  1. As I write this, we have been reading the Book of Luke. I thought it might interest some of you, to see what it was like, if you were a protestant of means, able to afford one of those new fangled things called a printed Bible. Some people refer the the King James Bible, as the authorized version. It was an authorized version, authorized by the King, and the translation was completed in 1611. This authorization was for the Church of England. While the Church of England was not Roman Catholic, neither was it properly protestant church. The King James Version, was commissioned, in part, to counteract the Bible popular with protestants, to help make it easier to maintain the religious hierarchy of the Church of England. The protestants were too critical of the Church of England for the Kinds tastes, so a new version was commissioned for use in the churches of the Church of England. Basically, the Church of England, was protesting the protestants. While the KJV is an "authorized version" it was the third authorize version. Prior to it, was the Bishops Bible, of 1568, and before that, was the Great Bible, of 1535. The King James version, as was said, is AN authorized version. It was not given the title of "The Authorized Version", until 1814. Lest you get the impression, that I am anti King James Version, I am not. I love the King James Version, and it has been EXTREMELY important in church history. It is a good version. There was a faction of the Church of England, known as the Puritans. They were not called the Puritans, because they were so pure and holy, though that is how many have come to think of that term. The Puritans, were about purging or purefying the church, not just of the abuses of the Roman Catholic Church, but also from issues of having a church, run by a monarch. The Puritans believed that the Church of England, was still too "Catholic" in it's operation. The puritans believed in the priesthood of all believers, not an appointed caste of Popes and Bishops and the like. This did not earn them the admiration of Kings and Popes, so they were persecuted and exiled. They were protestants, in most senses of the word. The Bible of choice, among the Puritans, was the Geneva Bible. The Geneva Bible, was the first Bible to have chapter and verse numbers, and it was translated in 1560. It was carried on the Mayflower to America, and it was the most popular English Bible, during the period of the Protestant Reformation. Why this abbreviated history lesson on early English Bible versions? I wanted you to see how easy you have it. Bibles were not often in the hands of common people. The belief of the reformers, that the Bible should be available to all, and the invention of the printing press, was the beginning of the process that lead to mass Bible access. If you were a well off Protestant, over 400 years ago, what would you have seen? Here is page of a Bible (the Geneva Bible), that was printed in English, before the King James Version.
  2. Hello Saints! I haven't made a post in a while so here we are. Today in my personal time with Yeshua, a message came to me. I was reading Psalms (Psalms 19) and I didn't quite understand it. But the more I read, the more I realized that God was telling me to never get lazy and stop reading his Word, because the answers to the things I'm confused about may be in the next verse. (Praise you Abba.) So I hope you can understand where I come from. Psalm 19 King James Version (KJV) 19 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. I understood the part about the heavens declaring the glory of God, and the firmament his handywork. As I ed further, in verse two, it's basically a simpler version of the first verse. Consider the Heavens Day, and the Firmament night. Consider his glory, speech, and his handywork, knowledge. The point of this post is to encourage you to keep reading, and don't get lazy. Here are some reasons why; 1.) Important things like in the scriptures that could help you fight the enemy. 2.) You may be confused, and the next verse may help you understand the text better. 3.) God is the Word. So God is constantly speaking to you in the Word, or through the word. 4.) Almost all to today's problems are at your fingertips. Final note: I have a pet peeve that says "Laziness gets you nowhere." And it's true, it does. Prayer: Thank you Yeshua, for allowing me to share this with your people. I pray that it touches them and you give them strength to keep reading and to endure the attacks of the enemy. I speak healing, restoration, and comfort over your people Lord. You have the power to condemn and bring laziness to it's knees. I cast it out of the minds and bodies of your people Daddy. Dad, I ask that your will be done. Thank you again, and again, and again, In Yeshua's MIGHTY name. Amen.
  3. When I first was born-again and received knowledge that I was a son of God and that I was ALWAYS a son of God I used to believe just as the majority of those in Christendom that the kingdom of God was an actual kingdom with a king, (with a realm or location, with subjects, a royal court, a castle or mansion, etc.), all the fixings of what we all commonly know in this earth as a kingdom. But I was wrong. We were wrong. Christendom was wrong and still is. Matthew 12:28 (KJV) 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Luke 11:20 (KJV) 20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. Question: What is Jesus Christ doing? Answer: Jesus Christ is casting out 'devils.' Jesus Christ is, in effect, saying that He is the kingdom of God. A kingdom OF GOD that has come 'unto you.' This 'kingdom' is not the same as the kingdom of heaven. This kingdom (of heaven) does have a king, a realm, a court, subject, etc. Luke 17:20-21 (KJV) 20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. The apostle Paul adds to this truth when he says: Romans 14:17 (KJV) 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. The kingdom of God is Christ. Christ is within 'you.' Christ is righteousness, peace, and joy... all the deific attributes of Christ Himself. And flesh has inherited Christ as Promised by God to His people Israel, and spiritual Israel. And this is our inheritance as named souls that were contemplated by God in Trinity in His Mind BEFORE He created heaven earth and man. His Elect people were written in a 'book' of life of the lamb slain from [BEFORE] the foundation (creation) of the world (Rev. 13:8). 1 Corinthians 15:50 (KJV) 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. The unsaved cannot inherit the kingdom of God who is Christ: John 14:17 (KJV) 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. The unsaved who are not named in the book of life of the lamb slain... a.k.a., the world, CANNOT RECEIVE Christ. No way, no how. So, there are two groups of people on the planet, always has been: those in Covenant with God, and those not in Covenant with God. Righteousness = The Father Peace = the Son, the Prince of Peace Joy = the Holy Spirit. Go figure.
