Unbelievable! When God calls us to be Holy what exactly does that mean and does He command us to do something that we cannot? Like what? Ge 17:1 ¶ And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be you perfect. 1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, You will be holy; for I am holy. You can argue with scripture for the sake of arguing all you want Man. The word "perfect" in Gen 17:1 means "complete" not how the word is used today. I believe that the verse in 1 Pet is telling us that we are holy because we have been redeemed by Christ, who is holy. notice the verse does not say we will be holy because of our own actions. Your post is the only post that contains scripture and I don't see anyone disagreeing with it. This thread is about the legalization of marijuana. That's all that's being discussed here. Are we not supposed to be talking about this? Is it your belief that voicing an opinion on the legalization of pot is a sin? What is the meaning of the last half of your question? That's all I'm asking. Please explain. I have a family member (in-laws side) that has smoked it for years and years. She is only 50 years old now, for the last year she has been exhibiting dementia type behavior, but its NOT dementia or senility. The doctors cannot figure it out. She has had toxicology tests the whole nine yards and they cannot name what is going on with her. Just a couple of weeks ago her doc has started asking questions about her pot habit. Shows how lost The People are. The People ban tobacco smoking in public because it is so harmful, but want to be able to smoke marijuana legally. I thought The People were in the process of banning tobacco outright. Why are The People trading one harmful chemical for another? Smoking? If I want to sit in my house and get drunk every night (even though such a thing would be sinful and wrong) I should have the right to do that legally. Likewise, if someone wants to smoke marijuana in their private residence it is their life and their choice. There are lots of things that are harmful to individuals, such as porn, which ought to nonetheless be legal. Do you really want the *state* determining for you what you should and should not do with your life with the threat of violence? Such a thing sets a terrible precedence. I fail to see the irony if a person thinks somthing should not be done in public spaces but is ok in private. LOL, The People are whoever is represented by the government that bans this, or legalizes that. For example, The People in Colorado have legalized marijuana, but The People in Texas have not. If I say "we", it implies everyone, to include me, but that wouldn't be true would it? The People are those that have representation, whether it be ideological, legal, or constitutional.
