While were at it, lets make murder illegal. Wait, it already is, people who kill people dont care about the law, what makes you think theyre going to care about gun laws? and even if you somehow take the gun out of their hand (which is next to impossible) I got news for you, killers dont need guns. hitler used cyanide gas. The taliban used box cutters and airplanes. Timothy Mcveigh used fertilizer. Taking guns out of the hands of the innocent will not cut down on violence. It will just take away our ability to defend ourselves and give an already corrupt government more control. Well, if they follow Hitler's same route it will actually fix this problem...... not too long after he took away the guns from citizens he started rounding up mentally ill people and exterminating them. When there is enough outrage over something, changes seem to come. Look at all the extra security after 9/11. Did it take away "rights"? Absolutely. But that was a tradeoff most people were willing to make in an effort to prevent another 9/11 incident. We'll see if there is enough political will to make things happen now. This style of comment causes people who live in low gun ownership countries to think poorly upon the gun lobby. In Australia we don't have any slaves but only free men who may or may not own a gun. He informed the the assault rifles are merely rifles with extra plastic coverings to make them look mean and nasty. Other rifles are semi-automatic. In fact, several hunters prefer using the "assault rifle" for hunting because of its accuracy. So, it isn't just "an attack weapon"; it is actually one used by legal citizens for legal purposes. Every totalitarian government wants a disarmed populace. Then you are nothing more than a slave easily herded into the waiting boxcar for your trip to the re-education camps...cause that just doesn't happen...right? An unarmed populace is easy to push around, the goal of liberals everywhere. Editor1- Maybe we should all be like Chicago, where they have some of the strictest gun control laws in America, because they have completely eliminated gun violence. /sarc off.
