  1. And why did he drink the sour wine vinegar before his death on the cross? This part of the gospels has been confusing me lately and I have been struggling to understand what he meant Matthew 26:29- 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. Mark 14:25- 25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. Luke 22:18- 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
  2. The TOTKOGAE was in the Garden of Eden, that is the Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil. Gen 2:9 (9) And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In the above verse the wording is general, referring only to "knowledge of good and evil", but in the verse below the wording is specific, referring to "the knowledge of good and evil". Gen 2:16-17 (16) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: (17) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die. We have the phrase "ignorance is bliss" and it was bliss for Adam and Eve before they gained knowledge of good and evil. We are not told the extent of the knowledge of good and evil that they gained from eating of the TOTKOGAE, but we can be sure it was experiential. They knew they were guilty of disobeying God and were ashamed now that they had lost their covering of innocence and the countdown was on for their bodies to age and die. A FAQ is "Why was the TOTKOGAE in the Garden of Eden where it was accessible to Adam and Eve?" I believe its inclusion was integral to God's relationship with Adam and Eve, and by implication with His Creation. Good and evil were of course known to God but since He had previously declared all aspects of His Creation as good this was the only experience He desired for all things to have. Satan of course had other plans. From the beginning of Creation Satan's evil desires meant God was confronted with opposition, and meant His Creation was exposed to the possibility of experiencing the conflict that opposition to Him always brings. I believe the Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil refers us to the Omniscience of God and introduces us to His provision to deal with all that opposes Him in order to ensure the victory of good over evil. John 8:44 (44) You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
  3. John 15:16 - Jesus said, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit -- fruit that will last. Ask the Lord to come into your vineyard. Let Him prophetically reveal to you the fruit you are going to bring forth in the future. Enter into His PURPOSE for your life. We must desire to fully finish the course--in such a manner as to hear the Lord say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Our greatest opportunity of all time to walk with God and be His messengers. Do you have the message? Are you beholding the glory of the Lord? Can others behold His glory on you? Affirmation: GOD HAS CALLED ME, AND HE HAS AN APPOINTED PLACE FOR ME (MY CALLING IN CHRIST). GOD WANTS ME IN A PLACE OF DIVINE APPOINTMENTS. HE WANTS ME IN THE PLACE OF DIVINE BLESSINGS TO OTHERS. HE WANTS ME IN THE PLACE OF DIVINE MIRACLES, DIVINE PROVISION, AND DIVINE PROTECTION. "NOW, AFTER this,......Ezra went up from Babylon, and the king granted him all he requested because the hand of the Lord his God was upon him." - Ezra 1:7,6 When does this happen? NOW! This verse says, "Now after this...". The time is now. God is a now God and this is a now word! It's a now time and a now season. The Church needs to arise because we are now in a new time! Take your eyes off of the "this" and put them on the "after"! Do you have a vision? If not, you better get one! Habakkuk 2:2 says, "Write the vision..."Proverbs 29:18 says, "Without a vision, the people perish." How can God give you provision for the vision if you don't have a vision? Write the vision so you can operate in the PROVISION! Once you have this godly game plan—a strategy—you can trust God to fulfill it. He will give you more than you ask for, over and above anything you can ask, think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). There will be so much, in fact, that God has a contingency plan! This is for you to do what you know to be in alignment with God's will with the extra that He gives you—above and beyond your budget—even exceeding your vision! God trusts you to do what is right. Because He has trusted you with the little, He can trust you with the big! He knows He can trust you with the PROVISION! He will give you what you NEED to SUCCEED in the "after"! Song of Solomon 3:11 - "Go forth, daughters of Zion, and behold King Solomon with the crown which his mother crowned him with in the day of his wedding, and in the day of the gladness of his heart." CHRIST INVITES ALL INWARD BELIEVERS, WHO ARE DAUGHTERS OF ZION, TO COME OUT OF THEMSELVES. BEHOLD YOUR KING (JESUS) WITH THE CROWN OF GLORY GIVEN TO HIM BY GOD HIMSELF! HE IS CLOTHED IN HIS DIVINE CONQUESTS, AND HE DESIRES TO SHARE THEM WITH YOU. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  4. Luke 11:9 - "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." JESUS IS TELLING US, "DON'T STOP AFTER YOU PRAY. GET UP AND GO LOOK FOR WHAT YOU ASKED FOR. YOU WILL FIND IT IF YOU SEEK IT. IT MAY BE BEHIND SOME CLOSED DOORS. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN KNOCK. WHEN THE DEVIL TRIES TO HOLD IT BACK, JUST KEEP PERSISTING UNTIL THE DOOR FALLS DOWN. ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD, IF YOU KNOCK, IT WILL COME TO PASS. THIS IS THE MEANING OF ACTIVE PRAYER. 2 Timothy 3:17 - "That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." We as kings and priests in God's kingdom are the anointed ones, the sons and daughters of fresh oil, endued with gifts of power, strength, and grace to enable us to accomplish the spiritual WORK we're called to (God's PURPOSE for our life). "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." - James 2:24 Jesus is not looking at our intentions, wishes, or knowledge of what is right. He is looking at our works! Are we allowing the grace of God to produce holy living and advance His Kingdom in our lives, or have we received the grace of God in vain? Affirmations: I CONFESS AND MEDITATE ON GOD'S WORD DAY BY DAY. THAT WORD DECKS ME OUT - EQUIPPING, OUTFITTING, AND FURNISHING ME WITH ALL THE SPIRITUAL GEAR I NEED TO TAKE THE ADVENTUROUS TRIP GOD HAS PLANNED FOR MY LIFE. WITH GOD'S WORD FITTED TIGHTLY IN PLACE, I AM READY TO SET SAIL AND FOLLOW WHEREVER THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS! I DECLARE THIS BY FAITH IN JESUS' NAME! Song of Solomon 2:13 - "The fig tree has put forth her green figs, and the flowering vines give a pleasant fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come." COME OUT OF YOURSELF TO ENTER THIS LAND! HE WHO OWNS THE LAND PROMISES THE LAND TO ALL. THE PURCHASE WAS MADE WITH HIS BLOOD AND HE EARNESTLY INVITES ALL TO ENTER INTO IT. THE BRIDEGROOM (JESUS) FURNISHES YOU WITH ALL THE MEANS OF DOING SO. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  5. Psalm 1:3 - "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Water is used as a symbol of the word of God. The tree is "planted by streams of water." It is healthy and yields fruit because it is near the water and can draw the water by its roots. Observation: IN THE SAME WAY I AM CONNECTED TO THE WORD OF GOD SO IT CAN FLOW CONTINUOUSLY INTO MY LIFE -- THEN I WILL BEAR MY FRUIT IN ITS SEASON. Revelation 2:6 - "But you have this in your favor; You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate." THE DOCTRINE OF THE NICOLAITANS IS COMPROMISE WITH THE WORLD. Affirmations: I CONFESS THAT I AM FREE FROM THE WORLD! I DO NOT WALK IN COMPROMISE! AS A RESULT OF MY FIRM DETERMINATION TO WALK WITH GOD, I HAVE POWER OVER SIN, POWER OVER SATAN, AND POWER WHEN I PRAY. I AM CONFIDENT THAT HIS PRESENCE IN MY LIFE IS GETTING STRONGER TOO! Song of Solomon 2:8 - "The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills." YOU HEAR AND RECOGNIZE HIS VOICE AT ONCE. THE BRIDEGROOM (JESUS) BOTH EMBRACES YOU AND DWELLS WITHIN YOU. HE DOES NOT MERELY WALK UPON THE HILLS (WHICH ARE THE MORE EXTERNAL PARTS OF YOUR SOUL), BUT UPON THE MOUNTAINS (THE DEEPEST PART OF YOUR SPIRIT). YOU ARE IN UNION WITH GOD WHICH DEEPLY CHANGES YOU WITHIN. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  6. John 15:5 - "I am the vine; you are the branches......apart from Me you can do nothing." We were born to consult God to find out His purpose for our lives so that we can discover our vision. Revelation 1:8 - "I am the Alpha and the Omega." God is not only the Author of our vision but also our continuing Support as we progress toward its fulfillment. Prayer is what keeps us connected to the Vision-Giver. Prayer is where we receive the ability to continue the fight. Isaiah 40:31 - "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." When you have been pressed, criticized, and opposed, you can become weak in faith. When people attack your dream, you go to God. You don't try to explain and give an answer for everything because you can't explain anything to critics. Their motives are already contaminated, and they'll use your words against you. Through prayer, God encourages us to get back out in the fight of faith. Psalm 27:1 - "The Lord is my light and my salvation - who shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?" Affirmations: SINCE I STAY CONNECTED TO GOD FOR THE RENEWAL OF MY PURPOSE, FAITH, AND STRENGTH - I WILL BE ABLE TO PERSEVERE TO VICTORY. I BASE MY PRAYERS ON GOD'S WORD TO BRING ME THROUGH DIFFICULTIES AND GIVE ME THE VICTORY THAT IS MINE. I STAY IN TOUCH WITH GOD SO THAT I AM NOURISHED IN BOTH LIFE AND VISION. "But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD's victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!" - 2 Chronicles 20:17 God is the God of the breakthrough, but He uses our hands if you do your part, He will do His. Breakthrough happens when we take the first offensive step against the barriers in our life. Breakthrough happens when we say, "I m going to trust that God is going to supernaturally do the impossible." There is no progress without resistance: There is a spiritual battle over your breakthrough. We can only win the battle in the spirit. Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared to believe that something inside of them was superior to their circumstances. His name is Jesus. The voice of God is the master key to your supernatural breakthrough. Hear it and speak it. Agree with the decree. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  7. Philippians 3:7-9 -- "But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him." OBSERVATION: At some point I have to cease being a spiritual encyclopedia (That is, collecting more facts, opinions, illustrations and interpretations, and then presenting them as my faith). I make a quality decision today to turn myself over to God, submit to His training and breaking so that He can discard all that hinders me from seeing Christ as He is.....In God's eyes. My only hope for salvation from lesser things is Christ.....a greater Christ than the one I have been content with until now. Hebrews 1:2,3 -- "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom He made the worlds. Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." 1 Corinthians 4:20 - "For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power." We are called to be forerunners and messengers of the coming kingdom. The power of our message will be directly related to the power of the life that is in us. Our goal is to live and reveal the power of the life that is in Christ Jesus. Our life and character should be so different and powerful in Christlikeness, that we stand out because of them. Not only are we a priesthood, we are a "royal" priesthood. Christians are the true royalty on earth. Affirmations: THE POWER THAT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO TESTIFY OF THE COMING KINGDOM IS THE POWER OF LIFE. THIS LIFE IS INFINITELY MORE PRECIOUS THAN ANYTHING I COULD EVER POSSESS ON THIS EARTH. MY IDENTITY IS TRULY IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND MY PRIESTLY CALLING TO MINISTER AND INTERCEDE FOR OTHERS ON A DAILY BASIS. Psalm 115:8 - "Those who make them (idols) will become like them, everyone who trusts in them." THE ONLY REASON WE TOLERATE DEAD IDOLS IS BECAUSE, WHILE THEY CANNOT HELP US, NEITHER CAN THEY HARM US NOR CONVICT US OF SIN. THE CONSEQUENCES OF HARBORING IDOLS IS THAT WE BECOME LIKE THEM. SIN CAN BECOME AN IDOL -- A FALSE GOD THAT DEMANDS OUR OBEDIENCE. SIDE BY SIDE WITH SIN IS THE IDOL OF FALSE KNOWLEDGE. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  8. Today we set our hearts and focus on the presence of the Lord and His NOW word that brings divine impartation that will enable us to flourish into a season of great fruitfulness for the glory of the Lord. John 15:8 - "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples." Basking in His presence and power, love takes hold more deeply, joy springs forth like a river, peace is established by the Prince of Peace, and we are empowered to live above our natural ability. Galatians 5:25 - "Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives." NLT We are enabled to live in the Spirit and by the Spirit—cultivating, nurturing, and developing His nature and attributes from glory to glory. In His presence, His gifts and the fruit of His Spirit are continually increasing and flowing with rivers of His goodness that provide all we need for life and godliness. His presence is also a place of genuine hunger for the Word of God, hunger for fresh bread from the Word every day. There the Word comes alive and mysteries are revealed as the Word becomes like fire in the bones. Within us arises a holy boldness to decree the Word of God to shift the unseen realm and break down every barrier of the enemy with the power of the Word. 1 Thessalonians 1:5 - "for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction;" QUESTION TO ASK OURSELVES: Are we are about to see increase—increase of His ability that releases us to be all we are to be and to accomplish all He purposes for us to accomplish? Ephesians 3:16 - "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;" Your future comes from God’s possibilities and from His potential, not the world’s, not your own. His potential and all of His promises of possibility flow through the Holy Spirit into you, and He will strengthen you with His might to accomplish those things, to be who you are called to be, to do what you are called to do (God'sPURPOSE for your life), and to have what you are promised to have. The Holy Spirit desires us to live every day in the fullness of the Lord, by seeing above and beyond what we can do, and He desires for Jesus to receive glory and honor through His great power that works in us and through us. This is the essence of what Paul writes about inEphesians 3:20–21: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  9. Psalm 51:16,17 - "For Thou dost not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; Thou art not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise." FAITH'S NATURE IS TO POSSESS THE PROMISES OF GOD. I CANNOT ADVANCE SPIRITUALLY WITHOUT BOTH FAITH AND HUMILITY. INDEED, FAITH WITHOUT HUMILITY INEVITABLY BECOMES PRESUMPTION, WHILE HUMILITY WITHOUT FAITH NEVER ASCENDS ABOVE OPPRESSION. Hebrews 11:6 - "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." John 15:16 - Jesus said, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last." Ask the Lord to come into your vineyard. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY

  11. 1. What is the pivot point of all Christianity? Answer: Jesus' substitution and our identification with it. Jesus was made to be sin for us. He never committed sin but he became the nature of sin. To the extent that I realize that Jesus was made to be sin, that is how much I will see myself as the righteousness of God in Him. "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21 "He died for all, so that they who live might no longer liver for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." - 2 Corinthians 5:15 "I am crucified, with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20 2. What comes as a result of your first seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness? Answer: God loves me with the same love that He loves Jesus. I have as much right to expect God to move on my behalf as I would expect Him to respond to Jesus. "When that day comes you will not ask me for anything. I tell you the truth; my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." - John 16:23 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he willl do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father." - John 14:12 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." - John 15:5 3. Why was David victorious against Goliath? Answer: He saw God on his side. He knew he was in right standing with God and God was for him. "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?" - Riomans 8:31 "But in all these things we over-whelmingly conquer through Him who loved us." - Romans 8:37 "For you have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High your dwelling place. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways." - Psalm 91:9,11 4. What is the effect of righteousness? Answer: Quietness and assurance. "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul." - Psalm 23:1-3 "To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in Holiness and righteousness before Him all our days." - Luke 1:74,75 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." - Philippians 1:6,11 5. When is it that nothing can prevail against you? Answer: When I can be confident of God's willingness to use His power in my behalf because of my right standing with Him. I have no need to fear what Satan or man can do to me. "For everyone born of God, has overcome the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." - 1 John 5:4 "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth." - 1 John 2:20 "But the Lord is faithful and will give you strength and will protect you from the Evil One." - 2 Thessalonians 3:3 INTO ACTION: Affirm and meditate on the indicated scriptures several times daily until the renewing of your mind is made real to your spirit. AFFIRMATIONS: Since God is for me, who can sucessfully come against me? (Romans 8:31) I am more than a conquerer since nothing can separate me from the love of Christ. (Romans 8:37,39) I am sincere and without offence, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.(Philippians1:10,11) ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  12. Philippians 1:28 - "Don't be afraid of your enemies; always be corageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose, and that you will win because it is God who gives you the victory." Peace is Spirit power. Your peace, your immovable stand upon the Word of God is a sign that you are positioned correctly in perfect submission to the will of God. The very fact that you are not frightened by your adversary is a sign that you have authority over him. Isaiah 26:3 - "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee." PEACE IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF CONFLICT, IT IS THE ABSENCE OF INNER CONFLICT. Romans 8:6 - "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Galatians 5:22 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith" UNDERSTANDING OUR SPECIFIC CALLING Ephesians 1:4 - "He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love." MAN IS CALLED TO REST IN GOD, BUT WE MUST ALSO LABOR WITH GOD. IN THIS LABOR, WE MUST FIND WHAT HE CREATED US TO DO. Man is called to rest in God, but we must also labor with God. In this labor, we must find what He created us to do. God who is so particular and specific knew what He was creating us for before the world was even created. We each have a very specific job to do -- a very specific CALLING. We will never know a true peace and fulfillment in our hearts until we are doing our CALLING in Christ. THE PEACE OF CHRIST IN OUR SPIRIT IS OUR GUIDE Colossians 3:15 - "And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from the Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts to which as members of Christs one body you were also called to live. And be thankful, giving praise to God always." If we are irritated and upset about things in our life it is very hard to receive quiet guidance from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes a certain action is in question; so we let the peace of Christ be our guide. Through the subtle inward witness of the Holy Spirit He guides us to the action we need to take. Revelation 4:6 - "And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal." The source of God's Peace is God Himself. The glass sea is a symbol: there are no ripples, no waves, no anxieties troubling God. The Lord is never worried never in a hurry nor without an answer. The sea around Him is perfectly still and totally calm. All our victories flow out from being seated here with Him. 2 Peter 3:14 - "With this to look forward to, do your utmost to be found at peace with Him, unblemished and above reproach in his sight." CHALLENGED AND CHANGED We want a peace that temporarily comforts and coddles because we do not like to be challenged or changed. The peace that flows into us from the Lord satisfies the soul with full assurance that He is still for us, even as we are being taken through fire -- in which we can be changed into His likeness. 