The Bible treats Genesis as completely historical. Adam and Eve represent the first humansAdam and Eve WERE the first humans and were created from the dust in God's image. fruit represents the sin of humanity.It doesn't "represent" anything. That is symbolism you are assigning to the text, unless you can provide Scriptural corroboration. The truth of the texts lies in the lesson and not in the accuracy of literal events. If these events in Genesis cannot be trusted as accurate, how do you know the rest of what the Bible says is accurate? We need redemption because humanity sins. How do you know humanity sins?
