Guest JesusFlower
I heard a prophecy of famine on Sunday. That as nations go off to war over their own selfish desires, God will smite the West until repentance reigns in the land. Beef supplies will dry up. Pigs will die. No water. Have any of yuou heard abou this? I want to verify.

It that is it you are entirely wrong. This war to come is going to cost in the millions maybe trillions after the reconstruction of the government there. Saying we are in this for the oil doesn't play in the face of reality. Taking care of the Iraqi people by rescuing them from this evil murdering dictator is in my opinion a very righteous thing to do. I believe that is the Just Cause, not just WMD, and even if Saddam does give up those weapons, we still need to free the Iraqi people.

Guest JesusFlower
I don't think the prophecy was intended to support Iraq. I think if you go with that prophecy, then you are assuming that non-western places are already being judged. Or maybe the things in the Sudan, Iraq, etc. are God's hand at work. And the West is presumptuous in thinking it can correct God's judgement. Or maybe it was an invalid prophecy. Which is the direction I'm leaning. I believe {or suspect} that the purpose of God is to open doors to the Iraqis and other Muslim countries to the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they, too can be saved... This is our golden opportunity to witness to the lost people in Iraq and to share the gospel with them....amen? As long as tyrants such as Saddam Hussein remain in power, there's no chance of that happening... :a:
