Anyway to get back to my quote. Hi DRS81 peace be with you.  My head is still spinning and I feel that my legs have been cut from under me. But before I reply to you biblical comments I have an issue with the way you replied.  I must say I don’t feel the love in your reply.  (sorry to burst your fantasy bubble. - DRS81) A put down comment like this is far from a Christian reply.  A little advice, think on how Christ would reply,

Peace genesis. You're living in a fantasy world if you're believing what you're saying in post 175. I'm sorry, but the truth does hurt sometimes. It's time to wake up is what I'm saying.

In my opinion the Jesus that I have come to know through the Gospel will not condemn Good people.

It's all good man, but the reality is still the same. You must be born again to go to heaven when you die. Good people that are not born again will go to hell. Good people that are not born again are already condemned because of their unbelief in who Jesus is. (John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.)

Now if you still insist that it’s not biblical I can quote scripture to back up my opinions, E.G (Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.)

The whole book of Proverbs are lessons about wisdom. Whether you're (born again or not vs Proverbs) are completely different topics.

Every person’s relationship with Christ is personal so you should not force your opinion on others.  With regards to being born again I disagree with what you consider born again means. That does not mean that you are wrong it means that my opinion is different.

The only way to have a personal relationship with Christ is to admit you're a sinner and accept Jesus as your savior. It's impossible to have a personal relationship with Christ without the holy spirit. Being born again is having the holy spirit indwell you. Get saved first, THEN follow Jesus. If you're not saved then you're just another Pharisee doing "good deeds".

Peace be with you.  I have never denied that I am a sinner and I accepted Jesus as my saviour a long log time ago and I have a relationship with Jesus equally as long .  Can you tell me more about being born again I understand that being born again is being born again in Christ, and this is being christ like in every way.

I’m confused are you saying that proverbs is wrong and is to be ignored because my topic is not about being born again my point is that you will be rewarded for good deeds as it says in proverbs.  You are the one who brought up about being born again.

Stay in the love & the light.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior in 2005. - I admitted that I was a sinner and that Jesus is God and that God raised him from the dead. Many are deceived into thinking they are saved when they're not. (Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.) Many confess with their mouth but do not believe in their heart. It all comes down to what's in your heart, who you believe Jesus is in your heart. 1) Admit that you're a sinner and that you need a savior 2) Confess and believe that Jesus is God and that he is Lord and savior of your life. 3) Believe in your heart (truly believe) that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved. Only when you do these things only then, will God the Father send his holy spirit to you to seal you and indwell you. (John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.)

You are then sealed with the body of Christ purchased by his blood. Jesus is alive and waiting for unbelievers to confess and believe. Jesus is alive, this is the good news of the Gospel. Jesus Christ was resurrected from the grave and now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Jesus is the intercessor between God and humanity. God the Father is the creator, Jesus is the intercessor and the Holy Spirit is the comforter and helper. What does Jesus being alive mean to you? (Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.) Hebrews 4:12 is saying when the holy spirit lives inside of you, only then do the words in the Bible also become alive in you, alive inside your heart. Without the indwelling of the holy spirit, the Bible is no more then glue and paper stuck to each other collecting dust.

Jesus died for your sins. That's why in order to know who Jesus is you would need to do these things (1-3) to understand who God is. The God we are speaking of is holy, perfect and without blemish. When you are born again you are no longer of this world. You are a new creation in Christ, you no longer walk in sin because you are now born of the spirit and not flesh. God has forgiven you. (John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.) But how can you be born a second time? (John 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”) This is where Romans 10:9 and John 3:5 come in, taking action! Blessings, DRS81.

To sum up if you don’t accept Christ you will not enter the penthouse.  But I do think you will be given a chance.  If a non Christian clothes, feeds, visits people in prison or hospital.  (Leads a good life treating others with respect) It would not be truly just to send them to the same place as murders, rapists ETC.  The way I have shown above is the only fair process and if anything Jesus is fair and merciful. In my opinion if it doesn’t make sense there’s something wrong.

God Bless stay in the love and the light.

I'm sorry but the above is simply not biblical.  Jesus told us He is the way....the only way.  Please read your Bible for the truth.

Hi MorningGlory peace be with you what a lovely name you have picked.

I’m sorry to have to disagree with you but this piece of scripture tells me it is biblical.  (Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.)  There is so much more to the New Testament than just words.  When I read it I can feel it, the compassion, the forgiveness, the divine love that oozes out of every page.  The Jesus that I have come to know is everything of the above and then some.  In my opinion the Jesus that I have come to know through the Gospel will not condemn Good people.  This life is a test and if God gave us all the information it would not be much of a test that’s why there are so many different Christian religions and sects.  Who is to say who is right and who is wrong.  Each relationship with Christ is a personal one and if it is right for you well, then its right for you.

