  1. I am sure we have all walked through the valleys on our journey. The valley sounds as if it would be a place of rich nature, babbling brooks, peace ect........... However in our spiritual life, I have found the valley a place of great learning. Where your life is ripped opened, is raw & exposed ! A place where there is NO where to run nor hide except under the shadow of his wing. Torments, troubles, the trials we face, all help us become strong enough to climb to the tops of the mountains & feast @ God's table. A few scriptures then I'd like to share..... ISAIAH CHAPTER 43 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the LORD thy God, Psalm 23 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. 2. One of the fruits of the Spirit is Patience. Patience is one of those traits describing a person who isn't impatient. If time goes too slow when a person wants it to go faster, that person could be dealing with the nemesis of patience- Impatience. If Patience is a fruit of the Spirit in a believer's life, then it only stands to reason impatience is NOT a fruit of the Spirit. God is said to be very patient with us and with creation. No doubt many times He could have acted much differently, but due to His nature, He chose to have patience with us. This is not to say God never acts. God will eventually know when it's in His time to judge evil wicked men and women. This is not Impatience on God's part, this is God's perfect timing. I remember when one kind of guitar came out and everyone who wanted it was scrambling to get it asap. For some reason people scramble to get the newest things as they come out, but a few years later the same thing can be found for pennies compared to the original cost. This is because demand dropped off and the item was no longer as desirable, and it's probably common knowledge many companies will try to create a hype around a product so people will buy it i.e. the Apple iphone released around Christmas time. What about other times and situations when it seems people don't like to wait? No one likes waiting in long lines or in doctor's offices or traffic jams, so how are we as believers to deal with these things? Do you feel we should be infinitely patient, or is there a point when it is good and fair to feel frustrated and act on a solution to speed the process? How many must have a sickness or know of an unwell loved one that seems to be going through so much. We wish we could rush the healing process somehow to make them better right away. When going through any kind of an unfortunate situation we can't seem to get through it fast enough. Is it commendable to hurry through life? Many see hurry as a good thing because it looks productive, but it it really? A single person intent on meeting a mate can get impatient with what they feel is low quality candidates and they feel they are wasting their time, or we can become impatient with the lack of progress either in ourselves or in others for various reasons. Impatience often comes from an expectation that was unfulfilled, Maybe we planned to be at a meeting by 9, but this traffic jam is going to make us late, so we sit and stew over it. How do we let go and let God when these things happen? When God throws a monkey wrench into our plans? Do we lower our expectations or do we just give up on life and decide to coast through it not really caring any more about any of it? A person close to me always says, " You are where God wants you to be right now". This is supposed to make me feel better, but usually it doesn't. Then I ask God why He put me in this slow unproductive mess. As we mature in the Lord we are SUPPOSED to be gaining this valuable trait. This is one part of us as created in the image of God we should be able to mirror. Yet how often do we?
  3. In the amazing sovereignty of God, my Palm Sunday search at Ligoneir.org brought up a message titled "A Puny God." All, please watch and listen to this. It is so appropriate at this time, when the infinite God is shaking the Church and the world with COVID-19 in His anger at sin. It could be so much worse and we deserve so much worse, but God is patient and not only holy, but gracious and merciful. In wrath, He will remember mercy (Habakkuk 3:2). A Puny God by Steven Lawson A Puny God by Steven Lawson If the church has a low view of God, its light will be dim, and the darkness will not be pushed back. Today, our... 4. Are you letting patience do it's thing? James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. I'm waiting patiently for a reply, maybe some insight, or a testimony. I have to be very patient with some of the people in my life...very patient. I'm thinking James had to be, him being the brother of Jesus, same mother, different father. He wanted to keep in with the synagogue crowd, hoped they would look favourably on Jews that became Christians. Stirred folk up with his epistle. Thanks James. Praise God for the Book of James.
  5. I had no idea how the tags were going to go, so I hope it didn't cause any thoughts of being misled. While in Bible study I thought of the secular quote "the definition of insanity" who originated it and what was the full quote. Something like "repeating something and expecting a different result." I would like to know the circumstances that resulted in the quote. I need context to understand better what the originator meant. For instance was it a reference of obsessive-compulsive? But then I suppose that those of that affliction aren't attempting to get a different result. But what of the guy that invented a way to get electricity? He tried over and over with the intent of getting a different result. But that has to talking about experimentation to find what works. So now I'm back to requesting an example, either real or hypothetical. P.S. And, for some strange reason I also thought of Groundhog Day.
