This reminds me of the "Dating Game". Groups have tried to set dates for the Second Coming contrary to Scripture (Acts; Gospels). Any guesses of the identity of the A.C. are sheer capital "S" speculation. We should be as concerned about the spirit of the antichrist at work in the world. There is also a tendency to read modern events back into Scripture making anything seem to fit and prophetically significant (eisogesis).

We need to practice sound biblical interpretation (exegesis= taking meaning out of the text, not reading it back into the text) and be careful not to twist Scriptures to fit our ideas. I concur that Charles would be highly unlikely (is not the A.C. of Jewish descent?) as well as Kissinger, the Pope, and dozens of others suggested. However, perhaps it is not wrong to have our spiritual radar antennas up to discern the times, events, and persons. Being of a pre-mill., pre-trib. perspective, I suspect current believers might not be here to see the clear revealing of the A.C.

Prophecy is fascinating but it boils down to two main truths (wisdom):

1) Know that the King and Lord will return (perhaps today), but is patient not wanting anyone to perish.

2) Occupy until He does return (live like it is your last day on earth, but plan to be here a lifetime= buy life insurance for your family).

Agreed, GR. It's tempting to contemplate though. On another thread, one person  explained how King Abdullah of Jordan looks like a potential candidate for the AC title.

But you're right...the concern should be focused on the spirit of AntiChrist - which is everywhere.

In Matthew there is a verse which says that in the end times, many people will become offended and will hate and betray one another.

I see that so often within Christianity. There does seem to be a spirit of AntiChrist, GR. It's a tabloid mentality where people  seem to get a thrill playing self-appointed critic - and 'everyones' a critic these days.  In fact, it's become some folks chief occupation.

Truly, the Body of Christ should be more intent on  building "up" the Body, instead of bringing everyone  "down" and causing division within the ranks.

Joyce Meyers once said, "Everybody looks at others with a magnifing glass but they look at "themselves" with rose-colored glasses."

The spirit of Antichrist must surely be not only a spirit of disbelief but also one which fosters pride, legalism and slanderous allegation.  It creates a terrible rift and gross division amongst brothers and that's what Satan's aim is, undoubtedly.

While it is intriguing to consider  the major players on the world stage, you make an excellent point, Godrulz...the spirit of the Antichrist is already here.
