    Saved

In the darkness there was a light. Sudden moment of despair, comprehending all. Father! Father! I cried, and in an instant saved. Great Mercy laid hold of me, and bore me up. At once was I giddy, rising high upon His train. I laughed, and shouted His name to the heavens. He did with all joy carry me to His fold. My feet He set upon the Rock, and understanding gave. I saw Him. He bore the wounds to tell of it. I wept of Him. Forgive me Lord? I asked. Forgiveness all He spake
  2. He told me i am going to heaven, period :) He told me i am saved. But He also told me that not everyone who claims to be a christian is saved. There are people who are convinced that they are saved and that they will go to heaven when they die, but they end up in hell. That is because they were sinners. If you sin you are not saved. Those who sin are of the devil. (1 John 3:8). True christian does not sin. If you sin then you are a slave of sin. Jesus can set a sinner free, so that he does not sin anymore. He set me free. And if you dont have the Holy Spirit, then you dont belong to Him. If someone doesn't have the Holy Spirit, then he is not a christian Jesus told me. He is a false christian. The best way to find out if you are saved is to ask Jesus and wait for His reply. His sheep listen to His voice (John 10:27). No one else can tell you that you are saved, not a pastor or someone else, only God can tell you. Only He can tell you that He is happy with you. He also told me i MUST NOT sin or i will go to hell. He chastens me if i do something He does not like (hebrews 12:6). It is painful when he chastens me but after it is over i see the fruit of it and a change in me because of it and i am happy and thankful at the end. Jesus is stern and kind. It is not enaugh to simply believe in Jesus to be saved. You must be righteous, you must not sin and you have to obey the teachings in the bible and when He reveals Himself to you, then you have to obey Jesus also, do whatever He tells you. So in short, you must not sin (willfully) and you must obey Jesus, do His will. Jesus said "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." God bless you all
  3. What could be the reasons why a seeking sinner may not be saved? What does it mean to come to the Lord? I am currently seeking the Lord, and even though God has shown me much of my depravity and sins, I struggle very much to "truly" Repent and "truly" believe. Pls. Pray to GOD for my Salvation and that I may truly be born again in CHRIST.
  4. I've never really posted anything on a forum, but I find myself very much alone and confused right now. I was saved in June 2015, never having been brought up as a Christian or even knowing many Christians through my life. I live in the UK and there is a somewhat 'stuffy' image of The Church, although perhaps that is just my thinking. Christ came to me through a dream, my heart was changed and I had been going though what felt like spiritual attacks through others and some strange experiences! Anyway (that's another story), God got me! He saved me and I am forever His! I met a man after that and he was very good to me, he too is a Christian, I honestly felt like it was God given I prayed for support the night before he contacted me, it felt like an answer to prayer. We were friends for a while, he lives in America. Through it all he seemed very genuine, he is the son of a Pastor, we prayed on the phone everyday, we became more than friends and after a few years, having met a number of times, me going there and him here, we got engaged. There were some tough times, he has misrepresented himself, we got through it, I forgave him and we moved on. Three years on, and 280 days into our visa application for me to move over to America on a fiance visa, he has a huge melt down. He tells me of all his sins, things I never thought he would be involved in (mostly of the flesh, I wont go into detail). I could and can forgive him. But now, as he has been divorced he says he will not marry me. In his repentance he feels he should not be breaking anymore commandments. He says it's against scripture, I can't argue with that, it's Gods word. But I have sold my flat. I have sent everything I own over to him, bar three suitcases and my paperwork (for the visa), I have temporary accommodation until the middle of May, we had planned all this hoping the Visa would be through by then. Of course now it wont, I am not going to be married, I will not be his wife, I will not be able to start a new in America. Which is a huge change of plan, a huge and difficult change to get my head around. I am being tested. Beyond anything I thought could happen, I had complete faith that it was Gods plan for me to be in a new country with someone who would love me. How he is even capable of dropping me like this I do not know. We never argued, we've got on well, same humour, a sharing of faith and it felt completely genuine. I am going to have to get a job in the next six weeks (money is not the best for me), I wasn't working as we were just going to get through the visa and then I could just move when we got it (stupid of me, I know). I am living out of suitcases, my heart is broken, and on top of that he has told me he has cancer, he has an operation on Tuesday to remove a stage 2 tumour, its colon cancer. He's pushed me away when I would have drawn closer. What else can I say other than that?! Without becoming too distraught and incoherent. Honestly I cannot comprehend most of this, my emotions are everywhere and I have to pull everything back together, on my own, I was going to find new friends in America, the UK has not been kind to me. This test is very tough on me, especially as a new Christian, I feel angry, upset, sad, heart broken and pure despair. I know that God is working, and perhaps I will come out the other end ok. He was my only Christian friend, would anyone have any advice? Or could someone pray for me? It's my birthday today.. I'm 42! This shouldn't happen to a 42 year old woman! I feel ridiculous as well as distraught.... and tired, very, very tired.