  6. Some Folk Easily Take Offense For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 1 Peter 2:21-23 (New American Standard Bible) Others, Not So Much Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (English Standard Version) Beloved, What Do You Think?
  7. God Heals at the Gas Station! (Testimony) God loves to work with His children everywhere! Here is a testimony of just that; God working through His faithful servant to heal a man who was clearly in great pain at a GAS STATION of all places! How cool is that?! God is awesome! God bless you all, in Jesus' mighty name!
  8. 2 Corinthians 13:5 - "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are holding to your faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you? - unless indeed you fail to meet the test!" OBSERVATION: If our Christianity does not work in this life where we can test it, it is foolhardy to hope it will successfully transport us into eternity where, if we fail the test, we suffer eternal separation from God. The test of truth is not an intellectual pursuit but whether you are drawing closer, week by week, to knowing and loving Jesus Christ. Luke 10:40-42 - "But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, 'Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."' MARY HAD SET EVERYTHING ELSE SET ASIDE, SO SHE COULD HEAR THE WORD. BUT MARTHA HAD LET THE SEEMINGLY IMPORTANT BUSINESS OF LIVING TAKE PRIORITY OVER THE WORD. Romans 8:6 - "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8:25 - "But if we must keep trusting God for something that hasn't happened yet, it teaches us to wait patiently and confidently." There is a fresh stirring of the Lord's desire for us to become all that He would have us to be (our DESTINY). We are hearing a new message beyond anything that we have heard in the past. Our part is to be spiritually open and receptive. We become increasingly aware of the "Open Heaven" that has always been available to us, through which the "Son" can shine brightly to release the potential that is buried within us. For this to happen, we must respond with anticipation, expectancy, and patience. AFFIRMATIONS: God grants me the spirit of wisdom and understanding to fulfill the hope to which He has called me and realize the richness of His glorious inheritance in me. (Ephesians 1:17,18) I curse those things that don’t bear fruit for God in my life. (Mark 11:12) I make plans and goals to reach and fulfill the desire God has put into my heart. The Holy Spirit will correct those plans and goals to match God’s purpose for me. An uncommon dream requires uncommon patience. (Proverbs 19:21) ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  9. Numbers 11:5,6 - "We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions and the garlic: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna before our eyes." They were unsuccessful in deriving from the manna all the taste and strength they were looking for, not because the manna didn't have these but because of their craving for other foods. Similarly, if spiritual persons could raise their appetites above childish things, they would discover in spiritual food the savor of all things. \ 2 Kings 6:17 - "And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." In spiritual warfare, the battle is never limited to an "us against them" human affair. It always includes "those with us" against "those with them." Do you want to cultivate your spiritual mind? Then immerse yourself in God's Word (Psalm 119:9). Pray for revelation and ask the Spirit of God to open your eyes to behold awesome things from heavenly realms. There is nothing wrong with intellectual knowledge and pursuit. God gave us our mind and expects us to use it. However, we should never depend upon mere human intellectual wisdom to advance us in the realm of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). Mark 11:23 - "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." Because great power is released when my heart and mouth start working toether, it's extremely important that I put the right things into my heart. OBSERVATION:Once I find the will of God in a situation I will know how to pray. If I need a mountain moved out of my life, I believe God with my heart and speak it out with my mouth. AFFIRMATIONS:Jesus came that I might have life and that I might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) I shall have whatsoever things that I desire when I pray, since I believe that I receive them. (Mark 11:24) Seeing that I have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, I hold fast to my confession. (Hebrews 4:14) ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  10. James 1:4 - "But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." The Greek word patience can be translated endurance, constancy, or being constant regardless of circumstances. Faith is dependent on patience. Patience won't let faith quit. Patience is dependent on the decision to stay on the word regardless of what gets thrown against our lives. Affirmation: VICTORY IS ALREADY MINE 1 John 4:16,17 - "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as he is, so are we in this world." God is love, and because we are one with Him, we too are love. 2 Chronicles 12:14 - And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord. When satan throws temptation your way, if you are not already prepared, it's too late. You'll probable lose the fight. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
