My uncle has this really old book that contains what he say is the lost books of Mose. I've read some of the pages in this book and it seems more like a spell book to me. Do anyone know anything about the lost books of Mose? My brother is in really big trouble with the law and my uncle wants me to sent my brother a couple of pages that he copied out of this book. I haven't done it because it seems to me as I said before a big of spells... that can't be of God. What do any of you think.... do you know about these missing books of Mose? :(

God's blessing toward you and yours

Jacqueline, you're spot on that it's a "spell" book. Your brother is in enough trouble w/out getting into the occult as well. I found the following info in Wikipedia.

The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses is an 18th or 19th century magical text allegedly written by Moses, and passed down as hidden (or lost) books of the Five Books of Moses or Pentateuch. A grimoire, a text of magical incantations and seals, it purports to instruct the reader in the spells used to create the miracles portrayed in the Christian Bible. The work was printed with annexes or reputed Talmudic magic names, words and incantation, many taken from Christian biblical passages. It shows diagrams of "Seals": magical drawings accompanied by incantations intended to perform tasks from controlling weather or people, to contacting the dead or Christian religious figures. Copies have been traced to 18th century German pamphlets, but an 1849 printing, aided by the appearance of the popular press in the 19th century, spread copies through Germany and Northern Europe, to German immigrants in the United States, to the African American South and Caribbean, and Anglophone West Africa. It influenced European Occult Spiritualism, as well as popular religious movements in the American South (Hoodoo), the Caribbean (Rastafarian), and West Africa.

Hi Jacqueline,

There is no Truth outside of the 66 books that compile our One Bible.

Previous posters gave great answers. There is a lot of that "Lost missing books" conspiracy lies out there. Satan does what he can to discredit God in any way that he can.

Perhaps look just to give him a small New Testament instead, and keep him and your uncle in prayer to see the Truth found in Jesus Christ alone.

Great test for your brother and uncle: http://www.NeedGod.com

.... My brother is in really big trouble with the law and .... sent my brother a ....

Bible!

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timotly 3:15-17

I know of a lot of extra-Biblical books, but I have never heard of the ones you are asking about.

I found a web-site that had the text of this "lost book." It kept refering to conjuring up angels. There were also references to magic, including black magic. I would stay away from this book.

Believer, I think I have to take exception to that part about there is no Truth outside the 66 books of the bible.

While I would totally agree with you that he should avoid these two books, it's not because they are just a book of lies. If they were just a book of lies, they would be pretty much harmless. Conjuring up demons is not something to take lightly..... and definitely not something to be playing around with.

I would say that everything we need to know about God and how to plan a good retirement with him is in the 66 books of the Bible, but you can find some truth even in the New York Times.