  5. Matthew 12: 1-21 · Matthew 12:2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.” This reminds me that the Pharisees often accuse without knowing the purpose, heart of a man, or the reason that things are done. They are just looking to find fault with others, or look superior over people. This is a great reminder of how we ought not to be. Another good reference of this type of behavior is in Luke 18:9-14. It says, To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' " I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." · Matthew 12:7 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’[a] you would not have condemned the innocent. God wants us to be obedient, but He wants us to be merciful with others because He’s been merciful with us. How we show Him love is obedience and how we show others love is by our treatment of them, which should be kind. · Matthew 12:13-14 Then he (Jesus) said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus. The thing that stood out to me the most is that Jesus does good, restores, and heals a man, and right after that good work the Pharisees look to harm, destroy, and even kill Jesus. We too are told that for following Jesus we will be hated in this way. Matthew 10:22, "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.” I think sometimes right after we do good, the enemy attacks, so we need to be on guard and not surprised when this happens. LEVITICUS 14 · Just a general thought of this passage. When I read about the very specific details in just one aspect of following the law, I realize how hard it would be to live up to every aspect of the law. On the flip side, I think it would be nice to know that when you do the process of cleansing that molds and skin diseases (including sores) would be gone. · Leviticus 14:33-34 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “………..I put a spreading mold in a house in that land…..”. I find it interesting that the Lord is the one that put the mold in the house. Why would He do such a thing? Was it to create obedience in that individual’s life, was it punishment for sin, or something else? There is definitely a purpose/reason to all that God does, but sometimes from a human perspective, it’s hard to understand. PROVERBS 26 · Proverbs 26:2 Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. I get why a curse would be fluttering (constant) source of sorrow or difficulty, but does anyone know why it’s undeserved? · Proverbs 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. I think this is a good reminder not to engage in debate with someone that is just trying to fight, unwilling to learn, and unwise in their beliefs. I think if we do, we can get sucked in to their drama, arguing, and it is not profitable at all, and we become like them which we don’t want to be like.