  4. Reasons why I could personally never chose to be Catholic: Baptist prospective 1st of all, comparing spiritual things with spiritual, I feel that as old as the Roman Catholic Church is; it still has not worked out it's kinks. - 1 Corinthians 2:13 (KJV Bible) I feel like if I'm going to partake congregationally to worship, it is a absolute must that i am 100% comfortable with the Church and its Doctrines, all elements combined. - Galatians 1:6-7 (of Galatians 1:1-12) (KJV Bible) It is well known most Baptist have issues with Catholicism because of the Catholic claim of: transubstantiation. Within the ritual of a catholic mass, the pope holds a piece of bread, turns his back, and while his back is turned. Proclaims that it "literally" turns into the physical flesh of Christ. 3rdly, Christ is the head of the Church, There is absolutely no need for a Pope. It is opposite of scriptural and from what Iv heard, Pagan derived. - 1 Corinthians 11:3 (KJV Bible) God Bless you, I have large hopes that you find a profitable King James Version Only proud and preaching Church near you & find the Bible way to Heaven.
  5. How muslim friend, OneGodBeliever believes the Bible has been corrupted. He states: "You said bible isn't corrupted. Shall we discuss that? I say its clearly is with verses & whole books removed and also contradictions!" So, lets have a friendly, loving, open discussion on this
  6. A KING JAMES VERSION SERMON: - Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) - Psalm 12:6-7 (KJV) Notice the word "preserve", meaning God's word is already present in our times. - Galatians 1:6-7 (of 1:1-12) (KJV) Notice "of Christ", meaning sadly there are trying Christians attracted by the overwhelming affection of Christ, only to be misled by a Gospel that is not "of Christ" - 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 (KJV) Scriptural changes differing in meaning broadly spread through the many so called, "modern English Bible Translations" published since the King James Version Bible (KJV) or its birth in 1611 as the Authorized Version (AV). Here is our History: The Authorized Version: Translated from the Textus Receptus and finished in 1611; Through God's will a breakthrough for the Protestant Reformation, for Christian believers with beliefs protestant to the Roman Catholic Church; Later revised as the King James Version Bible. The MOST respected Bible, standing out as a strong spiritual asset. The one and only true word of God (in the English Language). The Holy Bible. - Proverbs 30:5-6 (KJV) Pre 1611 (Old Testament): Was known to be in the Hebrew Language. Pre 1611 (New Testament): Before year 1611, The New Testament was present on earth in the Greek language; in texts known as the Textus Receptus, Yet, not yet translated into the English Language. ............................................................................................. Pre 1611 English Bible translations (To solve confusion): These books were not known to be as spiritually profitable, but are very evident that the puritan reformer group in their day were not happy with Catholicism and the Roman Catholic Church, desperate and determined for liberty in faith.
  7. Seven Tests to Determine the True New Testament Text (Antiquity, Number, Variety, Continuity, Credibility, Context, Internal Evidence) Dean Burgon gives these seven tests to indicate which readings are correct. 1. Antiquity. We may allow only those witnesses who 'spoke' before 400 AD. These are: i) Over 70 Church Fathers. iii) Early Papyri. ii) Aleph, B, and some Uncials. iv) Earliest Versions. For example: Ever since 1881, ‘vinegar’ in Matthew 27:34 has been despised by Westcott and Hort and others as a ‘late Byzantine’ reading. ‘They gave him vinegar...’ Question: What is the verdict of antiquity? Answer: (a) For "wine": Aleph, B, Latin, Coptic versions, Apocryphal Acts, Gospel of Nicodemus, Marcarius Magnes. (7 witnesses) eg: NIV, GNB, RSV, NWT. (b) For "vinegar": Gospel of Peter, Acta Philippi, Barnabas, Irenaeus, Tertullian, Celsus,Origen, pseudo-Tatian, Athanaseus, Eusebius of Emesa, Theodore of Heraclea, Didymus, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory of Nazianzus, Ephraem Syrus, Lactantius, Titus of Bostra, Syriac version. (18 witnesses). "Vinegar", the KJV reading has much more support. 2. Number of Witnesses. A reading found in a majority of independent witnesses, should be the original. The fewer witnesses, the less likely it is to be genuine; The more witnesses, the more likely it is to be the original reading; Unanimous witnesses, means it is certainly the original reading. 3. Variety of Witnesses, is the agreement of independent witnesses. Variety means that the reading is found in: i) many geographical areas, and by ii) different kinds of witnesses - eg: Greek manuscripts, Versions, Fathers, Lectionaries. A good variety of witnesses are from: different countries, speaking different languages, who never met, and who never colluded. This is not true of Vaticanus (B) and Sinaiticus. The vast majority of uncials and cursives have KJV type readings and have good variety: i) They cover at least 1000 years (350-1550 AD). ii) Belong to so many countries such as Greece, Constantinople, Asia Minor, Palestine, iii) Exhibit so many strange characteristics and peculiar sympathies. Variety helps us to evaluate the independence of witnesses. If the witnesses which share a common reading come from only one area, such as Egypt, then their independence is doubted. It is quite unreasonable that an original reading should survive in only one location. Witnesses supporting a reading in one limited area cannot be the original, as is the case with Aleph, B, and some papyri. To illustrate: Many of the most ancient manuscripts come from Egypt. This is due to the hot, dry climate of Egypt favouring manuscript preservation more than the wet Mediterranean climate. Moisture is bad for manuscripts. The Egyptian texts are not an exact representation of texts in other parts of the world. To sample the flora and fauna of Egypt does not guarantee to be the same flora and fauna of Greece, Turkey or Italy, etc. Variety + Number = Validity. Variety means independence of witnesses. Lack of variety (as is the case for Aleph, B, papyri of Egypt) imply dependence. This is a strong reason to reject modern versions based on Egyptian manuscripts. Burgon said, ‘Generally, the testimony of 2, 4, 6 or more witnesses from many regions, is far weightier than the same number of witnesses from one locality, between which there probably exists some collusion or sympathy’. Hence, many witnesses only from Egypt is a weak case for NIV. 4. Continuity. A reading to be a serious candidate for the original, should be found throughout the ages of transmission, from beginning to end. A reading is invented if it died out in the 5th century, or if it is not found before the 12th century. Where a reading has variety (or agreement of independent witnesses), it almost always has continuity over time. The majority of manuscripts are independent witnesses, and must be counted. Westcott and Hort reject this absolutely, accounting for the Majority text by an assumed Lucian recension or revision of the New Testament text around 300 AD. Since there is no evidence that this Lucian recension ever happened, continuity is valid. Hence, number, variety and continuity, form a three-strand rope of textual criticism that is not easily broken. These 3 arguments strongly oppose B, Aleph, NIV and modern versions. 