is littered with Chariots. Nuweiba Beach - the only place on either gulf big enough for millions of Israelites and their herds. They have also discovered a tectonic uplift at the place of the red sea crossing. As Israel came out of the water in the place of the tectonic uplift, Jesus rose from the dead. The tectonic uplift is also the place where Pharaoh’s army were drowned. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is God’s greatest display of power to the powers of darkness.
  3. Two one liners: From Faith-Driven Consumer,“The portrayal of God as a willful, angry and petulant child in EXODUS will be a deal breaker for most people of faith around the world,” And from Religious News Service, Jonathan Merritt: "...but they’ll go see the film anyway. Religious people are as enamored by celebrity culture as any other group, and the big-name cast will draw many." If gambling were not a sin, where would you place your bets?
