I'm trying to find bible verses that warn people against being "too clever by half"/ "oversmart"/"overly proud about their craftiness" For example, Job 5:13 is one example, and part of it is reused in a rephrased manner in 1 Corinthians 3:19-20 (Job 5:13) “He captures the wise by their own shrewdness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted. (1 Corinthians 3:19-20) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.” Another verse that is remotely related might be (1 Corinthians 8:1b) .......Knowledge makes arrogant..... However, could someone please respond by posting some more verses that warn people against being "too clever by half"/ "oversmart"/"overly proud about their craftiness"?

Hi Everyone, I haven't been on here in awhile.... but I wanted to share this with you all.... you can take it to the Lord in prayer for discernment. I had been on a 90 day challenge of praying in the Spirit for one hour everyday. On March 25, after praying I wanted to ask the Lord if He wanted to tell me anything so I sat and waited, and this is what He gave me. I have heard from Him many times but I hadn't sat still long enough in a long time. I also write down what I hear in my spirit. So this is what I heard and I know I need to sound the alarm. I pray that you have ears to hear and eyes to see..... I don't claim to be a prophet but I just humbly ask that you read and take it to the Lord as to what you are to do with this. Thank you... Daughter, go about your business, keep busy, prepare, for a day of reckoning is coming. Be ever in My Presence. You will find peace and joy in the midst of disaster. There is joy in the LORD. Watch, pray, be MY Light. Great shaking coming Prepare. Trust in Me, do not doubt! My Power will be displayed to wake up the sleeping giant (The Church). THERE WILL BE BLOODSHED. WAR! Take shelter in Me. Do not look to the world, it will not save you. Hear My Voice My People! I AM COMING! I AM COMING! I AM COMING! Then this came the next day..... You know in your heart what to do. Meditate on MY WORD. feast upon it, it will give you strength to endure what is coming. My provision will come at the right time (finances to complete an assignment) You are to walk by faith and not by sight. There is danger coming, the wicked will not prevail. Manifestations are coming, manifestations of My Glory. Take heed My child, much deception. Encourage others. You will soon see Me, coming in My Glory. So please brothers and sisters and any unbelievers out there, prepare for the King is coming! Let us not be found being slothful but going about our Father's business! It was only by the grace of God that I escaped from getting more heavily involved.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To others here at Worthy, I thought to post this, as it is a small part of my past. When I was 9 years old, I received a Ouija board “game” for Christmas. A few years later, I had asked the Ouija board “What works you, God?” ( I had no idea who God was at the time...) The planchette flew off of the board... I was determined to find out what “power” was behind this and placed the planchette back on the board, repeating the question: “What works you, God?” It quickly moved to the word “No.” Repeating the question yet one more time, it paused, and answered truthfully: “Live, now backwards.” (EVIL) It frightened me a bit, I knew it had answered truthfully, and I tossed it in the Parker Brothers “game” into the trash. I now refer to it for what it truly is, a “demonic witch board.” With this “Ouija movie” grossing 50 million in the US alone, it shows the interest in the occult continuing to grow here, and abroad. Christians, don't be fearful, reach out to those involved with the occult as we would with any other lost with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, calling on their repentance of these and other sins that all have committed before a righteous and holy God!

please note this is just a question i am asking and this is something my sister in law is going through with her 18 Year old son freah out of High school this is a Christian boy , and she is having a hard time keeping him from playing Tour of Duty a very bloody and graphic game that is in No Way glorifying to God , i have tried to explain to him this is not What we are to be entertaining ourselves with , blood , guts , gore , death . Fyi this was the very game that 21 year old man played right before he loaded up his gun and shot dead the Children and teachers in Sandy hook . Please if your a teen or a young adult that plays this game , please refrain from replying to this question , i want help from Adult Christians that can help me with helping my family , I dont want replies on how we should compromise with such graphic and evil virtual games for children or teens . Robert is my Nephews name he needs prayers for intervention hes driving his mom about mad they all are Christian and shes finding him up all night with head gear and speaker and playing this awful violent game till 6 am in the morning !
