  4. Hello everyone my name is nick this is the first time I've searched for a Christian site that allows you to talk to other Christians, I want to offer my gratitude to the owners of this site, since at this moment all I need is brothers and sisters that I can listen to and can lead me the right way when I need to hear the word through someone, I am only 26 years old and I've been on and off in Christianity everytime I come back to the right path it gives me joy and makes me feel like me and my family is safe I dont go to church anymore because my church moved away very far from where I live but if I can use this site to be closer to God I'd be more than happy that I still got something other than the bible, sorry for my long message I hope I can help others in here as well. Have a bless weekend.
  5. Hello people's. I'm glad I found you! It took a bit to find a Christian forum where members were using the bible as a guide. Thanks for having me!
  6. With what sort of love? Omegaman 3.0 6/5/2019 I recently posted in a thread at Worthy Christian Forums, where there seemed to be some disagreement about the nature of the kind of love that Christians are supposed to have. There also seemed to be some disagreement and even questions about whether or not some to the Bible’s statements contradict each other on this topic. I felt compelled to chime in. Not to toot my own horn, but as I developed my reply, I thought some of my comments were worth making a note of here, since they represent my thoughts (which is what a blog is, after all) and some of them arose out of my analysis of what people were disputing, so here it goes: I do not have two cents, but I have a nickel: I certainly see no contradiction between what Jesus said, and what John said, but I will offer my thoughts or opinions, as a sort of unsolicited, under-qualified commentary: First observation: 34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” My comment on that passage is that Jesus said that loving others is a commandment, and He is referring to the Law, so THAT is not new! What was the standard? Love others as you love yourself. Second observation: 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13 My comment on this one is that Jesus said it is new. If He said it is new, then it IS new. What is new about it? Jesus upped the standard. The standard here is not love each other as you love yourself, but love each other has Jesus Himself loved them. How was that? Self-sacrificially, Jesus DIED for them, that is real love. John tells us that when he reports that Jesus also said: Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 So, the NEW commandment you will note, is not to the general public, it was to His disciples. John also noted that Jesus gave his disciples a purpose, the positive side effect: "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:25 So, the new command so far is that disciples are to love other disciples, with the same sort of love, the greatest love, self-sacrificial love, as Jesus demonstrated on the cross, not that we must die, but that is the supreme example of that kind of love. Tradition has it, that all the apostles except Judas and John, died as martyrs, and John was willing. They tried to boil him in oil, it just did not work, so he was banished to Patmos, where he penned the book of Revelation. As a side note, when Peter was told he was to be crucified, Peter asked Jesus about John - well, what about him (John)? Jesus basic answer was, that is none of your business Peter! From what we think we know, John died of "natural" causes, in his old age. So, for the most part, the disciples lived out their mission the obey the commandment, the loved us, all disciples enough to die in their efforts to see that we got Jesus message. At this juncture, I would like to point out something else, from Matthew 28: 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. So, Jesus disciples were told to make other disciples. If you are a believer, you are one of the disciples of disciples of disciples, etc. The disciples were to teach others to obey Jesus. If you are a TRUE disciple, you will seek to, want to, obey Jesus. After all, that is what a disciple is, one who follows their teacher. Our ultimate Teacher then, is Jesus. What is it then, that we are taught to obey then? Among other things: Make more disciples and teach them to obey Jesus, and that includes loving other believers with the unique love that Jesus lavished upon them. So, for the most part, the disciples lived out their mission they obeyed the commandment, the loved us, all disciples enough to die in their efforts to see that we got Jesus message. They practices what they preached, and the preached what Jesus told them to. So many of the quotes I supplied ARE from John, how then is that a contradiction? John knew that there was an Old Testament command, to love others as ourselves. He also was quick to point out that those in the Jesus' church, were to go beyond that sort of love, the easy love that even pagans so. Toward each other, they were to with a supernatural love that is not given to everyone, but believers are given that ability, and are told to exercise it. Love is an aspect of the fruit of the Spirit, the Paul describes in Gal 5:22 and Eph 5:19. (Those are links, by the way) Paul also describes love in 1 Cor 13: 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. With all of this great information in the Bible (not in my post), the real question is: HOW WELL DO WE ALL MEASURE UP? I also ask, that you consider praying about this in your own lives, that you pray for others also, and not the least, for me also, as we all need it at times. Go forth and love, to the Glory of God!
