In the middle of the night at a U.N. conference in Dubai, the presiding chairman of the International Telecommunication Union conference surveyed the assembled countries to see whether there was interest in having greater involvement in the U.N. governing the Internet. A majority of countries gave their approval.

The UN regulating the internet is a very, very bad idea.

Keep in mind the agenda of some of the leaders in the UN

2. "The environmental crisis is the cornerstone for the New World Order" Maurice strong ( U.N. environmental leader ) was quoted as saying, " Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?" -- James Garrison ( President of the Gorbachev Foundation ) says " we are going to end up with world government. It's inevitable... There's going to be conflict, coercion and consensus. That's all part of what will be required as we give birth to the first global civilization."

Controlling the Internet would be one more tool for them.

It would also be pretty much impossible.

Difficult but not impossible. The motion picture industry has been working on that through the copyright system for years and much of that doesn't see light of day in the lame stream media. While illegal copies of movies and music is a problem - and stealing is wrong - the industry is using the courts to close down websites through domain name siezures and other legal harassment. There's no reason the same tactics could not be used on a Gospel website once the legal precedents are laid down. It looks like a game of internet "whack a mole" right now because some of the pirate sites get shut down only to pop up elsewhere on the net after a time, but a regulated internet could make that more difficult but probably not impossible.