5. Credibility of Witnesses or weight, judged by the manuscripts ‘own performance’. If manuscripts go wrong continually, their character and credibility must be low. The oldest manuscripts can be objectively, statistically shown to be habitually wrong, witnesses of very low character, and with many mistakes. Their credibility is near zero. If you read Sir Herman Hoskier's book Codex B and its Allies carefully, you will lose all respect for B, Aleph, etc and modern versions based on them. Since modern Greek critical texts are based on B, Aleph, some papyri, etc, it is clear that modern scholars have severely ignored 'credibility of witnesses' as an objective criterion. If considered seriously, 'credibility' will overthrow the modern text type and the NIV. 6. Context is the behaviour (degree of corruption) of a manuscript in the immediate vicinity of the problem. If in a certain manuscript, the context is clearly in a very corrupt state, then it is self-evident that this manuscript has very low credibility. For example, Westcott and Hort in Luke 22-24, made 16 omissions from the Received Text based solely on Codex D. In Luke 22:19,20; 24:3,6,9,12,36,40,52 W&H's sole authority for changing the Textus Receptus was a single Greek Codex Beza (D), the most depraved of all. Codex D in Luke 22,23,24 omits 354 words, adds 173 words, substitutes 146 words, transposes 243 words, totalling 916 changes. In 8 places they omitted material from the Bible on the sole authority of D (Burgon, p.77,78). With the scribe on a wild omitting spree, how can any value be given to Codex D here, much less prefer it above the united voice of every other witness? Modern scholars and versions have completely ignored this Context test 7. Internal Evidence, concerns readings which are grammatically, logically, geographically, or scientifically impossible, such as in Luke 19:37; 23:45 (impossible 3 hour eclipse of the sun at full moon in Aleph, B, and RV); 24:13; Mark 6:22; II Corinthians 3:3. Conclusion: So then, how are we to identify the original wording? 1. We must gather the evidence: Greek manuscripts, Lectionaries, Fathers, and Versions. 2. We must evaluate the evidence to see which readings enjoy the earliest, widest, most numerous, most credible, and most varied attestation. 3. The independent, credible witnesses must then be counted. 4. This is how we arrive at the Received Text of the KJV.

  9. To secure our attention and place us on the pathway God desires, there are strategies that He employs that are very effective. As much as we are not to be ignorant of satan's devices (2 Cor. 2:11), we must be even more knowledgeable of the ways of the Lord (Ps. 25:4). Knowing God's ways will result in us experiencing His mighty acts (Psalms 103:7). Three ways God works to move us in a new direction: 1. DISRUPTION OF OUR PLANS When stuck at an impasse, it is a natural tendency to return to familiar surroundings. We see this in the lives of the disciples after Jesus' death. They went back to fishing even though they had clearly been mandated to forsake their vocation and follow Christ (see Luke 5:10-11; John 21:3). Because they were commercial fishermen, there may even have been economic motives behind their actions. Nevertheless, we see clearly that there was no lasting provision and no permanent peace in returning to past environments. When God leads us out of a place of familiarity and the way forward is blocked, what is the solution? There are some breakthroughs reserved for us that can only be accessed through prayer. We must seek God until we receive a clear answer from Heaven. Whether it was Paul's night vision of the man in Macedonia summoning him, or the voice of Jesus speaking to the disciples on the seashore in Galilee, the New Testament Christians received clear direction from the Spirit and were able to regain momentum and experience breakthrough. 2. DISSIPATION OF RESOURCES Just as Elijah had foretold, the word of the Lord came to pass. "And there was a severe famine in Samaria ..." (1 Kings 18:2). During the famine, God looked after Elijah. He gave him specific instruction relative to how he would be sustained. "Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 'Get away from here and turn eastward and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.' So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook" (1 Kings 17:2-6). Cherith which means "place of covenant," was where the Lord demonstrated His faithfulness in taking care of Elijah. However, the day would come when the brook would run dry and the birds would no longer fly (see 1 Kings 17:7). Although Elijah had come to depend on such provision, God seemed to have no compunction at all in cutting off these resources. Has Your Brook Dried Up? Have you experienced something similar? Your streams of resource have dried up. During such a time, trust that the Lord will soon speak to you like He did to Elijah. "Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 'Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you'" (1 Kings 17:8-9). You will see that the place where He leads you will be the place where He feeds you. Where the Lord guides, He provides! 3. DISSOLUTION OF RELATIONSHIPS Here is a powerful truth to embrace when a key connection you value has dissolved for no apparent legitimate reason: The Lord is turning the hearts of men in the direction He desires (Prov. 21:1) and is, in fact, making it easier for you to let go and move forward into your next assignment. Therefore, do not take the matter personally nor become bitter with people as though they are rejecting you. TRUSTING IN GOD'S GOOD GUIDANCE Sometimes Father God's ways do not make sense to us. Scripture even attests to this reality."For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:9). No matter how it may appear on the surface, He is actively involved in the affairs of our lives. On occasion, He may even interrupt our plans resulting in us experiencing a sense of anxiety due to a perceived loss of control. However, as uncomfortable as we may become, we must trust that He is leading us along the best pathway for our lives. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye on you" (Psalms 32:8). ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY http://afministry.ning.com