  7. Hello, i am new and trying to fellowship with Christians. I hope you are all having a blessed day!
  8. Hello Worthy Forums, I made it here by the skin of my teeth. Honestly, I feel like the simple fact that I can bring myself to even join and post in this forum at all is a testimony to the Grace and Mercy of God and Jesus Christ working in my life. That all sounds good and all but there's a part of me that feels like I'm just spouting off the things that might get me some kind of pat on the back. I don't really know where to begin but I need Jesus Christ and I need him desperately. I guess that's as good a beginning as any, right? Maybe we shouldn't get into the occult 'blood-over-intent' ritual I performed while incarcerated, at my most fearful/angry/broken point, where I made a pact with the devil that I would renounce Jesus and the Father and give my soul, my mind, my body over to Satan in exchange for freedom and favor in the eyes of the courts or how I signed it in blood. That might be too much for some people but I guess I'm going to overshare. That or how I've destroyed virtually every relationship I've ever had, with family, with friends, with romantic partners. Or how I've polluted my brain with every imaginable type of pornographic filth, fetish and depravity (and things that no decent person would dare to conjure in their minds) that has all but totally warped my perception of myself and those around me. Or should we talk about how I grew up in the Church (protestant, non-denominational) and 'studied' the Bible with such a fervent spirit on fire for the Lord, at least outwardly, but took every possible chance to sow seeds of discord and dissension amidst my peers. If there is a sin, trust me, I've committed it. And if I haven't done it, I've thought about it and fantasized about it. And yes, I am confessing before God and all of you here, that means everything. One of the only things that brings me consolation and comfort at all is this verse in Romans that says " For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." I know that God loves me, even as depraved and filthy and shameful and horrendous as I am. I know that He sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins so that I might be saved. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. But no matter what I do, no matter how many altar calls I've gone to, no matter how many times I've been baptized (yes, more than once), no matter what I do, there's SOMETHING that keeps me from living a victorious Christian life (does that even exist? maybe my understanding of what that means is flawed?). The devil would have me blame myself, blame my mental illnesses, blame God, blame my wildly abusive parents and traumatic childhood, blame drugs, blame the world, blame everything I possibly can point the finger at. But what if it's been the devil all along? I want to DIE TO MY SIN. My flesh LOVES my sin but I know that my sin separates me from having a relationship with Jesus and I'm SO lonely, I'm so scared, I'm SO broken and I cannot continue living this way without Jesus, without really knowing Him. I can't be a lukewarm Christian anymore. It is ALL or nothing. Will Jesus still take me? Can I be forgiven? - Christopher Michael
  9. Hi I'm new and just saying hello.
  10. Hello, my name is TracyAnn and I am so excited to join in and be able to chat with other Christians online. I am from Oregon and right now attend a Nazarene church in our town, but I raised myself Baptist growing up. Our church had the AWANA program and so I started going there and got my mother who we all call Nana involved and saved too. I have Lupus and cannot live on my own so we live together in a little house and Praise God it works really well. We listen to a lot of Dr. David Jeremiah and love his prophecy teaching, I am a Bible strong partner with them so we get things from them every month and love it ..
  11. Just want to say hi to all. Found this site today and have been snooping around. Lot's of inetresting things going on. I'm looking forward to make friends here. PS. English is not my first language but I'm hoping to make a connection.
  12. Hi, I'm Michelle and new to this chat room, or any chat room, for that matter. Since this is quite new to me, I will, no doubt, sound like a novice. I live in a rural area of the Midwest, and a country girl at heart. My four daughter range in ages from 13 to 19; and I've been married for 25 years. If I had a specific topic, can it be directed to only certain members? or certain sections (unsure of terminology) or groups?
  13. I'm Shelbie. I'm 23 years old. I'm here because I don't have many christian friends and I needed to seek like minded people in order to stay on the right track. I'm definitely luke warm, battling with sexual sin, lust, pornography, and masturbation. The topic is extremely sensitive for me but I want so badly to do right by God and to be clean and pure in his presence. My constant battle with my flesh has also left me depressed and discouraged, as if I'll never amount to anything more than a sinner. I know that I can have better and that I can do better but i don't. I truly need help and I'm too ashamed to speak to those around me. So this is sort of like my last resort.
  14. Hello! My name is Bianca, and I found this place to help me with my struggle of walking a righteous path. I want to know just where I'm headed to. I have so many questions that I'm sure have already been answered on here. Anyway, I'm happy to be here and excited to know more about our Lord!

  17. Hi all, It is my honor to have become one of your newest members. I decided to join two large Christian forums to find and offer inspiration from/to other Christians. Entering heavy disputes is not my strongest point, I prefer to seek the unity among Christians. On the day of my birth I was baptized in a Roman Catholic church. In one forum I saw Catholicism mentioned as a “sect”, but I hope for a more open-minded attitude here. In my daily life I get along extremely well with Christians of quite different denominations. Among things important for me as a Christian are: the continuous search for inspiration, both from within and from without; room for the mystery that, for me as a human being, is associated with Godly matters; and, as I said, the unity among Christians. I am worried about the negative approach to Christianity nowadays, and happy if I feel the presence of God. I worship Jesus Christ and think a lot of His suffering for us. For me, prayer is very important, as is meditation. If I make it empty in myself, the Spirit typically fills it. That is how I like to see it. The remainder of today I am bound to find little time for answering your reactions, but I sort of count on there being a tomorrow. In God I trust.
  18. Hello! Just wanted to say thank you for making this forum open to me! It’s nice to be talking to other believers and challenged as well.
  19. Hi. I just signed up for the forums, and I'm looking forward to meeting new friends. I hope everyone has a great day. Question: do the required posts needed to verify I'm not a spammer have to be new posts, or do replies count? (Sorry, if this is a stupid question.)
  20. Sense God’s Peace To peace as my mind’s chatter becomes numb. … From dumb ones’ mindless matters. It is all up to He to set my brain free- Becoming less flesh; naughty body! God’s Spirit breaks free past chains misery, Drowning in sorrow, sin pained. Let me again pray for you, friend, Replacing my rant on the mend. In the Lord I place you to soothe stress gone through. Now on this new page I will write Christ answers for you. He’s how I got through Healed, restored full; reborn new. I thought that you knew [all In the mind true] Whom Calms stormy seas. He Makes us all be Still, sensed God’s Word peacefully. ~ Sense God’s Peace ~ 2018 ~ Gregory KJ Brumwell 11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. ~ 2 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV) 19 lines #MindOfGod #JesusChrist #Sin #Peace
