  1. It's my first ever Thanksgiving without my mom. Praise God-she is still alive. But a brain injury prevents us from even talking on the phone. I can't drive to her. So I will love her from afar. Missing her bunches- but choosing to rejoice in Jesus on this day which should be about being thankful. I have very little family left. But I'm thinking how rough it must be to have nobody alive or in a not speaking to each other /dysfunctional family. Worst case scenario- being without loved ones and not having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are in those situations, this poem is for you: Remember The Lonely (A Thanksgiving Day Poem) Holidays are often a family affair A time of food and gatherings In which we love and share But sadly, there are people Who have no loved ones there Feeling down and lonely, They need someone to care So let us all remember To keep these folks in prayer. Let us pray they will come to see God loves them... For those who have the Lord in their lives are never truly alone.
  2. Thanksgiving Day 2018 will be arriving this Thursday. Please join me in posting at least 5 things you are especially thankful for this year. Here are mine: 1) Salvation and forgiveness God offers me through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Nothing is more precious than this! John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” 2) The holy scriptures John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." 3) Freedom of religion Sadly, so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world suffer prison, torture and death. Our persecution in free countries usually amounts to little more than being teased about our Christianity. 4) My family I had wonderful Christian grandparents and parents. They have gone on to be with the Lord now except for my mother. I am blessed with two children and a grandson who are all so special to me. 5) The miracle of my mom. I treasure her. She was not expected to live beyond one month (after an anoxic brain injury she suffered on March 9th.) Here it is 8 months later! God alone knows our futures. Over these months, she has pulled through many serious challenges. Each one is a testimony to His goodness, His mercy and His power. She remains in delicate condition but continues on, as He wills. 6) I believe prayer has helped. Thanks to all of you who have (and continue to) hold Mom up in prayer. 7) God's daily provisions. 8) Christian music. 9) The Presence of God. 10) WCF... The ability to post and read others posts, fellowship with believers from all over the world, support (prayer, comfort & edification) and new friendships formed. I have been here since 2007 but this one has been my best year yet. HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!
  3. Matthew 3:11 - "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire." OH, HOLY SPIRIT....OH, FIRE! THAT SO INTIMATELY AND TENDERLY PENETRATES THE FIBRE AND CORE OF MY SOUL.....CLEANSE ME, BURN IN ME, WITH YOUR PASSION FOR CHRIST! John 5:44 - "How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?" We need to decide if we are going to let all of the previous wounds and disappointments determine who we are, or if we are going to be like Christ, using the Cross to determine who we are, seizing the occasion to die to ourselves and rise above this world and live in resurrection power. We cannot be resurrected unless we have first died. Observation: I KNOW I AM RELATING CORRECTLY TO GOD WHEN MY HUNGER FOR HIS GLORY CAUSES ME TO FORSAKE THE PRAISE OF MEN. "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place." - 2 Corinthians 2:14 God lives among the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). As we praise God we sense His presence and in His presence there is fullness of joy. Praise is a powerful spiritual weapon as it changes the atmosphere around us. In the Scriptures we read how the walls of Jericho came crashing down, giving victory to God's people due to the Israelites releasing shouts of praise(Joshua 6:20). In Acts 16:25-26, we read that the prison doors shook open when Paul and Silas prayed and praised God. Praise lifts our eyes from the battle to the victory, for Christ has already won the victory. We are more thanconquerors in Christ Jesus. It is the will of God for us to rejoice in Him no matter what comes. As we rejoice in God, we release joy to others. Rest in Him and praise Him in the storm. He is the God of the impossible and He is working all things for your good. Join your heart toHis and allow His love to give you strength. "You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever." - Psalm 16:11 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  4. Romans 5:5 - "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us." Observation: ACTING IN LOVE WHEN OTHERS ARE NOT ACTING IN LOVE TOWARD ME - THIS IS THE HIGHEST VALUE TO MY SOUL. LOVE IS THE PATH ON WHICH I WALK AS CLOSELY AS IS POSSIBLE TO THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY LIVING IN THE LIFE ETERNAL. THE MORE I FOLLOW LOVE THE MORE MY OLD SELF IS CONSUMED AND DIES. Galatians 5:22 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith." Proverbs 18:21 - "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Affirmation:I SPEAK GOD'S WORDS CONTINUALLY, AND THEN WATCH THE HOLY SPIRIT BLAST THE MOUNTAINS OF OBSTACLES OUT OF MY WAY. Psalm 77:12 - "I will meditate also of all Thy work, and talk of Thy doings." What I think about the most will grow the strongest