  10. John 5:17,19-20 - "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I, too, am working. I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees His Father doing, because whatever the father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does." Worship is more than just music or art; it's a lifestyle (Romans 12:1). We need to live like Jesus did, open our eyes and see what the Father is doing, and then do it. Not just to see the need, but also to meet the need. Anyone can be a THERMOMETER and just gauge the spiritual temperature, but we're called to be THERMOSTATS and to change the spiritual temperature! We're not called to just point out sickness, poverty, and sin; we're called to change those ashes into beauty. After all, it's Christ in us that is the hope of glory! Observation:WHAT JESUS ACCOMPLISHED ON EARTH, HE ACCOMPLISHED IN HIS HUMANITY, NOT HIS DIVINITY. OTHERWISE, HE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MAN'S REPRESENTATIVE AND SUBSTITUTE. HE RELIED ON THE GRACE AND SPIRIT OF GOD. I CAN DO THE SAME. AFFIRMATIONS:I arise and walk in dominion power, and lay a hold of the promises of God. The Holy Spirit who lives within me is greater than the spirit that is at work in the world (1 John 4:4). God is calling for me to arise and take a strong stand against the works of darkness (Jude 1-4). I am to take the land. Each day I seek to draw ever nearer to Christ, seeking to yield, ever deeper, my will to His will. (2 Corinthians 3:18) Hebrews 12:29 - "For our God is a consuming fire". OBSERVATION: If I am truly getting closer to Him, the fire in my life will be growing. Song of Solomon 2:1,2 - "I am the flower of the field and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters." YOU ARE LIKE A PURE AND PLEASANT LILY AND A SWEET FRAGRANCE BEFORE HIM (JESUS). THERE ARE OTHER DAUGHTERS, HOWEVER, WHO ARE NOT YET PLIABLE AND SUBMITTED TO HIS SPIRIT. THEY ARE LIKE A DEEP, IMPENETRABLE THICKET OF THORNS - THOSE WHO ARE SELF-POSSESSED AND STILL TAKEN UP WITH THEIR OWN WILL. THE LILY, HOWEVER, PERFECTLY PRESERVES ITS PURITY AND ITS PERFUME, EVEN WHEN SURROUNDED BY THORNS. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  11. Psalm 104: 1,4,30 - "Bless the Lord, O my soul, O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty. Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire. Thou sendest forth thy Spirit." Prayer: LORD JESUS, YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WALKS SILENTLY IN THE INNERMOST SANCTUARY OF MY SOUL. SO CAREFULLY YOU WEAVE YOURSELF INTO THE FIBERS OF MY BEING. TOUCH ME WITH YOUR CLEANSING, RENEWING FIRE. AFFIRMATIONS: I set myself on God’s altar today to allow myself to be consumed by His fire of purging and His fire of love. I refuse to allow the move of God in me to be miscarried. "You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's signet ring; for whatever is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's signet ring no one can revoke." - Esther 8:8 Jesus became a curse for us, so we don't have to live under a curse. He was the master of divine reversal. All He did demonstrated God's power to turn death to life, sickness to health, lackto blessing, etc. We have been given the power to act as intercessors -- those called to get in the way of the enemy's plan. We need to decree our freedom and our blessing and extend that freedom to others by reversing the curses of darkness. We need to write a new decree! The enemy has declared things over our personal lives, over the Church today and over our nations. He is filling the airwaves in the spirit realm and in the natural realm with decrees of fear, death, defeat, destruction, and intimidation. This is an Esther moment! We must make a decree in prayer. Write it down. Let it be your confession. We must decree God's Word in truth knowing the penetrating power of truth can make others free. We must change our language to speak what God is declaring. We must allow our prophetic words to be in our mouths as decrees. Say what God says! Job 22:28 says, "You shall decree a thing and it shall be established for you, so light will shine upon your way."In this time of great darkness in the earth, the people of God need to flood the atmosphere with decrees that bring life and light which will drive out death and darkness. Galatians 5:22,23 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Peace is Spirit power. Your peace, your immovable stand upon the Word of God is a sign that you are positioned correctly in perfect submission to the will of God. The very fact that you are not frightened by your adversary is a sign that you have authority over him. Prayer: LORD, THANK YOU FOR SOWING YOUR SPIRIT AND WORD INTO MY LIFE. THANK YOU FOR THE LIFE OF GOD THAT IS FLOWING UP FROM MY SPIRIT RIGHT NOW, PRODUCING THE LIFE AND THE NATURE OF JESUS CHRIST IN ME! ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  12. Luke 18:1 - "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." Since He has given humanity authority over the earth, He requires the permission or authorization of mankind in order to act on the earth. This is why, when we stop praying, we allow God's purposes for the world to be hindered. Matthew 16:19 - "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven ; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." AFFIRMATIONS: I bind and cast out those things that are unfruitful and I loose the blessings of God in my life through the confession of His word. (Matthew 16:19) Since I live vitally united to Jesus and his words continue to live in my heart, I ask whatever I will, and it shall be done for me. (John 15:7) I continually ask, seek, and knock concerning the things God has prepared for me because Jesus says I will receive, find, and it will be opened for me. (Matthew 7:7,8) "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14 The breath of God, in its infinite capacity, is breathing and moving through every grave that holds dead dreams; through the graves of hope deferred; through everything that has tangled your faith and paralyzed your movement. He who was and is, and is to come is speaking life into the make-up of who you are, confounding the frequency of the sound of every voice that speaks against your destiny and calling in Christ. God will heal your vision in the midst of the impossibility that He turns intopossibility. The loss and wilderness you have walked through these past years will turn into a gateway of hope. He will make your vision whole in His love, and your heart will overflow with life and with a testimony that will resound all around you. Your Redeemer lives! 2 Peter 3:14 - "With this to look forward to, do your utmost to be found at peace with Him, unblemished and above reproach in his sight." Observation: WE WANT A PEACE THAT TEMPORARILY COMFORTS AND CODDLES BECAUSE WE DO NOT LIKE TO BE CHALLENGED OR CHANGED. THE PEACE THAT FLOWS INTO US FROM THE LORD SATISFIES THE SOUL WITH FULL ASSURANCE THAT HE IS STILL FOR US, EVEN AS WE ARE BEING TAKEN THROUGH FIRE - IN WHICH WE CAN BE CHANGED INTO HIS LIKENESS. 2 Corinthians 3:18 - "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord." ALBERT FINCH MINISTRYhttp://afministry.ning.com
