You can trace American decline to about 1963........

2013 is just a continuation of the agonizing death throes of a nation that tossed God aside.

When prayer was removed from our schools in 1962 (Engel v. Vitale, 1962), this was the beginning of the decline.

With the increasing amount of Tax filing requirements, many rich Americans are taking their wealth elsewhere.

Last year around 1,800 (mostly rich) Americans have renounce their citizenship and around 8,000 are projected to renounce citizenship in 2012. The numbers leaving USA would only increase in the future as the govt and its citizens continue its campaign against the rich.

Here is a good blog why many, especially the rich are leaving America...

http://renounceuscitizenship.wordpress.com/2012/12/13/why-people-are-renouncing-u-s-citizenship-readers-digest-version/

The fiscal cliff and instability of the government at getting the govt financially on track also adds to the problem.

I agree with you and OneLight. The decline isn't just starting now, but can be traced back to around 1962. I don't think there is any turning back for the nation as a whole. The politicians and the judges don't have the will to do the right thing.

The issues, as I see it, is that they do have the will to do the "right thing", but the right thing in their eyes is not what God would consider the right thing. They follow the flesh and not the Spirit. They are doing what they believe is right in their eyes, despite what anyone else says.

I think the real decline started with the new deal under FDR, that's when the first true market socialism was introduced into our economy. Socialism is Godless, just as its father communism, so persecution of Christians and Christian ideals was only a matter of time.

September 1983.

The US Department of Commerce stated that the United States had officially become a debtor nation. From that point forward the American economy begins to circle the drain. We are witness to the greatest transfer of wealth in human history. In the 1950's a family of four could be supported by a single income - the husbands paycheck. Today the stereotypical single income family is a thing of the past.

but that's just me, hollering from the choir loft...

America has never been ready for any great change predictable or otherwise. Even when the signs are clear, most Americans are either trapped into inactivity or persuaded that 'it can't happen here'. When the sun rises on a disaster everyone always asks the same stupid question "how could this happen"? It's so predictable its almost funny.

An American financial collapse could be initiated by a massive military defeat. That's one scenario I'm entertaining. Why?

The most commonly accepted form of monetary exchange has always been gold and silver. We've heard and read that for years. History books record it as far back as anyone knows. Yet our own government is trying to lie to us and claim otherwise.

"Gold is not money."

- Ben Bernanke (Federal Reserve Chairman, July 2011)

Is Mr. Bernanke kidding? I don't think so. Several years ago Congressman Ron Paul, then a member of a congressional committee to supervise the gold reserve, attempted to perform an inventory of American holdings. Just how much of the yellow metal is in Ft. Knox anyway? His efforts were defeated. It seems that congress wasn't interested in knowing - in taking a simple inventory. A couple years later a fellow member of congress tried to repeat Mr. Paul's effort. He failed too. To date, there is no accurate information on the amount of gold held by the United States treasury to back its paper money and bonds. None. Any document you read which states otherwise is a lie.

In fact, there's no gold out there anywhere. It's been mostly bought up by folks who've acquired it as a hedge against inflation. Nations like China have been hoarding it like there's no tomorrow. Do they know something Mr. Bernanke doesn't want the rest of us to know? If the US government has nothing to hide, why are they trying so hard to hide it? Have you visited the jewelry stores this past Christmas season? There's almost no gold jewelry out there at all! Go look for yourself. Oh yes, the sales rep will tell you that the store will gladly order anything you want, but it just isn't there any more. It's too expensive to keep in inventory they'll tell you. Maybe. Or maybe there just isn't that much around.

The USA was once a manufacturing giant. Real wealth comes from what is produced or grown or dug out of the ground. Wealth isn't measured in retail sales or personal debt or national debt. American manufacturing was once legendary. Now American manufactured goods are nearly as rare as gold. Do you see a pattern yet?

The only thing holding American global hegemony together is the thin glue of our military power. But even that is stretched thin. The military is bloated and over extended and the morale of our troops is at an all time low. Combat readiness is so low that a second rate power with decent weapons could wipe us out in an extended conflict. I've talked to returning veterans and they do not tell a pretty picture.

The Russians are now producing a weapon called the Sunburn missile. Google it. This baby is able to take out any vessel or hard site - and there's no way to defend against it. Add to that the current level of advanced Russian TNWs (tactical nuclear weapons). One shot from one of these babies can wipe out an entire brigade. Finally it should be known that Mr. Putin has been rushing into operation a whole new generation of long range stealthy bombers - capable of carrying Sunburn missiles armed with TNW warheads. If the American military comes up against these weapon systems we could suffer the greatest military defeat since Stalingrad.

And that boys and girls would shred the American unbeatable reputation. The only thing left holding up American global hegemony is our military reputation. Lose that and the whole house of cards comes crashing down!

The USA has been declining for years now. It is just getting bad enough for the average person to begin to be aware of it now.
