In fact, you brought up the apostles cast out demons-which means that not only did the disciples NOT go out of their way to avoid demons, but they sought them out. I can say this with confidence because I once had a close relation with the enemy, literally. I would not go walk on these "cursed grounds" because I based on the scripture on you cannot have two masters, either you love the other or despise the other. " Setting foot would mean my acknowledgement of them and a defilement of my temple. that being the Holy Spirit. Then most definitely, you should not tour the temple. I was sad that people were so consumed by greed or the challange of beating the odds. But all the smoke in the place caused a severe asthma attack and burned my eyes. We went there looking for a place to eat but had to leave. You should try a Hindu meal. Their veg curry is amazing! Not sure if they serve it in their temples though.... But if they did I would order it. They are a "nation" as well. And Jesus said... Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." If we can't walk into something like a temple to a pantheon of gods, knowing that He is with us always, where can we walk? Do we choose the "nations", the casino's the bars, the clubs, the banks, the political offices, the correctional facilities, cults, churches, etc, to ignore because they make us uncomfortable? A Hindu temple known for its monumental architecture and grand beauty. The tour guide leads the way and you would : a. I flew half way from the world and it's a waste not to take pictures. I'm going in because as long as I'm not there to worship and know my heart and faith belong to God, there is no problem with it. b. I'm going in because I know this "building " is just an empty shell for people worshiping nothing but thin air so I'm at peace with it. c. I'm staying inside my bus and no one is going to make me set foot on cursed ground because any kinds of worshiping that is not to "Yahweh" is to Satan. d. Others. Are you Hindu? I would go and look at the temple - as I have many others. I have been fortunate enough to see some of the most beautiful buildings in the world - I would not be there to worship - I can sit in the woods near my home and praise and worship God.... I don't have to be in a cathedral - crystal or Notre Dame... I think people put way too much importance on buildings, and for that matter ceremony. Nothing can turn me from Jesus. We knew the owners and enjoyed many fine meals from there. Sadly they closed though. Willa, I dont know about the place you go to, but there is a thai place we go to that burns an offering of incense outside their door each morning before opening. They used to have a shrine inside too, tucked out of the way. I have not seen it for awhile though. Neither one of us (hubby or I) have been convicted about eating here. (Muslim Mosque) But I was also on the place of the old temple. I couldn't hold my wife's hand and we had to take off our shoes.(I don't think it was really a holy place) Only thing that I might have felt strange was being in Muslim security on the property. Since it was for Sight seeing as allowed and everyone knows that is the purpose of the group. I thought it was OK It is a learning experience of false religion and knowing what was inside the worship building. Man made I knew who was the true God of Heaven was. This was about 13 years ago.