  13. Genesis 1:2 - "The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." Observation: AS I MEET WITH GOD HE COMES LIVING AND BREATHING THROUGH THE SCRIPTURES INTO MY HEART. AT THAT MOMENT THE VERY SAME SPIRIT THAT HOVERED OVER CREATION, IN THE BEGINNING, IS HOVERING OVER ME, TRANSFORMING ME INTO THE IMAGE OF CHRIST THROUGH THE WORD. THAT LIVING, BREATHING WORD IS GOD! 2 Corinthians 3:18 - "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." Matthew 14:27 - "But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."' Christ's assurance, "It is I", literally translated reads, "I Am" - the eternal designation of God. While Jesus indeed comes to the aid of His disciples, He also reveals Himself transcendent of time's barriers. As such, He proclaims His availability to all His disciples. He is God with us, even to the end of the age! AFFIRMATIONS: Since I am in Jesus Christ all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in me. (Col. 2:9,10) God has put eternity in my heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) The Lord is like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I cannot contain it any longer. (Jer.20:9) Matthew 7:25 - "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." Observation:I CANNOT BUILD MY HOUSE "IN A STORM". MY HOUSE MUST BE BUILT DAY BY DAY, BEFOREHAND, BY DIGGING DEEP AND BUILDING ON THE ROCK OF HEARING AND OBEYING THE WORDS OF CHRIST. 14. As we are called to step out into areas that are beyond our comfort zone, we may feel as if we are floundering for a season. Yet God has called us to walk in His peace and JOY and to BRING HIS KINGDOM TO EARTH in each situation. We could easily fall into discouragement if we do not stand in God's encouragement. And part of the way He fills and refreshes us is through His spirit of JOY. Joy in the midst of heavy world situations. Joy in the midst of tragic circumstances. Joy in the midst of serious situations and huge challenges. WE CAN BE A SIGN AND A WONDER We can be a sign and a wonder to those around us as we walk in His SUPERNATURAL JOY. And when the essence of this joy touches other lives, people will be drawn to know the source of our joy, Jesus Himself. We need to EXPERIENCE THIS PLACE WHERE GOD CAN INVADE OUR SOULS and impart doses of His supernatural joy much more often than we currently do. Remember that when Paul teaches on the fruit of the Spirit, joy comes second in the list! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is...JOY! PERSONAL APPLICATION SOAK IN HIS PRESENCE. Refresh yourself in Him. FOCUS ON JESUS AND HIS LOVE TOWARDS YOU, and let Him remind you of the many blessings that He brings to your life. As you set your mind on things above, you will receive your fill-up of joy. Walking in supernatural peace is definitely a demonstration of the Kingdom of God. We must be challenged to walk in supernatural joy, to PRESS-IN TO THE SPIRIT, find His joy there, and then walk in it, no matter what situation we find ourselves in. The message of "Good tidings of great joy" is not for the Christmas season only. Because of Him, we can walk in great joy--"Joy unspeakable and full of glory" right here and right now. "There are river fountains that splash joy, cooling God's city, the holy place where the Most High dwells" (Psalms 46:4). Let's tap into that supernatural river of joy! Let's get swallowed up in a spirit of joy. In delighting in the Lord. In rejoicing in His Presence. And in bringing His Kingdom of joy down here on earth as it is in Heaven. SCRIPTURE MEDITATIONS: Psalms 16, Psalms 46, Psalms 37, Romans 14:17, Luke 15:10, Galatians 5:22, Philippians 4 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY http://afministry.ning.com
  15. "Oh, my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart makes a noise in me, that I cannot hold my peace, because you have heard, 'O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.'" Jeremiah 4:19 The Holy Spirit within us wants to use us to properly do battle against the enemy. However, we must remember, "...the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty THROUGH GOD for pulling down of strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:4 We must allow the Holy Spirit the "right of way" to take it over and to direct it. We must turn TO it and not from it. We must not be ashamed of the WEEPING that He desires to cry out through us! "...Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts...." Hebrews 3:7-8 SO WHAT DO WE DO WITH THIS WEEPING? We need to ALLOW the Holy Spirit to cry, to pray through us when this unction comes upon us, and to NOT "shut it down." Additionally, don't worry about the "words" you will pray.... Romans 8:26-27, "...the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God." As we allow the weeping unction of the Holy Spirit to cry out through us, we will be praying for the things for which the Spirit within us is weeping, in the way the Lord wants it prayed about, and in the will of the Lord for the outcome. Romans 8:28, "And (then) we know that all things (will) work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." PRAY IT THROUGH When those tears and/or deep groanings come, LET them! Don't stop it! Be led by the Holy Spirit. And understand that even if you don't have your prayer language, you are still His Sheep, and you can still hear and obey the voice of the Lord, and be directed to pray according to the will of God. In whatever way He desires for you to pray, "pray it through!" Until you have a "release" or a sensing of peace that it has been "taken care of." Don't be concerned about "words!" It may be that you will experience tears and/or groanings alone. Also, we don't need to be embarrassed by tears (ours or others) if they begin to flow. We just need to "let go and let God!" And let's not "fake it" or get loud to get attention. Weeping may very well and most likely occur when we are all alone. Let's just allow the Holy Spirit total access to and through us, to be led by Him, for His purposes to be accomplished when and how He causes that unction to come. It is a time to let the "rain" of the Holy Spirit "reign!" To let Him cry out through us for souls and for mercy! In this time when so many have serious needs, let us heed the voice of the Spirit to "pray it through." Revelation 2:11, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches..." 16. Exodus 16:4 - "Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law or no." God did not give the children of Israel the heavenly manna until they exhausted the flour brought from Egypt. This bread of angels is disagreeable to the palate of anyone who wants to taste human food. Persons feeding on other strange tastes not only become incapable of the Divine Spirit but are not satisfied with God alone but entertain a desire and affection for other things. John 14:6,7 - "Jesus saith unto him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him."' Unless we can be corrected, unless we are seeking God for an unfolding revelation of His son, our so-called "faith" may be, in reality, just a lazy indifference, a deception concerning the things of God. Subconsciously, we may actually want a dead religion so we do not have to change. True faith is freighted with the power of God. Timothy 3:5 - "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."AFFIRMATIONS: I do only those things that I see the Father doing. As I take communion, partaking of the bread and wine, I confirm my oneness with Jesus. I am in Christ Jesus. I walk worthy of the Lord - I am fruitful, and I increase in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord. Each day I seek to draw ever nearer to Christ, seeking to yield, ever deeper, my will to His will. Psalm 145:2 - "Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name forever and ever." WHAT I DO DAILY DETERMINES WHAT I BECOME PERMANENTLY. Proverbs 8:34 - "Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors." ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  17. Revelation 21:5, 6 - "Behold, I make all things new.....It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." The cry from the One who sits on the throne in Revelation 21:5 is about making all things new. It doesn't say He is making "all new things," rather He is "making all things new." The Kingdom message is beginning to prevail in greater ways, because the Kingdom is all about RELATIONSHIP, not about gold streets and mansions. It is about a prepared place with Christ before the Father, even in the present moment. Evangelism is not just the work of a committee at an institutional church. Evangelism is becoming the by-product of a called-out company of the renewed saints who will return to being a "witness" of the Light in the presence of the darkness. A RISK-TAKING COMPANY There is a deeper work of the Spirit that will be an earmark in the coming days. There is a "making new" of the Lord's wineskin, His elect, His "called out company," who, as their Savior did, look out over the fields that are white unto harvest. and see them as distressed and downcast, as sheep without a shepherd. And, like their Master, this renewed company will bemoved with compassion and bring a new level of healing and wholeness to those who cry out for answers, for peace, for hope, and for deliverance! It will take a courageous, risk-taking company of the people that know their God to boldly go out to where the sinners are and speak to them of the One who is already working at some level in their lives, in order to bring them to the knowledge of the truth and the light of the glory of God in the face of the Son of God. RISING OUT OF DEAD THINGS Resurrection is becoming more than a doctrine, it is becoming a way of life. As the consumer-driven culture is losing hope in "things" and asking if there is not more to life than this, a renewed company of the elect are going to be RISING OUT OF DEAD THINGS and pressing to the mark of the prize of their high calling (their DESTINY). 18. The enemy has many Christians trapped in unbelief and self-condemnation. They know what they did was wrong and they hate it, but they cannot unburden themselves of the guilt. Remember, our Redeemer came to proclaim liberty to those who are "prisoners" (see Isaiah 61:1). Is He speaking only of those who are incarcerated in jails? No, His mission is for all of us who are prisoners of our past failures. God wants us to learn from our mistakes, not be held captive to them. Jesus came to deliver and restore those whose dreams lie buried in self-blame. Today God is restoring joy to His people. Many whom the Lord has touched were weighed down – just like you might be – with either moral failure or tragedy. In the very place where our deferred hopes produced heart sickness, Christ is here" to bind up the brokenhearted" (Isaiah 61:1). Where once sorrow and heaviness reigned, He gives a "garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting" (v. 3). No longer will church attendance be a penance for our failures. From now on we shall enter His gates with thanksgiving. Indeed, to every Christian struggling with an unbearable burden, the Lord says, "You are still My Bride." ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY http://afministry.ning.com
  19. Genesis 12:1,4 - "Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him." Abraham may not have known where He was going, but He did know what He was looking for. He left everything to be a part of what God was building. This is also our quest, to be a part of what God is doing (our DESTINY). Mark 9:23 - "Jesus said unto him, 'If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.'" If we choose not to heed the leading of the Spirit and become PROACTIVE in renewing our minds, it is possible that we will limit God's power and anointing from flowing through our lives because of UN-RENEWED thinking patterns that we are still embracing. We have the potential to believe impossibilities into possibilities. Let's break the bondage of a passive spirit. Let's take up the sword of the Spirit and embrace the fight of faith! Observation: THE ONLY LIMITS I HAVE ARE THE ONES THAT I PLACE UPON MYSELF. There is a mighty battle going on for control of your mind. Heaven and earth intersect in your mind; the tugs of both spheres influence your thinking. He created you with the capacity to experience foretastes of heaven. When you shut out the world and focus on His Presence, you can enjoy sitting with Him in heavenly realms. This is an incredible privilege reserved for precious ones who belong to Him and seek His Face. Your greatest strength is your desire to spend time communing with Him. As you concentrate on Him, His Spirit fills your mind with Life and Peace. The world exerts a downward pull on your thoughts. Media bombard you with greed, lust, and cynicism. When you face these things, pray for protection and discernment. Stay in continual communication with Him whenever you walk through the wastelands of this world. Refuse to worry, because this form of worldliness will weigh you down and block awareness of His Presence. Stay alert, recognizing the battle being waged against your mind. "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus." - Ephesians 2:6"The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace." - Romans 8:6"Do not love the world or anything in the world… The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever." - 1 John 2:15–17 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  20. 1 Corinthians 2:7,8 - "But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, how shall the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?" These are days of DESTINY, filled with wonder and excitement. The awe of God is returning to the people of God, filling the heart of God's people with great expectation. Every eye shall behold His brilliance and magnificent Glory. WHERE IS THE GLORY? IT IS IN HIS PRESENCE. OBSERVATION: When I learn to draw close to Him and dwell in His presence, I will experience something even greater than what Moses did. Moses met with Him face-to-face, but I have Him living in Me. Ephesians 2:6 - "And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." AFFIRMATIONS: A spiritual kingdom lies all about me, embracing me, altogether within reach of my inner self, waiting for me to recognize it. God Himself is here waiting for my response to His presence. This eternal world will come alive to me the moment I begin to reckon upon its reality. He is with you and all around you, encircling you in golden rays of Light. He always beholds you Face to face. Not one of your thoughts escapes His notice. Because He is infinite, He is able to love you as if you and He were the only ones in the universe. Walk with Him in intimate Love-steps, but do not lose sight of His Majesty. He desires to be your friend. He created your brain with capacity to know Him as Friend and Lord simultaneously. The human mind is the pinnacle of His creation, but so few use it for its primary purpose—knowing Him. He communicates continually through His Spirit, His Word, and His creation. Only believers are capable of receiving Him and responding to His Presence. You are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made! "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them." - Psalm 34:4–7 “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” - John 17:3 "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." - Psalm 139:14 