Stay in the love & the light. God Bless.

Good Night DRS81 and God Bless.  It is gone midnight here in Ireland and I’m just about to hit the sack.  So I will talk to you again.  I have a very busy week ahead of me so it may be later in the week before I get back to you and until we talk again, my God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Copy and pasting the same response from your desktop to everyone doesn't really do anything.

It just says to us that you haven't changed and you're simply ignoring what we're saying.

Back to square one. God Bless.

Who is to say who is right or who is wrong?  Jesus Himself...'

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.

Anyone who is not saved and hasn't accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior is NOT going to heaven, my friend.  Works won't get you there, even if you're perfect in every way. Why do you argue against what is written, in plain words, in the Bible?

wow! gray wolf, I just found this thread, and man did this thing blow up or what?!? I am not sure how much I can add to this discussion, very difficult....but I will try!

1st, check out  Rom 2:14-16

14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
NKJV
This seems to speak to the idea of a person responding to the light of truth they have, even if it is the bare conscience. Personally, I believe that God responds to true seekers of truth and light by bringing them more light. Evidence of this is the countless instances of missionaries being divinely guided to particular places, resulting in some or many joyfully receiving the gospel. I am not trying to present this as an absolute, but one can only imagine how often the Holy Spirit has prodded someone to go preach the gospel somewhere and they basically refused, or wrote off the unction as not coming from God. I know that scripture says God's perfect will is that none should perish, yet many choose to reject the truth that is well able to save them. This is the man's fault, not God's.
The real rub here is accountability....how can God hold someone accountable in their ignorance?? Perhaps the passage above at least sheds some light on that, but I understand it isn't fully satisfying.
There has been much heated discussion lately about "good people" who are ignorant of Christ and what God does about that. Is any man capable of judging what is "good" in the sight of God?? Jesus says there is NONE good but God alone, and there are many scriptures that support His statement!! Good deeds can truly evidence, or be the fruit of a changed life, but God alone knows the thought and intent of one's heart in their outwardly good deeds. Whether someone is acting in true selfless love only God knows, only God can judge. Jesus certainly had no qualms about revealing the intents of the hearts of the Pharisees, but it isn't always given us to know. I agree with the assessment that God is perfectly loving and perfectly just at the same time. This explains the sacrifice of Jesus Christ!! He did what we could not do for ourselves and made the way to be perfectly forgiven. Beyond a knowledge of and surrender to Christ, I certainly would not want to try to slide into heaven by means of ignorance! I am not saying its not possible, as earlier stated, but Christ is the only clearly revealed way. This is supposed to highly motivate us to preach Him to every tongue, tribe, and nation!
Blessings to all

Guest shiloh357

Hi Shilo357 I just quoted Matthew 5:23 to 26 and in my opinion this is the biblical reference to purgatory a place where you atone for your sins.

You can't atone for your sins.  If you could, then no one would need Jesus.   Jesus died to atone for our sins because we were unable to do so. There was nothing we could do to pay for our sins.  The doctrine of purgatory is not in the Bible and just because you try to pencil it into the Bible doesn't make a true doctrine.   The Bible knows of nothing called purgatory.  It is a lie.

Jesus is concerned about our souls he is not concerned about us going to court where we may or may not go to prison.

Jesus is concerned about our souls, but the decision has to be made in this life.  There are no second chances.  When you step out into eternity the only thing that matters  will be the decision you made for Jesus in this life.  That is what determines your eternal destiny.   Sinners die in theirs sins forever.  They cannot die for their sins.

With regard to Purgatory saying Jesus is not enough.  Purgatory is for sinners who have not found Jesus so how it tramples on the blood of Jesus I don’t get that. .

It tramples the blood of Jesus by providing another way of salvation apart from Jesus. There is no salvation apart from the blood of Jesus.   There is no purgatory, that is myth.   Salvation will only ever be found in the death of Jesus and his shed blood.  It is Jesus' blood that atones, not the myth of Purgatory.

Jesus died on the cross to pay your sin debt. To argue that you must go to purgatory to pay that debt yourself tramples the blood of Jesus underfoot and denies the all sufficiency of His sacrifice for sin on the cross.

I don’t understand what your point is here.  Are you saying that I don’t have to ask forgiveness for my sins because Jesus already has paid my dept?

No, what I an saying is that Jesus paid the death penalty for your sin.   Jesus died on the cross to redeem us from the curse of death that hangs over the head of corporate humanity.   It must be appropriated by faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross.   Forgiveness is not for God's benefit but for ours.   Jesus has paid for our sins, but we need to daily experience His forgiveness to keep out from under condemnation from the enemy.

When I see “no that’s not biblical” I just wonder are they reading it without hearts without love.

It's the other way around.  It is a lack of love to simply let people go off into false doctrines, like Purgatory.
