Off and on over the years since i was born again at age 36 in 1980 i have heard arguments for and against absolute meticulous literal interpretation of Scripture. Had one person who was a somewhat preterist give me an article to look at. What i liked about it was that it gave a very literal interpretation of <Matthew 24> and etc. re how part was truly fufilled [ASSUMING secular history is to be trusted] by Titus' destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. But then they did what you just did Brad and said the very non-literal symbology of other Scripture applied. You and those interpreting Scripture that way may be correct.