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  21. Isaiah 60:1,2 - "Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you.....Then you will see and be radiant, And your heart will thrill and rejoice." Our shining attracts His glory! And it's His glory released in and through us that brings about the greatest transformation in the lives we touch. The breakthrough provided in these promises are connected to one thing -- the manifest presence of God upon us. It's the manifestation of His glory. The command to arise and shine is the process through which we are able to step into the reality of who God says we already are (our inheritance in Christ). The wonderful part of shining for God is that He backs it up. He literally shines through us when our glory is used for His. Affirmations: THE GLORY OF THE LORD HAS RISEN UPON ME. I EXPRESS RADIANCE AS MY HEART THRILLS AND REJOICES. PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO MY LIGHT. "Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." - James 1:6-8 Boldness is a missing ingredient in many lives. Many believers struggle with such unworthiness and low self-worth that they cannot imagine God saying anything to them. But the good news of the Gospel is that as believers, we are worthy and righteous -- we just did not have anything to do with it! If we do not understand that we are coming to Him based on His righteousness, we will pray unconvinced, as DOUBLE-MINDED people. Religious teaching combined with the devils strategy, has convinced may Christians that they are unworthy and undeserving, so God would never speak to them. Yet we are worthy for one reason -- that He has forgiven our sins and called us into relationship with Him. "For the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, 'Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.'" - Ephesians 5:14 Awake and arise, for you have slumbered long enough on the bed of disappointment, rejection, pain, and abandonment. He will cause you to want to live, to declare the glory of the Lord your God in the land of this living. Cast aside everything that holds you back, whether it is a broken dream, a broken vision, a broken promise. He has seen the tears, the pain, and the confusion, but He promises you in His Word that He makes a way where there seems to be no way. Watch Him part the sea in front of you. Be alert to see Him when He comes and parts the sea, for He has a particular place for you to cross over. It will be a place of safety, a place of position, a place of authority. It will be known as 'A Blessed Path of the Highway of Holiness.' Come out of the world. Come in to His Spirit. He longs to talk to you, Spirit to spirit, heart to heart, so you will learn to rise up to high mountains, to the new vision, to the new pathway, to the new purposes, blessings, and provisions. 22. Worship is the spiritual equivalent of the power of magnification. When you begin to worship, you ascend to join the Object of your adoration. If you are soaking in His presence, then you are looking down on your problems. "Oh, magnify the Lord with me." - Psalm 34:3 Times of difficulty give us an opportunity we don't have otherwise, and that is the opportunity to demonstrate sacrificial love to Him by ministering to him instead of attending to our pressing needs. This is what makes strengthening ourselves in the Lord completely opposed to self-sufficiency. "Strengthen me according to thy word...I have chosen the way of faithfulness." - Psalm 119:28,30 When you minister to the Lord He will give you such peace and contentment that you will not wonder or guess—you will know what to do and see God's PURPOSEfor your life. (John 8:29). When God reveals your CALLING to you, He also supplies you with grace and a sense of personal conviction that is needed to carry it (our cross). The yoke is easy, joyful and light when He puts it on us. CREATED IN AND FOR GLORY WE have been created to carry the glory of God. Hebrews 2 says that through Christ's suffering He brought many sons to glory. We are the house of God, and He wants to dwell in His house. It was always God's intention to dwell with mankind. "Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!" - Corinthians 5:17 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  23. History of the King James Bible Before the Reformation, a number of translations were made of the Latin Vulgate into Anglo- Saxon English. Bede (672-735 AD) translated John's Gospel into Anglo-Saxon. King Alfred (848-901 AD) translated the 10 Commandments and Psalms into Anglo Saxon. 1) John Wycliff (1329-1384) translated the entire Latin Bible into English. 2) William Tyndale (1494-1536) made the first printed English Bible version in 1525. He studied at Oxford and Cambridge. Around 1520 he became convinced of Reformation truths and saw the need of translating the Bible into English. Unable to do so in England due to Roman Catholic persecution, he set out for Europe in 1524, where in that same year at Wittenberg he translated the New Testament from Greek into English. About 18,000 copies of his New Testament were printed in Europe between 1525 and 1528 and shipped secretly to England. After this, Tyndale continued to live in Europe as a fugitive from English authorities. In 1530-31 he translated and published parts of the Old Testament from Hebrew to English. In 1534 he left his hiding place in Antwerp, but a `friend' betrayed him to the English authorities, leading to his imprisonment in 1535. The English Catholic authorities executed him in 1536 for the "crime" of publishing the Bible. His dying prayer was, `Lord, open the eyes of the King of England'. His life's work had been completed. He had securely laid the foundations of the English Bible. About 90% of the KJV is derived from the martyred Tyndale's version. 3) In 1535, Miles Coverdale translated an English version from the Latin Vulgate and from the Latin and German versions. He also relied heavily on Tyndale's version. 4) In 1537, John Rogers, a close friend of Tyndale, produced the `Matthew Bible' named after Thomas Matthew, a pseudonym for Rogers himself. This Bible contained Tyndale's OT and NT, and Coverdale's Old Testament not covered by Tyndale's. 5) In 1539, Coverdale revised the Matthew Bible which, because of its size, became known as the Great Bible. This became the official Bible of the English Church. In the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, two revisions were made of the Great Bible. These were the Geneva Bible and the Bishop's Bible, as mentioned below: 6) The Geneva Bible was published in 1560 by English Protestants in exile in Geneva, fleeing from Roman Catholic Bloody Mary's persecutions. It had some anti Catholic footnotes. 