Baroque and Classical.... I'm sure that counts... Although by Baroque I really mean Bach and I couldn't honestly say he wrote secular music. And Chopin! That's getting a little bit more modern... Listing all the artists would take a lot of time and thought. Here's a very abridged version: Favorite secular genres: rock (all kinds, all periods, including metal and punk), jazz, blues, reggae, classical. Some favorite secular artists, in no particular order: Christopher Tin (a modern classical composer), Cab Calloway, Leonard Cohen, Joan Jett, the White Stripes, Alison Krauss, Leo Kottke, Ry Cooder, Yo-yo Ma. I also like Jesus culture, Jake Hamilton, Jason upton. Because of my past, (the bar scene) secular music brings back some bad memories.

But can't take country of any kind and am very picky with southern gospel. Opera makes my ears bleed and Elvis is simply torture.

If it does not glory Jesus, then Christians have no business listening to it. God saved me from that mess. My opinion here. I once felt this way. Then I went back into the old music and the old ways. Then I repented. Back on track. The old songs still strike a familiar chord and do bring back memories best left alone. Good points, my friend.