2 Corinthians 3:18 - "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord." Galatians 5:16 - "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh." Affirmations: I AM DEVELOPING MY OWN HUMAN SPIRIT, AND I AM BECOMING MORE SENSITIVE TO THE SPIRIT OF GOD. I HAVE ACCEPTED THE CALL OF GOD TO LEAVE THE LOW LIFE BEHIND, AND I AM FOLLOWING THE SPIRIT OF GOD TO A HIGHER REALM, WHERE I WILL LIVE IN CONTINUAL PEACE, JOY, AND VICTORY. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  13. Hello everyone, Im Chris and I'm currently 22 going on 23. Im in terrible need of advice as I fear I may be making a huge mistake soon, but first I want to tell you about me. I grew up in a Christian home for the most part, but I turned out to be your average rebellious teenager. I hated school, I didn't have many friends, and I was a black sheep to my family. I felt alone and angry at myself and my family, all of which prompted me to leave home and travel to another state on my own, I was 19 when I left. During my journey, I ended up homeless on the streets until a charity group led me to a Gospel Rescue mission where I came to know that Christ saves through faith and not of works. At the time, I felt a deeper understanding and connection with God, something I had never felt before. Also at the time, I made going into the U.S Navy one of my priorities. It was my dream and felt that if I could join, I could finally make my family proud of me and finally make something of myself instead of a homeless bum. After I came to know Christ, I began a new journey first through a bible program they offered. I made new friends in Christ and began to come out of my shell, I was learning new things almost everyday and I was actually happy for the first time in years! In the process I even was reconciled with my family who were actually worried about me. Even so, I kept a narrow vision and pursued the Navy. After graduation, I enrolled in college, did some job traning, and so on in preparation for enlistment. With some setbacks here and there, this process would go on to take over 3 years. And now, I have hit a wall that has prevented me from joining. Because of some medical issues, they made enlisting challenging to the point where I finally gave up on joining. This was in no way God's fault, nothing is, but it was all mine for not applying myself properly as well as my lax and nonchalant nature. I feel devastated. I feel like I've failed. My dream was now broken. I went to my pastor and told him everything. He told me to sit still and wait on the Lord, that all this time I've been seeking my own will instead of His. I agreed and began to earnestly seek the Lord. But I began to lament to the fact that I was still upset about not joining the Navy. I'm not content. My other brothers have told me to simply get a job and work to get an apartment. But this still doesn't suffice. Ive looked back on my life now and seen that I've produced very little, if any, fruit throughout the years compared to others who have gone off to start successful careers and such. I'm not as ignorant as I used to be and do feel that the Lord has used me to lead others to Christ at times, as well as used my testimony about coming off the streets. But I now see that I'm struggling with my faith. I look to my friends who are avid preachers of Christ and smile even through their problems in life. They have joy, something I just no longer have. And it is these things that make me wonder: Did I truly make Christ my personal Savior that day? Is He really the Boss of my life? Was I willing to pick up my cross and follow Him? Am I really His child? I do believe that all things work together for good to them that love Him, that for by grace are you saved through faith and not of yourselves, so no man can boast. Maybe God has used this situation to chastise and discipline me into being more obedient to Him and not to my own will. As the Word of God states "For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receives". If this is scourging then I most certainly am feeling it. But due to my present circumstances, I feel my faith shaking, even after hours of earnest prayer for His will in my life. I can't shake this feeling for the pride of life. I can't shake this feeling of wanting to run off somewhere and starting all over again. I can't shake this voice telling me that He doesn't even know me and that I'm not His, that I'm not even truly born again. I'm so afraid of not being truly saved, and I'm too afraid to really tell the others of what I'm going through, despite their well meaning and prayers. I want to serve God, and I want Him to use me for His Glory. But this whole mess has paralyzed me to the point of hopelessness and depression. I just have no direction in life and I can't effectively share the Gospel in joy. I don't expect an answer that will end all my problems, but I would greatly appreciate anyone's input on this. Thank you very much in advance for your answers.
