  1. Praying for Protection Shalom Sisters and brothers! One of our sisters has been victim of witchcraft, and was almost killed. She just got released from the Hospital where God and his angels visited her. She met God for the first time and this event led her to an encounter with God. Many friends and family members have participated in demonic rituals to destroy her life and her sisters life. They both have been hospitalized and discharged. They are now recovering in a safe place. Please pray for spiritual deliverance, spiritual protection, enhanced and continued relationship with God, discernment, obedience, faith and wisdom For the 2 sisters. Thank you, be blessed
  2. This one is lengthy, almost 45 minutes, but I think it is worth your time. I found it fascinating and delightful, and should be encouraging and helpful to Christians. I was tempted to put it in the Bible Topics area, there is a not of Bible in it. However it is more of a testimony of the remarkable events of Corrie's life of how she came to be imprisoned in Nazi Germany for hiding Jews from persecution, and her experiences in concentration camps. Did you know fleas and lice, can be a blessing from God, and an ant can give you a sermon? There are lessons here, for any who might find themselves in persecution, (real persecution, not merely being ridiculed for your faith at the work place) to see how faith can see us through, should such events ever befall us.
  3. What are some prayers I can say for; forgiveness, protection, and blessings?
  4. My son needs God's special protection today. He is being forced to be trained on how to use the scissors lift at his job (where he has worked for 18 years.) He tried explaining to his boss that he has a fear of heights that will make it difficult to maneuver this machine. But he got no understanding. So he has no choice but to do it. Both he and I are very uneasy about this. Prayers for his safety on this scissors lift and success in learning this skill are appreciated.
  5. A close friend of mine has been falsely accused of stealing from someone in their apartment complex. Please pray this matter works out somehow. My friend is distraught and depressed over this. It is hard to live in a place where this animosity exists. This friend is easily hurt and brought down. Last thing needed right now when they are seeking to get closer to God. So please pray for them spiritually and emotionally...as well as their protection. Also, pray the management in this senior housing complex does not take the accusers side. I don't want my friend getting evicted! This is especially concerning in light of the fact that the accuser is friends with one of the apartment managers.
  6. Asking your prayers for my son for God to prevent injuries at his job. He works in a factory with a tall fork lift that is not up-to-par and treacherous. My son does his best to exercise caution when ever forced to use it. Wednesdays are when he must be on it full 8 hours. He expressed being nervous today so I decided to post this prayer request. There's not much a mom can do once their child is grown to keep them safe but to pray God's protection over them. He has been experiencing certain work related hazards this year for some reason after many years of no issues.
  7. Please pray the Lord will protect my son on the job. He works with heavy equipment and drives a fork lift. He suffers nightly with severe insomnia (something I also have on a regular basis) Last night he got almost NO sleep. But he has to pull an 8 hr shift starting right now. I don't want anything bad to happen. Pray for safety and strength to perform his job duties. Thanks.
