Although flawed, individuals can "still see God in other people" and help others to find "their own grace."

Universalism

"So that's what I strive to do. That's what I pray to do every day," Obama said. "I think my public service is part of that effort to express my Christian faith."

Is this the "Christian faith" you learned from Rev. Wright?

Despite his personal beliefs, Obama said, he believes that the "bedrock strength" of the country is its embrace of many faiths, and also of no faith.

"That book [bible], sir, is the rock on which our republic rests" --Andrew Jackson

Although the country is predominantly Christian,"

Oh NOW you say this...? :bored-1:

we have Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists," he said. Their own "path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own."

Universalism again.

Sounds more like universalism to me.

Lots of folks say they are Christian - does it make it so?

Is Obama producing Christian fruit keeping with repentance?

1. Obama wholeheartedly supports the homosexual agenda.

2. Obama is the most pro-abortion President we've ever had.

3. Obama says that all religions lead to God.

Etc.

Could any of us here, who call ourselves Christians, do ANY of those things?

I believe the President when he talks about his Christian faith and I feel that he believes what he says. I'm not for the 'all paths lead to God' idea though and President Obama sounds more like his predecessor every day. I wonder if leaders are trying to dialogue with EVERYONE when they say things like this. President Bush said many times that muslims worshipped the God of Abraham and that islam is a religion of peace; did he really believe that? My guess would be a resounding 'no'!

He has said his beliefs about Jesus are from Jeremiah Wright. Wright believes in Black Liberation theology, a false gospel. His so called Christian faith is deceptive.

A politician says what is necessary to be rewarded by humans. The aim of each one of us is to be rewarded by God and not humans. If as president Obama is doing a good job or not will be shown when the votes are casted. However our vote goes to others as a protest rather than as agreeing with them. You may vote republican as a protest to Obama but that does not necessarily make you a republican.

Better stick to God.

Blessings

Pr 14:34

¶ Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Ps 107:34

A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

Pr 29:2

¶ When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

These things are true....in the sense that God wants things to be that way. But when have we ever had a righteous leader? In fact, I'm thinking through history and all the leaders that pop into my head, anywhere in the world and.....not a righteous one among them. I don't believe we will have such a leader until Jesus sets up his Millennial Kingdom.

The men who set up this Nation were men who looked to God.

God asked Abraham to be Holy and to walk before Him. Abraham lacked the perfect Righteousness to do so as well. However, when he looked to God he was enabled.

Here's what the Lord has said;

2Ch 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The current leadership we have in this Nation are far from righteousness. They look to man and not to God for guidance and that is the whole point.

peace,

dave