  14. What should Christians do in adverse circumstances?
  15. A. DEVOTIONAL STUDY (To be used in teaching) Go directly to the Blble and read over a few times the portion to be taught. Then try answering the following questions: 1. What does this portion teach about God the Father...the Son...the Holy Spirit? 2. What does it teach about man? 3. Are there any warnings to heed? 4. Are there any commands to obey? 5. Are there any promises to claim by faith? When completing this exercise, draw some conclusions you can apply to your life or to the lives of those you are teaching. Then read over the teacher's manual or a Bible commentary to see if it agrees, clarifies, expands or qualifies what you have discovered. You will find this process will make the material more your own. You will be able to remember it better and share it with greater confidence. Be sure to give homework assignments -- to give the students introspection and reinforcement. eg. Questions to Ask Myself? Two or three questions that apply to WHO THEY ARE IN CHRIST, limitations they may be putting on their spiritual advancement, and seeking their DESTINY in Christ. The work they do alone in answering these questions will benefit them more than many hours of Sunday School teaching. Also give them several verbal affirmations highlighting their inheritance in Christ which will be from points in the lesson. By verbally affirming their re-created status they will not be as likely to skim over the lesson and eventually forget it. B. TOPIC TECHNIQUE (To be Used Individually) 1. In this Bible study technique you CHOOSE A TOPIC--not a random topic but a topic that you feel the you need further revelation of. Examples of Topics: High Calling Boldness Fruitfullness Sanctification Love Compassion Spiritual Gifts Worship Praise Deliverance Healing Wisdom Humility Discipleship Growth Restoration 2. Pick out several books to study in the New Testament. 3. DEVELOP A CONSCIOUSNESS of the topic by meditation on it and by arousing some eager expectation of revelation to come. 4. As you focus on the topic begin reading the scripture. Write out the passages that have to do with the topic and ask the Holy Spirit for a deeper understanding. 5. At the end of the study session WRITE OUT A LIST OF AFFIRMATIONS that affirm the written out scriptures and carry them with you throughout the day to say out loud and meditate on. 6. Share any revelation you have received with others in the body of Christ. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  16. Isaiah 9:7 - "Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end......" How important is increase to God? Jesus once cursed a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season (Mark 11:13-14)! A man in one of His parables was cast into outer darkness for burying his money and not obtaining an increase for his master (Matthew 25:24-30). When the main goal of our faith is keeping us safe from the devil, our faith becomes inferior to what God expects. Jesus had in mind more for us than survival. We are destined to overcome. Every conversion plunders hell. Every miracle destroys the works of the devil. Every God encounter is an Invasion of the Almighty into our desperate condition. This is our joy. Affirmations: I FORGET THE PAST AND REACH FOR THOSE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS CALLED ME. I PRESS TOWARD THE MARK FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS. QUESTIONS TO ASK MYSELF: 1. Do I have an increase or a survival consciousness? What fruit am I bearing today - in season or out of season? 2. What conversion, miracle, or God encounter have I experienced recently?