  6. Then why are you condemning your brother because he is not keeping the whole law as you claim you do?! The idea that people must be circumcised, keep the Sabbath (as if it was possible nowadays), or abstain from certain foods (such as pork), are not to be forced on anyone. Do not act like this: "But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”" - Acts 15:5 Scriptures are clear that we are saved by grace through faith, and not by deeds of the law. "Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they." - Acts 15:10-11 Then please, stop thinking that people who are not circumcised, do not keep the Sabbath (as if it was possible nowadays), and do not abstain from the foods you do are condemned and do not have God. Those who have God have love for one another, they do not seek to live according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit that was given to them. "By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit." - 1 John 4:13 Have you received the Holy Spirit by faith or by deeds of the law?! Scripture is clear that all one must do to receive the Holy Spirit is to repent, believe and receive from the heart the Gospel of the Lord Jesus. "Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." - Acts 2:38 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13 And the burden of the Lord Jesus is light, as He told us: "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:29-30 Then why are you requiring to people who believe in the Lord Jesus to keep the whole law, and eat the things you believe they should?! If anyone is being able to keep the whole law then Jesus would not need to shed his precious blood on the cross for all of us. "I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." - Galatians 2:21 Then please, do not force rules on people so that they live like you or they're not saved. "For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him." - Romans 14:2-3 Then you will tell me: "Then you're saying that people can live the way they want, in perdition, in sin, and do whatever their flesh desires?!" Why do you think that?! Do you not remember that people have repented from their wicked ways and believed the Gospel from the heart and received the Lord Jesus?! "For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor." - Galatians 2:18 "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." - 1 John 1:6 Do not be deceived, those who are truly born of the Spirit, seek and have pleasure in holiness and to be cleansed of their wickedness. "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." - Romans 8:9 "And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." - Galatians 5:24-25 We are now in Christ, we are not friend of this world and the flesh anymore. We are ONE in Christ, we are children of God, please understand this. "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." - 1 John 5:4 And what the Lord Jesus expect from us is just that, that we walk in His Spirit, love one another, and consequently we abstain from evil. This is faith in Christ! "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell." - Acts 15:28-29 And if the Spirit of Christ is truly in you, you will agree to what I have written. Because I do not write from myself. "When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”" - Acts 11:18 Glory to God! Amen.
  7. Keys to everlasting life!!! This IS the truth of salvation and is absolutely worth 17-min of your time! Jesus revealed this revelation progressively. For a long time I had to preach and live by faith, not fully understanding why this doctrine of fully surrendering to Jesus was not works-righteousness based and left room for grace by faith. Now I understand it's because the humble will live this way. The humble will realize they cannot do anything without Jesus Christ, like Jesus said. The humble will lay down their lives, pick up their cross, and follow Jesus to life, daily! As the Bible makes clear: God resists the proud, and to the HUMBLE God gives GRACE! And is it not by grace that we are saved?! It is. So humility is absolutely key to salvation. Humility is what is good and right in the sight of God. Humility is what leads to the kind of life that allow the work to get HIS eternal work done through us. Humility is everything, for without it we become enemies of God, and God WILL resist us, and I cannot imagine any of those that God has resisted entering in to Heaven on the day of judgement. I guess time will tell. But to me, the scriptures make it crystal clear, and I am going to pursue this race home to God with the most zeal and to the highest degree possible for me to run. I am not playing around or risking my eternal soul. Humility is the path I will choose, by the grace of God, by humbling myself in brokenness of spirit, in poverty of spirit, in front of Him and seeking HIS way home, as HE leads me!!! God is awesome, wonderful, and amazing! At the end of the day, there is nothing better than God's plan for out lives. His will is perfect; He is all-loving, all-knowing, and all-powerful, truly we should be jumping at the chance to surrender our lives to a God such as this, and I ABSOLUTELY AM! God has proven His goodness to me time and time again! There is no other way to TRULY live and get the most out of this life than to give it ALL over to Him! So to those who choose to do their best to take their every word and action from God, I think that is wonderful! Let us continually humble ourselves in front of Him, and follow His way home! It's going to be a marvelous journey to say the least! God bless you all, in Jesus' mighty name! -Daniel James 4:6 (NIV): But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." James 4:6 (KJV): But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. John 14:6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Matthew 7:21: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Acts 4:12: Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Titus 3:5: he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-eg4L5L4S8
  8. For our 2013 Christmas services at NewSpring Church we spent time traveling to Israel to film in Nazareth, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem exploring the birth of Jesus and exploring the relevance in our own lives today. Enjoy!
  9. It is my personal observation that a very large percentage of Christians leave Christ's Great Commission to their church leadership (staff & volunteers). One of the reasons might be they need 'tools' that can be used to answer Biblical Questions. In that vain, I've created a series of videos under this Topic Title. The first video could be used to answer a question that I hear a lot from non-believers. That question is: "How can a loving God allow murder, rape, etc." The video is 10 minutes long. I hope that you find it useful to strengthen you and to help you share with non-believers. It is at the following link. [media=] SamS