  8. Dear Lord, in Jesus Christ's name I pray. Welcome Holy Spirit, embody this nation, government and military. God bless Donald Trump, keep him protected, helped and leading your nation strong and free. God bless Justin Trudeau, bend his will to yours, humble him and teach him what he needs to know of You. Thank you Lord for the peace talks in Korea! This is an appreciated answer to so many pleading prayers! We pray for the same peace and understanding in Cameroon, please have mercy and save its people. Please forgive us of all our sins. Especially excuse evil where we oppose, mock and vilify You. Please Lord, we know not what we do. Bless and revive us Lord, thy kingdom come. Put us through the painful process of cleansing this world, nation, generation and church of backsliding, sleepiness, enemies within, blasphemy, watering down of God's truth, word and law. Prune and throw such chaff into the lake of fire. Have us accept and cherish your free gift of salvation and eternal life immediately through your Son's sacrifice in place of our sin debt. May we all pray for this in our life now! Heal, restore and revive your body of Christ saved to do good works in the Lord. May we be light, salt and disciples to this desperate world. Hallelujah, he is risen, he is risen indeed! I pray this sincerely for all lost, enemies and loved ones in Jesus Christ's name, amen! GregoryB
  9. What is it that makes us decide to trust and believe, not just God, but people? Everything we do as followers of Christ is wrapped around faith, the essence of trust and belief. However, there is added disincentive in the story of Rahab in that these two men who may have entered her house under false pretenses, have now enlightened her that they are spies; that her life is now in danger from the spies and the guards of Jericho. They point out that her only reasonable choice is to hide them, and she does. For us, there is a sudden awareness that her faith in this unknown god and her desire to be rescued by Him has become challenged. What does this added incentive do to your belief system? Ponder once again what Rahab tells the two Israeli spies. Joshua 2:9-10 NASB and said to the men, "I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before you. 10) "For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. At first, it is deeply personal as she says, “ I know that the LORD has given you the land and that the terror of you has fallen on us,” This paragraph has belief and fear written all over it. While I, Rahab, know that the Almighty has his hand on you, there is a profound and genuine concern on the part of the entire city for their safety, lives, and mine as well. Joshua 2:11 NASB "When we heard it, our hearts melted and no courage remained in any man any longer because of you; for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath. Does fear promote belief? I know it does not work for me. I may, under duress, comply out of concern for the safety of my family and myself, but I will never come to admire and possibly love you, as Rahab did. The reality is that God's most significant impact on our faith is through signs. The idea that God is okay with that, comes from the verse where she recaps the two notable stories of which the people Jericho were aware. “We have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.” It is rapidly becoming evident that Rahab is a smart woman. You don't last long in such a business without the skills of a spy yourself, and she, therefore, strikes a bargain. Joshua 2:12-13 NASB "Now therefore, please swear to me by the LORD, since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father's household, and give me a pledge of truth, 13) and spare my father and my mother and my brothers and my sisters, with all who belong to them, and deliver our lives from death." The men hear her out and respond with the words she needs to hear. Joshua 2:14 NASB So the men said to her, "Our life for yours if you do not tell this business of ours; and it shall come about when the LORD gives us the land that we will deal kindly and faithfully with you." Having received a promise of protection, and trusting their word, she provides them with a way of escape. I am going to do something peculiar here, and verse 15 last because I cannot see any practicality to her shouting additional instructions to the men as they rappel down the wall from her window. Joshua 2:15-21 NASB 16) She said to them, "Go to the hill country, so that the pursuers will not happen upon you, and hide yourselves there for three days until the pursuers return. Then afterward you may go on your way." 17) The men said to her, "We shall be free from this oath to you which you have made us swear, 18) unless, when we come into the land, you tie this cord of scarlet thread in the window through which you let us down, and gather to yourself into the house your father and your mother and your brothers and all your father's household. 19) "It shall come about that anyone who goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we shall be free; but anyone who is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him. 20) "But if you tell this business of ours, then we shall be free from the oath which you have made us swear." 15) Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was on the city wall so that she was living on the wall. 21) She said, "According to your words, so be it." So she sent them away, and they departed, and she tied the scarlet cord in the window. The bargaining is completed. Rahab lets them out through a window and uses the same scarlet cord to signal Israel's troops that hers is a safe house. Suddenly it occurs to me. While the scarlet color may have been associated with her profession, it now represented that scarlet blood that saves us all. Few realize what took place. Consider also the tremendous significance, as Jesus was three days and nights in death, so to the scarlet rope hung from that window. Our redemption through Jesus was signaled all throughout this book we call the Bible, and today, I saw it. What would have happened had the townsfolk of Jericho saw that cord suddenly hanging there? With the armed militia out chasing the spies, did the town now feel safe? I doubt it. The city may have gone on lock-down. How did this rope go unnoticed? That can only be God. Did Rahab and her family demonstrate a strong faith in this God of Israel, and were therefore saved? We don't know any of that. Rahab took a chance and pitched her case, knowing full well that they could turn against her. If what she says is true, then the people within Jericho comprehend the threat that Israel poses. Finding out that two Israeli spies have infiltrated the city just raises the threat level exponentially. The result of the increased threat level is that the family, which may have treated her as an outcast, hurriedly gathered survival supplies and joined Rahab in her home. Joshua 2:23-24 NASB Then the two men returned and came down from the hill country and crossed over and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and they related to him all that had happened to them. 24) They said to Joshua, "Surely the LORD has given all the land into our hands; moreover, all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before us." Safely back at camp, they related all that had happened. What a story. Oh, and by-the-way Joshua, there is one more thing you might find interesting - “Surely the LORD has given all the land into our hands; moreover, all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before us.” At least that is what Rahab told us. Melted – is the Hebrew word moog, meaning to melt; literally (to soften, flow down, disappear), or figuratively (to fear, faint). Since this is a character study on Rahab, I am going to bypass much of the detail involved in the attack on Jericho. It is admittedly fascinating to learn how Jericho's walls fell. Having seen pictures of the archaeological digs at Jericho, it becomes apparent that they went straight down into the ground. Except for one spot, that portion that Rahab lived in. Joshua 6:20 The NASB states that the wall fell flat. What does that mean? The Hebrew word is taḥaṯ: A preposition meaning under, beneath; in place of. It indicates a position below or underneath some other reference point.” Word Study Dictionary. While the word flat is indeed an option, how do you explain under, beneath or a position below, especially when the passage goes on to say that every man walked straight ahead? We don't return to Jericho in the book of Joshua until chapter six. In the meantime, circumcisions have been performed, and Israel has passed through the Jordan on dry land, just as they did the Red Sea. This time they placed a large mound of stones to commemorate God's goodness and what a coincidence that a large mound of stones has been located in the Sea of Galilee. I suppose the obvious thing to consider here, is that much time has passed and that scarlet cord is probably still hanging out that window. Joshua 6:21-23 NASB They utterly destroyed everything in the city, both man, and woman, young and old, and ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword. 22) Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, "Go into the harlot's house and bring the woman and all she has out of there, as you have sworn to her." 23) So the young men who were spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and her mother and her brothers and all she had; they also brought out all her relatives and placed them outside the camp of Israel. How befitting that the young men who made the agreement should go and gather Rahab and her family. “Rahab and her father and her mother and her brothers and all she had; they also brought out all her relatives and placed them outside the camp of Israel.” Albert Barnes commentary states, “These words literally “made to rest outside the camp of Israel” - indicate that being still in their paganism, they were separated from the camp of the Lord. This was only for a time. They desired, and eventually obtained, admission to the covenant of the chosen people of God.” Another instance where we have no details. We know nothing about paganism, but it is probably safe to assume. Since Rahab seems to have a faith in this God she knows little about, we shall see her come to understanding and acceptance. Joshua 6:25 NASB However, Rahab the harlot and her father's household and all she had, Joshua spared; and she has lived in the midst of Israel to this day, for she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. And everyone lived happily ever after, well, I would hope so. Sadly we live in reality, but there are three other passages I want you to see. In spelling out the Jewish heritage of Jesus, the gospel of Matthew includes Rahab. Matthew 1:5 NASB Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse. Boaz, if you remember, owned the land in which Ruth had been directed to work by Naomi, her mother in law. Boaz buys the right to marry Ruth, and they produced a child named Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse, the father of David. Rahab is found in Hebrews 11 because of her faith. Hebrews 11:31 NASB By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish along with those who were disobedient after she had welcomed the spies in peace. And lastly, as an example of how faith works, we have the writings of James. James 2:24-25 NASB You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25) In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? Understanding the ramifications, Rahab accepted the spies, protected them, and sent them safely on their way. So, Rahab then becomes an example for us, of faith and how it works.
