Defense Secretary Panetta announced on Friday that June is LGBT Pride Month in the DoD. It is one thing to tolerate LGBT by repealing the don’t ask don’t tell policy. It something else to ENDORSE homosexuality. And that is what they are doing.

http://www.advocate.com/politics/milita ... ride-month

There are no details yet about how the LGBT Pride month will be celebrated, but I can hazard a guess as a DoD employee. There will be advocacy events staged on military bases all over the world, with hundreds of military and civilian service members assigned to organize and run them. This will send a clear message to all our forces, and to all of the countries worldwide where we operate: The US thinks homosexual activity is GOOD, so wonderful in fact, that we need to set aside one month a year to celebrate it.

And you the taxpayer will pay for it ALL.

This move raises questions about free speech rights. Will uniformed military be permitted to speak out against LGBT Pride? Will their careers be hurt if they do? As a DoD civilian employee, I also wonder about my rights. Will I be disciplined or fired or passed over for promotion, if I make a stink about it?

This also raises questions about the focus on Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders. Why are we honoring THEM? There are a significant number of uniformed military who faithfully serve their country and who also cheat on their spouses and indulge in porn. When are going to set aside a month for Adultery Pride or Pornography Pride? Of course, this won’t happen because those practices are still viewed as despicable. But there is no honor in evil, no pride in perversion, whatever form it takes. As the Bible declares, as research has revealed, homosexuality is just as bad for relationship health as adultery and pornography. And yet our military and presidential leadership is 100% behind the gay lifestyle. And because your taxes pay for military spending, you are 100% behind it, too.

We live in one of the darkest chapters in US history and are quickly becoming a nation much like Sodom. I am now ashamed of my country and the military I serve.

You make a lot of excellent points, and I understand your frustration completely. I'm one of those Christians who pray for the members of our Armed Forces every day, and many of my neighbors and friends are in the military. I think this is wrong and I don't understand it at all. We all know that only a tiny percentage of people will want to take part in this celebration. I will be curious to find out if there is any forcing to participate in this celebration. We know this is not an accurate representation of our Armed Forces.

TerryWS, life at times can be thought of as a conundrum.

I do not support the life style you have written about, I do not shout it from the street corner, but, I do vote.......As a Christian there are many things done by people of this world that I do not choose to support or indulge in. If told to do something that went against my core value system, I explain that and then I simply say "NO"..Not so easy when some high ranking officer is shouting in one's face...been there....done that....more then once. I few people cried and morned for so long, many people just approved these acts out of sickness of hearing about their so called rights, "Fine" have it your way...When others rights trample on your right, then it is not longer a right but a wrong.

One has to remember that as followers of Jesus Christ, we live in this world, yet, we are not really part of this world...a very hard thing to do at times. I understand your fear having once worked around leaders that bent to every political wind that blew their way. Keep your career, for you need to feed your family, yet, maintain your Heavenly principles above that of these new man made rules. I know these new laws are not the will of God, yet, such things must take place. Remember Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.

May the Grace of God be with you and may God grant to you peace of mind over the foolishness of man.

ICL~~~Dennis

so the military goes from a position of "don't ask, don't tell", which was appropriate because one's choice of sexual partners should be a private matter anyway, to a position of supporting a non-military cause and political agenda, things that the military has long stood against.

i can't even say i saw this coming. maybe i should have, but the military has always been a little more classy than that. and a bit more conservative. i really did not expect to see it go so far south in such a short time span.

I agree. The reason that the military in the past has kept out of this issue is to protect the lives of service members. When members of the armed forces "come out" and start wearing their sexual orientation on their sleeve, we may start hearing of "accidents" and "friendly fire" incidents.

The US military is not a social experiment and they handle equipment that is extremely expense and extremely deadly and they don't need their focus taken off of the task at hand. The higher ups had no business engaging in this. It is really sad.

There was a day when gay people were expelled from the military and rightfully so. Sadly, those days are gone, I guess.

The root of this has nothing to do with homosexuals, it is rampant unbelief and rebellion against God approaching the sort of venomous levels seen at Sodom (ie get out of our way or we will treat you worse)

In the UK David Cameron and some Conservatives are determined to pass a law for 'gay marriage' even though it was not an election issue in the manifesto and the party organisation is warning more people are deserting the party over it than any other issue.

The media is wheeling out for interview the head of the lgbt lobby group Stonewall at every opportunity. No sign of homosexuals who do not particularly want 'gay marriage' or who do not want association with Stonewall, like Times newspaper columnists. There are homosexual historians who do not support the accusational enflamatory approach on the subject by Stonewall or the secular atheists such as Richard Dawkins.

Its not about homosexuals, its about a certain hatred of God and its determined to promote homosexual practice in every sphere of public life and silence all opposition. It does it by accusing those who speak against same sex partnerships as hating homosexuals; in the UK where there are civil partnerships half the homosexual community arent bothered about gay marriage.

yes, it is about a hatred for God. and that's definitely what's at play in the supernatural realm. but in the natural, physical realm, it is homosexuality that is the queen in this game of chess... no pun intended.

In America, it has EVERYTHING to do with homosexuals. They have been the ones clamouring to be allowed to be openly gay in the US military.

No amount of cuddly PR and special days for special groups should be allowed to disguise the real nature of the armed forces. Members of the forces are sent to kill and die by those in power - the use of lethal violence in the interests of worldly politics . No Christian should relinquish the obligation to take decisions about the moral rectitude of their actions. "We were only following orders" is a corrupt response that none of us can use to justify our actions.
