Of course it is okay to be gay instead of being christian. It is also okay to be an adulteress, incestuous, polygamous, drug addict, prostitute and various other positions rather than being a Christian. Basically anything of the world and what the world supports is okay but Christians are called to not be of the world and thus we are not okay; we are not supposed to "fit in". It is also okay to be muslim, hindu, buddhist, atheist, agnostic and maybe even worship guitars so as long as it is not Christianity since it is the single reason for all the worlds problems...smh. Guys like the one in the article truly make me worry. His comments were only made public by one news outlet while the rest kept quiet. The fact that only one caught on while the others stayed silent is more than a coincidence imho. It makes me believe that other major news teams either believe it what he is saying or are too sheepish to act like with the Gosnell trial.

(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians--including chaplains--sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)

Seriously?

http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/proselytizing.asp

It’s OK to evangelize. But it’s not OK to proselytize.

That’s what the Pentagon said Thursday, attempting to clarify its position on religious speech in uniform as controversy swirled up around press reports over possible prosecutions of troops for sharing their faith.

What it comes down to, officials said, is that discussing matters of faith and religious practice with a willing audience is allowed, but pushing religious beliefs on those who don’t want to hear it is a form of harassment forbidden under Defense Department policies.

So all any soldier has to do is open with, 'would you like to hear what I think about xyz based on my faith in Jesus Christ?'

Simply because the world does not want to admit that they have done wrong so they say that we are the ones doing evil.