  10. "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day..." - Psalm 91:2-6 God promises us that we have no need to fear the demonic entities that will be in operation during this season because He will deliver us from the "...snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence" (Psalm 91:3). The snare of the fowler is a symbol for demonic ambushes and traps that the enemy will try to set up against us. Noisome pestilence is symbolic of things that come into our life to try and drain our resources—just like pestilences come to destroy a farmer's crops. Yet, when we dwell in God's secret place, God will make sure that what He has blessed us with will not be devoured. DWELLING IN HIS SECRET PLACE "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust." - Psalm 91:1-2 It is in our personal time with God that He will give us divine strategies and speak to us about what is to come. We have to have our spiritual ears and eyes open to hear what God is saying to us in this season. God is saying to us that when we abide in Him, He will build a wall of protection around us. No matter what evil is going on in our nation, or even within our territory of influence, it will not be able to touch us because God will be our refuge! GOD WILL PROTECT US FROM SICKNESS DURING THIS SEASON "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." - Psalm 91:9-10 God wants to comfort us by letting us know that He is going to protect us from sickness and disease. Cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, etc., are all plagues. God wants to encourage you that no matter what sickness or disease that you have been attacked with—He wants to bring healing to you. LOVE WILL BRING US INTO MASS DELIVERANCE "Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver Him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name." - Psalm 91:14 The only way we will ever be able to annihilate evil is by setting our love upon Christ. This begins with receiving Christ's love in our heart. As we affirm that we are receiving Christ's love, we then give our love back to Jesus. We demonstrate this action by permitting Christ to live through us as we help others with their spiritual needs. God says that when we purposely focus our love on Christ and make Him our main priority, He will deliver us from all evil. This not only means that God will remove evil from us, but He will also make sure that evil never comes near us. Isn't that so awesome to know that if we concentrate on loving Jesus and demonstrating His character among those we come in contact with, evil strategies and plans that satan has for us (i.e. sickness, disease, failure, trauma, job terminations, etc.) will never even occur? God will literally shut down the enemy's plans before they even come our way. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY http://afministry.ning.com
  11. almost all ministers teach god will protect us from evil if we just have faith. really! so why doesn't god protect those who are being beheaded, torched burnt alive, drowned an things one cannot imagine. this one question puts the church here in the USA in check. I'm losing my faith over this an the teachings of churches. maybe preachers should be put in the cercomstanses of those who refuse to bow down to Muslims rather die for there faith. then maybe these preachers would not so easily teach falsehoods. also I have never one time ever witnessed a miracle are they real.
  12. I'm facing a very big and important situation that affects my entire family. I can't go into detail, but I need my heart and mind settled .... in just a few weeks, our lives could change for the better or for the worse, and the decision is not in our hands. My family desperately needs the Lord's intervention in a huge way. Lives are at stake... some very young. The waiting is so very difficult. I'm sorry for being vague.... but please pray for me and my family (husband, children, grandbaby). Thank you and God bless you, Abby
  13. Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ. I want to let you know that I need for you to pray for me. Because I am facing a impossible time in my life, as well as other difficult problems. Please pray that the Lord would help me to be closer to Him,protect me,deliver me,be more faithful to Him, guide me, & to safe guard my future. I also ask that Satan's plans for me & my family's life fail. Please remember us in your prayers. Tell your friends, family, pastor and church to pray for me & my family daily. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Your Brother in Christ Anthony. <3
  14. I just received a text from my bible study leader - the son of one of our ladies runs an organization called His Feet International http://www.hisfeet.com/ Todd and his young son Caleb are in China right now and Isis is threatening executions in their region. His wife Michelle and their 6 other young children are here in Pittsburgh. Please pray for safety and protection and completion of the work they went over there for. Thank you.
  15. My wife Alice & I will be traveling to the Philippines to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary with her family. We will be leaving on Aug 5th & returning on Aug 27th. While there we will travel to the island of Davao where we will be seeking Gods will on possibly retiring there & building a Christian school for young children. Her brother Charles is a Pastor & has teaching credentials there. We ask for your prayers that God may reveal to us his will in this regard.& also for his Blessing & protection as we travel. This would be a very difficult move for me but I told God if its his will I will go wherever he sends me. So far he looks to be opening doors for us Thru ministry at church I have been assisting in providing security for the Sunday school classes & just finished watching over the kids at Vacation Bible School. So God seems to be giving me experience in watching over children. Also our Pastor has said that the Church may be able to offer us support as missionaries there. Alice spent many years as a native missionary in the Philippines. This is going to be a major decision for us so we ask for your prayers so that we may know that this is Gods will for us. Yours in CHRIST, Bob & Alice.
