Thank you so much, GMan....I hope people will really hear this message with their hearts.

I know we all just wanna have a little fun...understandable. In some cases, we know it's "okay"...but it's important to be sensitive to people.

I AM blonde and it used to hurt me deeply when people would tell blonde jokes because I grew up in a home where my parents used to tell me I'd never amount to anything.

I believed them. Still, I went out and proved them wrong and graduated with a Bachelors in Business and Master's in Education ...both with top honors.

*********

Cat'smeow,

here's a joke just for you.

What's black and blue and brown and lying in a ditch?

A brunette who told one too many blonde jokes.

i agree sometimes i think it goes to far we should realize

as Christians, we may be hurting someone with our actions.

everyone like to have fun but why? if it hurts someone else

how much fun can that be. what should come out of mouth?

words that build up others.

i heard a sermon once it was about bridges (building them)

the Question was put to the congregation, how many nails

does it take to build a bridge? (considering a wooden bridge)

how many matches would burn it down?

the sermon was about the words we use about each other

are they building up or tearing down?

we were giving a small envelope with you guessed it a nail

and a match. it was to remind us as we go thru the week

to watch the words we use. you know it worked, my children

who i think dont pay attention sometimes in church, reminded

me every time i said anything. you know it helped. i now carry

that in my car.(the envelope)along with the verse in the bible

eph 4:29(niv)"DO NOT LET ANY UNWHOLESOME TALK COME

OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, BUT ONLY WHAT IS HELPFUL FOR BUILDING

OTHERS UP."

oh it takes thousands of nails to build a bridge

but only one match to burn it down

in Christ,

carolyn

Do blondes find them funny? Or do blondes find them offensive and demeaning?

I really had no idea that blonde jokes were hurtful - I constantly send them to my blonde daughter in England - she tells me she finds them hilarious. She teaches high school english in Oxford, is 5'4" and believe me she is not shy about returning as good as she gets.

Anyway point taken and from now on... :whistling:

I find the hilarious, personally. We could always substitute Newfies for blondes...

I find that jokes about marriage are offensive. Marriages have enough trouble in this world without pointing out our differences and causing dissention between men and women.

I just don't think it's right to make husbands and wives look bad.
