I just spoke to my cousin who is a Christian. He said that he do not celebrate birthdays because the only two times in the bible you see someone celebrating a birthday was when the person was dead. Now whats wrong with celebrating birthdays? Where in the bible can I find this?

God Bless You

Jacqueline

Birthdays were just not celebrated. During the life time of Jesus, and for a long time after the NT period, birthdays were not celebrated. Not really that I know of any reason not to, but just no reason to. The events in your life and the religious days were celebrated.

A side note, wedding rings for example were banned from any Christian wedding for 100's of years in the early church, it was not till the 8th centurty that Chrsitians were allowed to use them because of thier pagan connections.

It was just that things that we see today as having importance had little value in those times.

Our life and death are gifts from God. We celebrate the day we received this gift as a remembrance. We are thankfull as we mark another year passed, hopefully to our Lords happiness and pleasure.

Trinity did you say cake ? :emot-think:

I look forward to my birthday and theres 2 reasons.

1) I thank God I lived another year. Thats His gift to me !

2) I count how many more gray hairs i have .

Did I say i was graying ? :whistling:

Now I feel older !!

Oh well young in Jesus always .....

In His Peace, Michael