  16. Janette is the girl that I have been courting. Her father passed away a few days ago ... Last Tuesday morning, if memory serves me correctly. (Her mother had already passed away several years ago.) Now, Janette is having some serious mental health problems. Janette currently rents a room in a house. She shares the house with several other people. Janette does not think she will be able to return to her job for a few months. Please pray that (1) Janette’s employer will be compassionate enough to grant her a leave of absence, and (2) thats somehow, she will be able to continue to stay in the place where she is living, and be able to affort the basic necessities, until she is ready to return to work. I myself am unemployed at the present time, and I am living with my Mother. So my personal ability to help Janette is severely limited. I am really concerned about Janette's safety. I don’t know what else to say, except please pray about this!
  17. Hi All! Shortly after President Seessy made his vows on Sunday, the Egyptian citizens who voted for him (most of whom were women) went out in the public squares to celebrate. Guess what happened? 6 guys attacked a girl in the public square and raped her. They left her between life and death. They were caught afterwards of course, but while in that state of life and death, the girl's family and friends spent like 12 hours searching for a hospital to take her in and not a single hospital would. When one hospital finally agreed to take her in, a fanatic doctor (a woman of course) who followed the Muslim Brothers and their regime made fun of her, and refused to treat her. Instead, she got all the male doctors to come and see her that way: naked, bleeding, and between life and death. All she said was, "Let your Seessy save you now!" Anyway, I was having a debate on facebook with a friend of mine on facebook about protection weapons... like pepper sprays or sprays containing sulfuric acid, or guns even. She asked this question: "Would it be wrong to get an electric shock in case I'm faced with harassment or would it be considered as a sign of mistrust in God's ability to protect me?" Well, I have an opinion about that and of course none of her friends or mine liked it, but the reason I have it is from a personal experience: God has always been my protector. I walk through the valleys of the shadow every day of my life... but He has always shown me that He is kind, just, and loving... He has always protected me. Let me tell you what I said to this girl, and then I would love to here what you think about that matter: My 1st Response: Don't take this the wrong way but this my personal opinion. See, I can easily make a pepper spray or put some sulfuric acid in a sprayer and carry it along or even get a gun! But that seems to me like saying, "Ok God, I know you are powerful and can protect me but I still need to handle this my own way" so yea, if I carry my own 'protective' weapon is like saying that I do not feel sure that God is protecting me ALL the time. There are plenty of women who carry guns in the US and still get raped... My Friend's Response: I believe I must ask (like literally pray for protection) but i choose to have a permanent solution that won't really harm just so I could run...a v v simple example is if I'm going to a camp I take Off cuz I know there will be Mosquitoes n I wanna protect myself from their bites My 2nd Response: I think Mosquitoes and humans are quite different. Mosquitoes attack because it is in their nature and to survive. Humans attack when they follow evil. God definitely protects us from the latter. The former, well if you are allergic, God has made it possible for humans to invent stuff and chemicals that should help us! Another person's Response: Mariam, the world is evil. We have been put in the world that is controlled by the devil. Why do you close your windows before you go to sleep? Cuz God gave you a mind that tells you which actions are safe and which are not according to the evil that is in the world. As there are thieves, there are harassers.. If we don't use our minds to think of ways to protect ourselves, God will blame us for being too dependent on him My 3rd Response: Using your mind would make you be careful while you're walking on the street and not to go alone face evil by choice. Using your mind means that you need to dress properly in certain places and when alone (like veiled ladies if that's what it takes) so that you wouldn't be that one to blame in the end. That is using your mind. My protection... my sole protection is the Lord.... that doesn't mean I do not act wisely. After all, the Lord wants us to be wise NOT violent. Thus says the LORD : “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:23, 24 NKJV) Accordingly, that other person did not like my opinion and ended the debate there by saying that the verse is irrelevant to the 'wisdom' she meant, and is irrelevant to the whole topic, and that it is only my opinion and I should keep it to myself... Guys, you tell me your opinions as scholars of the bible and strong believers and followers of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