7) The Bishops' Bible was published in 1568. When King James I came to the English throne in 1603, there existed in the Church of England a large party of reformers called `Puritans' whose aim was to purify the English church by removing from it all remnants of Roman Catholicism. They called for a new version of the English Scriptures, and it was the Puritan leader, John Reynolds, who first suggested this to King James at a church conference called by the King at Hampton Court in 1604. The King, being a keen Bible student, accepted the suggestion and in six months a complete list of scholars and procedures had been drawn up to complete the work. The translators included Anglicans, Puritans, clergymen and laymen, each having proven ability as a Biblical scholar. They were organised into 6 groups: 2 at Oxford, 2 at Westminster and 2 at Cambridge. Each group was assigned separate sections of Scripture to translate. Their work was then sent to a committee of 6 men for final correction and preparation for printing. It was printed in 1611 in loose leaf form so that people could buy it with or without the Apocrypha which was only regarded as a commentary on the period between the OT and NT, not as part of scripture. They 91 listed 7 reasons why the Apocryphal books were to be categorically rejected as part of the inspired canon. 1) None were written in Hebrew. 2) No writer claimed inspiration. 3) They were never acknowledged as Scripture by OT Jews or Jesus, 4) or NT Christians up to 500AD. 5) They have contradictions. 6) They teach false doctrines such as prayers for the dead and sinless perfection. 7) They teach immoral practices, such as lying, suicide, assassination, magical incantation. (Answers book, S.Gipp, p.99-100). Aleph and B have apocryphal books included throughout the inspired text. Horrors! The KJV is mainly a revision of the Bishops' Bible, which in turn was a revision of Tyndale's Bible. It soon became the standard Bible of the English speaking world, so that it became known as the Authorised Version. It was subject to 2 minor revisions in 1629 and 1638. In 1762, the spelling and punctuation of words were changed to their modern equivalents. None of the translators were Jews or Catholics. Compare this with the United States Congressional Record (March 3, 1960, p.3981) stating that "of the 95 people.who translated the RSV, 25 had records of support for Communist causes." Modern versions being translated from the UBS critical text, are using a Greek text prepared by the Jesuit Roman Catholic Cardinal Carlo Martini of Rome. Jesuits are dedicated to ecumenism and to the destruction of Protestantism and the Received Text. The 17th Century was a time of Reformation with many people fleeing from the false doctrines and persecutions of Roman Catholicism. The 20th Century on the other hand was a century of tolerance, ecumenism and a return to Roman Catholicism. These differences are seen in modern versions deleting or softening many anti-Catholic verses. Lancelot Andrews, one of the KJV translators was conversant in 15 languages. John Bois, at age 6, could read and write Hebrew. (McClure, Translators Reviewed, p.206). John Reynolds was known as a living library, and a third university. The KJV is the result of a 229 year process of scrutinising revision from Wycliff, not just of 4 years of translation. Some alleged mistakes in the KJV were typographical or spelling errors, because in 1611 there was no such thing as correct spelling, eg "ran" was also spelt "rann","dark" as "darke". Other authorities were consulted when needed in translation. God has blessed and used the KJV to bring great revivals and to inspire missionary activity when the KJV reigned supreme in the land. The Revised Version (1881) and ASV (1901), signalled a clear rejection of final authority of the Bible and introduced a new era of spiritual deterioration and apostasy as seen this century. 900 million copies of the KJV have been printed in over 300 languages. Question: Why are there over 100 Bible versions in print? Answer: Because of MONEY. If the publishers can get 500 million Christians to buy a new version at $20 each, they have a turnover of $10 billion. Two years later the publisher brings out another version, claiming that this new version is better than previous ones. 500 million Christians buy another corrupt, everchanging modern version at $20 each and the publisher makes another $10 billion. The same happens again in a few years time. It pays publishers to have a changing Bible. God disapproves. Question: What do you say to criticism that the KJV has supposedly wrongly translated a word? Answer: A little learning is a dangerous thing. One translator, Dr Richard Kilby, professor of Hebrew and Greek at Oxford University, visited a church with Bishop Sanderson one Sunday, and heard a young preacher claiming that several words were incorrectly translated in the KJV. Later that evening, the young preacher was invited to dinner with Kilby and Sanderson. Kilby explained to the young preacher that the translators had very carefully considered the "3 reasons" the young preacher gave, but they had found another 13 stronger reasons for translating it as they did. Lesson: Don't complain about how the KJV translated words, because they had much more knowledge than critics of today. It's easy to complain when you don't have all the facts. reprinted with permission from Pastor Keith Piper. https://www.libertybaptistchurch.org.au/
  24. Luke 17:20,21 - And when He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." The word "observation" in verse 20 literally means to stand beside and watch. This accurately describes the posture of many who are looking for a rescue or a revival. They stand beside as life passes by and watch passively for the Lord to move sovereignly. Jesus told the Pharisees that the kingdom of God would not come when they stood by and watched for it. He then told them the kingdom of God was within them. Jesus was saying that the kingdom of God will not come if we are not actively engaged in bringing it. Since the kingdom of God is within us, it is within our power to see it come to pass. The kingdom of God will not come if we are in a passive posture because we are God's agents to bring out the kingdom He has planted within us. Affirmations: I START WORKING WITH THE LORD TO BRING IN THE KINGDOM FROM WITHIN MY SPIRIT WHERE GOD HAS DEPOSITED HIS SPIRIT. THE KINGDOM OF GOD COMES AS I LABOR WITH THE LORD TO BRING IT IN. WHERE THERE IS BARREN LAND, I PLANT; WHERE THERE IS FRUIT, I REAP - I STOP LOOKING FOR THE KINGDOM TO COME FROM WITHOUT. 2 Kings 5:10 - "And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean." Observation: AS I DIP IN THE LIVING WATER OF GOD'S WORD AND SUBMERGE MYSELF IN THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - THE WORLD WILL SEE AN EVENT THAT TRANSCENDS HUMAN POWER. THEY WILL WONDER AT THE DIVINE INTERVENTION BY GOD INTO MY CIRCUMSTANCES. "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:12-14 All too many believers are looking back, and not willing to go forward with Him. Until our perspective is right, we will not discern His presence as our Lord and King, or His presentation of the Age to come. 1 Chronicles 12:32 speaks of a company of (spiritually mature) men who had "understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." Only as we walk with Jesus in expectancy, with purpose and direction, will we be able to understand and rightly relate to the things that are before us. If you feel the inner tug of the Holy Spirit to take you further, and the intense work of the enemy attempting to hinder, His hand is indeed upon you for this new day. Listen to what the Spirit is saying, then set your face as a flint, and begin to walk with Jesus toward this new day. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
