Look at what you all have been up to since I was away on my birthday trek with my lovely bride! :t2:

I will join Called, LadyC, and BobTriez as those who believe in OSAS and were still in my sins.

I was deceived even though I was at church every week and had all the people I saw fooled.

When God opened my eyes to my sin and rebellion (I was deep in porn and self-abuse among others), I repented and was baptized into Christ and have found the freedom *FROM* my sins that Jesus was named Yeshua for in the first place (Matthew 1:21).

There is a difference between saved while still in sin and saved from sin.

I dont think so.

I asked Jesus into my heart once, then I said goodbye.

According to many Christians, theres no way im getting into Heaven these days.

Chazy.

Let me put it this way,

In order to receive forgivness from God, we must forgive other people when they wrong us.

The Lord's (disciples) prayer in Matthew and many other passages clearly spell this out.

People, if your focus is on your works or rightousness, you may already be deceived.

And if you think that God's grace is license to sin, your probably are already deceived.

We need to find and maintain that balance of knowing how much God hates our sins and how much He loves us. When we do, we will hate our sins and love God more, and then we can have 100% full assurance of salvation.

There is a reason why the Scriptures warn us of falling away and ending up in the lake of fire, and there is a reason why the Scriptures tell us how secure we are.

Because both are true.

God won't forsake you, but you can forsake God.

Thank you, Jesus!!! :t2:

why did you say goodbye littlelady? i'm not being facetious here, there are many of us who would really like to understand why someone would know Jesus and then choose to reject Him. please share your experience with us.

If CHRIST has not done as HE also taught. Then every sin that you commited from the time you heard about CHRIST including however many years after you heard and rejected HIM is still at your Charge. If this is the case Then you are Lost without hope. CHRIST taught us to do as he does.

I struggled many years with sin. I wept bitterly some times begging the LORD to fix me or Kill me. But he is righteous in giving to those who ask.

Luke 11:

7 and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'?

8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.

9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?

12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

So don't give up everyone who has trouble with sin. Keep asking keep praying. Ask the LORD for help. The LORD will not forsake you.

In CHRIST JESUS

I would like to comment on this passage that was offered early in the debate. Notice is starts by saying "it is imossible to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened..." why? Because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross again..."

Shiloh,

I responded to this a couple of pages ago:

Actually, if you read it a little closer (and read a few good comemntaries) what it means is this:

They cannot be brought back to repentance while they are still continuing in their sin. You gotta repent of your sins before being restored.

(This is also what the footnote in my NIV says.)

Not only that, but also the literal translations of the Bible. YLT is the most obvious.

Young's Literal Translation

You can do a search and read it for yourself.

why did you say goodbye littlelady? i'm not being facetious here, there are many of us who would really like to understand why someone would know Jesus and then choose to reject Him. please share your experience with us.

I was apparently every Mothers dream kid until I hit high school (hard to imagine huh?).

I went to Church camp, my Mom was my best friend, I had decent grades... I was a bookworm, volunteer, girlscout, athlete, and I dreamed of becoming a Doctor.

Then I got to high school which was great for me socially, but I got caught in the hussle and bustle of a school with 4,000 people.

I barely passed all my courses and my stepdad left and moved to the US (which wasnt such a big deal to me... enter my disgusting apathy).

Grade 10 rolled around and I finally began to get annoyed at my father who always called when he was drunk or high (during that divorce when I was 4, he was given the choice of AA or me and he refused to go to AA... so my Mom and I moved to Toronto).

I failed some courses in Grade 10, was having attention problems, the classes I didnt fail I got 50s in and I found solace in rock and metal bands.

I began to self-injure that year, and I started reflecting my mood on my clothes.

Long story short, everything bad happened and simply waking up in the mornings was the worst part of my day because I wasnt dead. My last year of Bible camp wasnt a good one, because I was the odd kid out (no one talks to the Goth unless they are trying to "convert" them) and the councellors were annoyed at my skepticism. I started thinking that in reality, the chance of an all-powerful being was pretty unlikely. Id pray, something good would happen and id think "hey, maybe there IS a God".

Eventually the misery outweighed the happiness.

Too many Christians started to annoy me by continuing to try to help me "find God" when I didnt want their help. I could tell they were judging me.

My Mom became the worst, and still is. I try to be open-minded, and she always says "support your own!" when I learn about other religions. I am constantly being ranted at about believing in a God that I think is either non-existant or really mean.

Id probably get edited for mentioning some of the things Im into these days, but I like myself in some really weird on-again, off-again way. That probably doesnt make sense to you considering it doesnt really make sense to me.

Im currently very happy with my religion (Agnostic), because it has no defining lines. It doesnt try to tell me that there IS a God or that there ISNT. There are no rules, codes, judgements. Im comfortable where I am, and at times just a little bitter at everyone else. Anyways ive basically written a book and I dont think you got anything out of it except that I like to rant and complain.

Chazy.

When Christ died on that cross, He paid the price of all our sins, past, present and future.

Where does the Bible say that? Does that mean I never have to repent and I can just sin all I want, since Jesus has already paid the price?

great question! :t2: can you believe we actually agree on something? :)

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?

Rom 6:2 Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

Rom 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under Law, but under grace? Let it not be!

Rom 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to him whom you obey; whether it is of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness.

Rom 6:17 But thanks be to our God that you were the slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

Rom 6:18 Then being made free from sin, you became the slaves of righteousness.

These passages tells us plainly, do not continue on the sinful lifestyle. There are many more that also tell us that grace does not give us a license to sin.