in me. Joshua 1:8 - "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night." "Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." - Ephesians 5:20 Thankfulness takes the sting out of adversity. That is why He has instructed us to give thanks for everything. There is an element of mystery in this transaction: You give Him thanks (regardless of your feelings), and He gives you Joy (regardless of your circumstances). This is a spiritual act of obedience—at times, blind obedience. Thankfulness opens your heart to His Presence and your mind to His thoughts, enabling you to see from His perspective. It is this Light of His Presence that removes the sting from adversity. "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." - Psalm 118:1 "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord." - Psalm 89:15 ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY
  5. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. - 1 Peter 1:3Sometimes our life seems to spiritually become foggy and we lose sight of what really matters. Pressures, trials, circumstances come in like weeds crowding out the very purpose and reason why we exist. When we lose sight of the cross, when we begin to lose our desire to praise and thank the Lord, we can know that we are failing to really focus on the matter of first importance. Christ was the one that became flesh, who shared our humanity. He suffered and died, and God resurrected him. He is our hope, our sure foundation, our mighty fortress, our promise of eternal life. Our response must be praise, thanksgiving, a singing of hallelujah. As St. Peter opened his epistle with "praise" we should also begin each day with praise to our God.There is a wonderful chorus that goes: "Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, Ha-Hallelujah, Ha-Hallelujah, Ha-Hallelujah, Ha-Hallelujah, Ha-Hallelujah." Take time even now while reading this short mediation to praise Jesus, He is longing for your adoration. Look again to the cross, see its beauty and glory. Glorify the risen saviour who paid so much for you. Thank Him who died for you. Heaven will be filled with praise and thanksgiving. God is looking for worshippers in the work of the Lord. It has been noted by godly men that we sing songs about God but our need is to sing worship to Him. Jesus deserves and desires this attention and focus. God alone our goal and sight. Look to Him today, take time to praise Him. This will be our heavenly occupation, enjoy it now.
  6. Luke 1:28 - "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women." Ephesians 1:6 - "To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." The word "freely given" or "accepted" in Ephesians 1:6 (The Greek word - charitooJust as Mary was used is talking about every born again believer being accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6 Mary was the one person on earth who was chosen to "bring forth the Son of God"; and she was called highly favored and beloved of the Lord. Luke 1:28. in "Highly favored" is the same word used for )to bring forth the Son of God, so also, we will be used to bring forth the Son of God in all His Glory. Luke 1:35,38 - "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And Mary said, 'Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.'" We need to ask Him for a release of divine hunger that will drive us deeper into Him. Like Mary it is simply through intimacy, engaging the realm of heaven, and declaring what we see and hear that brings heaven to earth. The deposit of heaven that will rest on us after engaging the revelatory realm will simply overflow and people will be filled with the Holy Spirit. - "Gather My godly ones to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice. I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine. Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the 23,14,Psalm 50:11 The terms of covenant are simple: we pledge to thank Him and adore Him in everything; He pledges to shine forth from our lives in the perfection of beauty. It is a sacrifice of thanksgiving, for it will cost us to praise Him when we hurt. But to do so is part of our healing and the beginning of our salvation. This covenant of thanksgiving is the key which shuts and bolts the door to demonic oppression in a person's life. Most High; he who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; and to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God." Affirmations: MY LIFE HAS NO OTHER PURPOSE THAN TO FOLLOW HIM AND MAKE HIM KNOWN. I HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED BY GOD TO REPRESENT JESUS IN THE WORLD. I REPRESENT CHRIST IN ANY GIVEN SITUATION. NOTHING EVER GETS BIGGER IN MY CONSCIOUSNESS THAN MY AWARENESS OF GOD'S PRESENCE UPON ME. ALBERT FINCH MINISTRY

  8. Ok, I know this isn't a "christian" band or song, so mods if you think its innapropriate feel free to delete it, but I think its a song we as christians need to listen to. I think, we as christians in america-me included in this, have had a tendency to take things for granted as of recently, and we tend to complain about things that we really shouldn't, and this song really spoke to me that we need to be grateful for what we got-not just on thanksgiving, but any time. So here we go, the band The Farm performing Be grateful. http://youtu.be/N4iKvQCWjwI
  9. Happy Thanksgiving All! Have a blessed time feasting with family and friends. Eat some bird and pie for me! I will be away again overseas and will miss out.
