"It's going to be real fun for anyone who is not a supporter," Conlon said, "[and] if cops decide to give us a hard time, we're going to lock the brakes up, we're going to stop right there, we're going to be a three lane roadblock."

'Truckers For The Constitution' Plan To Clog D.C. Beltway, Arrest Congressmen

Tractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally.

Organizers of the three-day ride want to call attention to a litany of trucker frustrations and express their disapproval of national political leaders.

Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution.

The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit.  More

I doubt they will be able to successfully clog the Beltway any more than it already is.

During rush hour, no one is capable of driving past the speed limit because there are just too many cars on the road. And it's already a  mobile parking lot where 3 other major freeways interchange with it, as well as before the Woodward Wilson Bridge (southern bridge that cross the Potomac).

Earl Conlon is not part of the truckers ride.  He should not be speaking for them.  The warnings have been sent out to the news organizations who have quoted Earl as "a legitimate" member of this ride...I guess he's not.

I wouldn't doubt the truckers ability to shut down the beltway truck drivers are one of a kind and good at what they do. They can do it. I don't much care about the earl guy, and I'm sure most drivers will let people in and out, its more of a publicity stunt then anything but even if they don't I say good for them. If I owned my own rig that's where I'd be. I doubt it will change anything, but its good to see there are people still willing to stand up for what they believe in.

What's stopping him from doing that now? Why does he need all the trucks?

Strength in numbers. No one cares if a single truck rides around in circles. Regardless he's not a actual spokesman as has already been pointed out.

I thought you agreed with congress pat. This protest wants the arrest of congress. It seems contradictory.
