  1. I used to go without fail. Then illness meant i stopped for several weeks. Instead i read my bible daily, pray and do my own study and prayer. I make time for it and treasure it. Now i find myself asking, do i really want or need to go to church on Sundays? I found people there irritating and tedious. I was always rushing to get there, being roped in for various duties and being ignored and sidelined for other roles that i would have loved. The pastor was a pompous man, not inspiring, just did his job. I sat next to people who fidgeted, were ignorant and closed minded about God's Word. They chatted as if it was a social club. I was growing fast as a passionate Christian but getting little support. I enjoyed the hymns best and preaching kind of. I never felt the pastor truly spoke it from the heart. Now i think - who needs it? I don't. How was all that bringing me nearer to God? I prefer to have a leisurely get up on a sunday. Pray. Read Bible in the bathroom while my bath runs. Pray as i bathe - why not? Prepare a nice early roast and be all relaxed listening to hymns or watching 'Songs of Praise' later instead of a rushed mad thing! Enjoy my Sabbath. So, my motivation to attend church has gone. I intend only to go for special occasions. Am i wrong? Is it God's command to collectively worship? Or is that just a personal choice?
  2. this was a day i will never ever forget this is the day that Jesus was resurrected from the grave , i was watching at our church the part where they beat and whipped Jesus Christ with the 9 tails whip one of the worse parts to watch but this is what all he did for us all so we wouldn't have to bare the burdens and pain that he did he says if you just cry out to me i will answer you my child and i believe that even tho sometimes i don't think he is even with me because of pain and sickness which i know that this could be a way he is working through me for those that are suffering through their pain and sickness i just offer it up to the one and only Jesus Christ, my risen King , my healer and my comforter and almighty God over all the earth... i have asked him to take certain things from my life and i am not in as much pain anymore , Praise God but i still want it completely gone so i don't have to ever do through it again , Jesus Christ is everything to me and even more
  3. Hello everyone. I had a wonderful time in church yesterday, and decided to share my note here... i hope you enjoy it and learn from it. Note: I will just outline points. Text: Prov. 22:6, Isa. 54:13 - Nothing is automatic or accidental when it comes training a child. We make things happen and things do happen for a reason. III John 4. - The greatness of a child determines the achievements of the parents. You can't call a parent successful if their children are not doing well. Your success always reflects in your fruit. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARENT 1 Lay a good foundation : Children are express image of our character (as parents). To train up my child in the right way, i must work on my character. and this means anything you don't want in the life of your children should not be in your life. 2. Teach them to be unique, that imitators are always limited 3. What you do speak louder than what you say. Lead by example, for example... you shouldn't ask them to always study their bible, or read their academic books when they see you never study. Every once in a while, leave whatever you are doing and join them in study... including their academic books. 4. Foolishness is part of the nature of a child. Prov. 66:6 5. Teach them how to deal with the Adamic nature. Teach them to overcome the Adamic nature, and this means you must have dealt with this nature in yourself too. 6. There should be no other human who can teach your children better than you. 7. Teach them to meditate and stand on the word of God 8. Teach them to know God, to know the nature of God. And let them understand that they are God's (belong to God) and are created in His image. That regardless of whatever anyone says about them, they should always learn to locate what God says about them in the scripture. 9. Teach them to be independent... to make money. 10. Teach them about perseverance, hope, faith, and patience 11. Teach them to be responsible and respectful 12. Teach them to cherish integrity and righteousness 13. Teach them to be skillful and smart so, that's the basic summary... i hope it is helpful to someone. Comments are welcome. Thank you.
