At least we had more colour sense. :biggrin2:

This was taken after returning from patrolling Russian waters sometime in1970/1971

I can tell you, three months onboard at sea away from base was a very long time.

I'm not sure why the Iranians thought this was impressive; it's very small and to put it diplomatically....it's just stupid looking.

Don't let the size fool you. Mini subs have been used in the past, but with modern weapons like anti-ship missiles one could do an awful lot of damage with little warning. Might be a suicide mission, but that's not a problem for some out there.

True but.....this sub is hardly on par with American, Israeli and European nuclear subs.

If I am correct they carry two Hoot torpedoes which travel at an approximate speed of 350 km ,

which is faster than a conventional torpedo. (Most probably Russian supplied)

They tested them back in 2006 and again in 2008.

Sina7 because of it's small size and the fact it runs on electricity makes it tricky to locate but of course not impossible.

(info from HM Submariners Forum UK)

As Walla rightly pointed out, suicide missions can do a lot of harm.
