That's so true. Religious "psychology" has diverted the Church from Christ and Him crucified to religious humanism.

Speak for yourself. My church is a Jesus loving, bible based force in our community. And we grow every day.

Yours is probably an independent, local church, fez. Here in the U.S. so many have become 'Megachurches' and have become more and more PC. They are run like corporations and are all 'inclusive'. That doesn't mean all of them of course. The church you describe is what a church should be; you are lucky to have one like that. I left my last church because of what it had become; all about activities, rodeos, movies, games.....heck, I can do those things at the carnival. :emot-hug:

I don't believe Parker was addressing anyone's particular church, or even referencing to their own self.

I relieve Parker was simply addressing the movement away from preaching against sin, defining righteousness and obedience with fruit unto holiness, towards the sedating of the conscious convictions of sin with a message of tolerance and acceptance.

God is not tolerant of sin, nor does He accept sinners without their repentance.

There comes a time when a nation has gone beyond the determine limits of God's longsuffering and enters into His judgment.

I for one will say that America has so done.

Re 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

When I read the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and other documents and letters from our founders, I truly see God inspired men. They wrote about freedom, fairness and equallity that can only come from God. History books can be changed or led in any direction of the times, but when you read a document that was held in the hands of the author you can really see what they mean. It's just like when critics say the Bible is not accurate and someone digs up another copy a thousand years older than the previous and finds that nothing is changed.

People can argue about America being a christian nation back and forth, what I know is that God's hand has been upon this nation and is now starting to come off and until we have some God inspired leadership and repentance, His hand will not cover America again. Remember Nineveh in the book of Jonah, they repented and were spared from God's wrath. Thomas Jefferson wrote," I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that his justice cannot sleep forever.".

These are the exhortations of God's word for believers, as well as the exhortation to all men who would walk uprightly with God in this world in the countries wheresoever they are born.

Ro 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Tit 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

1Pe 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God.
Honour the king.

These thing were written to the church at a time when the powers that be were becoming hostile towards the church.

However, what we do know, is that when it comes to being preachers of righteousness, proclaimers of the Gospel, we must obey God rather than men.

Ac 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

Ac 5:27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

What then is an acceptable scriptural foundation for the revolt of the settlers against the King of England that would keep the birth of this nation (America) from one rooted in rebellion to the righteous precepts of scriptures?

No, and I can't read your's either. That is why I asked the question.

For me, it's simple, you don't get cucumbers from tomato seeds.

You know the tree by the roots.

But I am still interested in hearing another scriptural view, so why don't you tell us yours?

I don't know how to answer your question. Or even what you are looking for. That's why I asked for your answer to your own question. :b:

What I am looking for is simply what was asked, "What is an acceptable scriptural foundation for the revolt of the settlers against the King of England . . . "

If I knew of a scriptural answer I would give it, but I do not.

But with the wide acceptance of many that this is/was a Christian nation founded by God, I would expect there would be some scriptural justification.

To me, this is the verse that describe America's conception -

Re 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and
the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Such is the way the dragon's kingdom came into being . . . rebellion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
