Even scientists who believe in carbon dating will tell you its only accurate up to 10,000 years, and THATS questionable. Most evolutionary scientists who want to date things they think are older then 10,000 years use radio-carbon dating. If someone wants to discredit Genesis with "modern science" they ought to at least do a little research. Science does not discredit Genesis. Missing above is light years and red shift. Somebody mentioned the great site by a Christian astronomer...reasons.org. Long before today's debates Calvin had some great quotes on science and Scripture...see my link above...In the Beginnning...quotes are at the end of the article. If dinosaurs lived and died before Adam, then the Bible is wrong and needs to be tossed into the trash heap, because it clearly teaches death first came into the creation because of Adam's sin of disobedience. Pat is dead wrong. yes, the Bible does teach that. But does it teach that physical death or spiritual death came because of Adam? the day that Adam sinned, did he die physically or spiritually? Yes to both... death physically began in the garden the moment He ate. Spiritual death was immediate as darkness has no fellowship with Light... Both. the day that Adam sinned, did he die physically or spiritually? Again, both. He immediately died spiritually and became separated from God, and also at that instant, he lost his immortality and physically began to die. Just as each day for us is a day closer to our physical deaths.
