Question regarding the 3 1/2 years of great tribulation which Christ spoke of, says that the end times will be shortened for the elects sake or no flesh will be saved. Does this mean God is going to intervene before the 3.5 years of great tribulation ends. Meaning that the great tribulation is not going to last 3.5 years or it could mean that God is going to rapture the Church before the end of the 3.5 years while Gods wrath is poured out on the Anti-Christ and his followers. Whats your take?

Mat 24:21-22 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Hi Jedi4Yahweh,

I think most people get the time of trouble (tribulation) mixed up with the days to the end of these wonders. Jesus pointed us back to Daniel, which gives us the timeline. However, the tribulation or time of trouble is not the same as the time remaining to the end, as many assume. The time of trouble (tribulation) is contained within the last 3 1/2 years. In other words, the time of the end will continue as the days are numbered to the time of the end, beginning at the abomination of desolation. But there will also be a time within that alloted time, that is so frightening, that has not been seen since there was a nation and will never be seen again. This is the time when all nations will be gathered against Jerusalem, and God, Himself, will put a stop to them and glorify Himself, but the time to the end will still remain. I believe it is referring to Armageddon and you can read about it in Ezek. 38/39 as well. So it is a time of trouble that has never been witnessed before, but the end of the age will still end at the appointed time.

And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. [12] Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. Daniel 12:11-12 (KJV)

Just perusing threw the threads and saw this one went dead on Dec 13 with the posting of this verse from Daniel 12. To bring this one into play really does give one pause to wonder why all of the "tribulation" teachings do not address this verse? As it is most certainly linked to the "abomination that makes desolate." ??
